The video for Pharrell's "Marilyn Monroe" is now out: This is a good sign for people who are sick of Happy. Will it be a bigger hit than Robin Thicke's "Give It 2 U"? EDIT: I tried to post the VeVo video but it won't post. Grrrr

EDIT: I tried to post the VeVo video but it won't post. Grrrr Doesn't matter because it's not the US single. It's the International Single with Come Get It Bae being the US Single. Also the artwork was just completed for Lost Queen so this may never reach the US. CGIB is awful.

Is this a record for the least amount of airplay ever for a platinum hit? Probably not. AI songs, back when the show was popular. Glee songs. It is also possible to not chart at all and still sell 1 million "Don't Stop Believing" is the only Glee song to sell over a million. The only American Idol song that didn't get airplay to sell over a million was Clay Aiken's "Bridge Over Troubled Water," and nearly all of that was physical. How much airplay did Taylor Swift's "Safe & Sound" get? It's sold about 1.7 million, the most of any of her songs that weren't really singles. "'Till I Collapse" by Eminem ft. Nate Dogg has sold well over 2 million thanks to endless TV exposure, but never appeared on any airplay chart.

Very impressed at Lana's streams overall this week. At LOL at the Cranberries' "Zombie" video top ten in VEVO Poland. It's because of this

Well, only 2.23% of people in the US bought "Blurred Lines," so I'd call it a flop. That's only legal iTunes downloads lol... I think "legal" was more accurate... It's all paid downloads, so Amazon is included.. In terms of revenue, the Spotify streams give us another 771,000 download equivalents.

Hot 100 This Week Last Week Two Weeks Ago Weeks Title, Artist Peak 1 1 1 16 Happy, Pharrell Williams 1 One of the biggest hits of all time? I hate to admit it, but yes. It is. 2 2 2 28 All Of Me, John Legend 2 I don't think this is going to hit #1. I really, really don't. I'd at least like to see it come close to the record for weeks at #2 without topping the chart. (Five weeks so far, five more to reach the record. Another classic "trapped at #2" hit, "Bad Romance" had six weeks.) 5 5 5 21 Let It Go, Idina Menzel 5 I thought it was a fluke when this reached #5, but this is its fifth (non-consecutive) week at that peak. It continues to slowly rise at HAC and AC, but Pop was reluctant to even let it in the top 50. The sustained streaming and digital sales of this (keep in mind that we are now post-DVD release, so now that Easter's come and gone there's nothing else to look forward to for the movie) are incredible. 11 10 8 44 Counting Stars, OneRepublic 2 Ties "Apologize" for weeks in the top 10. OneRepublic could have been one-hit wonders, but they clearly just wouldn't allow it. They're one of the most under-rated bands in the game right now. Their seven Top 40 hits on the Hot 100 are well deserved. "Love Runs Out" debuts at #81. 14 15 0 2 Sing, Ed Sheeran 14 Rising in your second week after a huge first-week is a big deal, and a testament to just how much people are digging this song. Future #1. 17 0 Hot Shot Debut 1 West Coast, Lana Del Rey 17 And yet no one's spinning this. It's a jam, so get on it, programmers. 18 37 56 7 Fancy, Iggy Azalea Featuring Charli XCX 18 Incredible trajectory. Rise, bitch, rise. 34 34 35 15 Partition, Beyonce 23 Probably peaked at this point. At least we had "Drunk in Love." We'll always have "Drunk in Love." 48 42 39 86 Radioactive, Imagine Dragons 3 Flames to dust, lovers to friends. Why do all good things come to an end? 54 66 60 3 She Looks So Perfect, 5 Seconds Of Summer 54 Nice to see this reach a new peak after dropping in its second week. Thank you, Easter gift iTunes cards. 63 59 45 14 Can't Remember To Forget You, Shakira Featuring Rihanna 15 This won't even be going recurrent :( [/quote] 68 0 New 1 You & I, One Direction 68 I don't expect too much from this one, but that's a pretty nice debut (music video-related, of course) to get things rolling with. At the very least, it'll keep the album sales (which, at 1,312,000 are already strong enough for me to pack my things up and go home) from dropping off the face of the earth. 82 98 – 2 Girls Chase Boys, Ingrid Michaelson 82 83 91 – 2 Birthday, Katy Perry 83 Yasssssssss at these rises. "Girls Chase Boys" has now outpeaked "Be OK" to become Ingrid's second-highest charter after "The Way I Am" (#37). If Pop decides they finally care about her (and with HAC on board, they might), then this could beat that. Meanwhile, "Birthday" is doing really well without sales exactly 'kicking in' yet. The song rose three spots on CHR to #28 today and a whopping 44 positions on iTunes to #127, so this is the song to watch on next week's Hot 100, especially with the music video on its way. ------------- Hope you enjoyed that! It was mostly just for me, but I may continue doing that week to week.

I don't know if Happy will be one of the greatest since it's falling so fast now, it only has 16 weeks on the chart and at the rate it's falling it might only be on it for less than 40 which won't get it a spot on top 100 of all time imo.

Was that not due to a streaming boost though? It feel harshly on radio.

The A Team and Promises were both massive summer top 3 hits in 2011 where I live. Yet they're in the charts in the US at the same as a song that is charting into 2014! lol

And you said something about Bad Romance being trapped for 6 weeks at #2; it was 7.
