It didn't start taking off until the end of the tracking week, so it won't have a lot for this week's chart. It definitely will have enough to be on the Hot 100, though. I'd say somewhere between 36-45 since it'll also have digital sales backing it up as well. Next week will have full week of high sales and high streaming, though. It's been getting around 1 million views per day. Not all of them are from the US, but a good portion to probably bring its total around 4-5 million next week. Couple that with its increasing digital sales and increasing airplay that should be enough for it to crack the top 20 next week.

Well, the tracking period for the different components of the chart are a tad different. For both digital sales and streaming, the tracking period runs from Monday to Sunday. So, for this Thursday's upcoming chart, it will reflect both the digital sales and streaming data from July 7th through July 13th. As for radio, it runs from Wednesday through Tuesday. So, for this Thursday's upcoming chart, it will reflect airplay data from July 9th through July 15th. Why is it different? Because airplay information comes from one provider and Billboard only needs one day to compile the airplay data. Digital sales and streaming data comes from multiple providers, though: iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, VEVO, the list goes on. So, Billboard allows for extra time to get all of that data.

As for "Try," I definitely think it has the makings of a radio hit. It hasn't cracked the top 50 of any format yet, but it was just released. Luckily, it looks like it will be pushed to the ACs and pop (that last one "Hold On" was never pushed to for some crazy reason). With the great response it's been getting since its video's release, I have no doubt that radio will be willing to give it a shot, which I believe will translate well with radio listeners.

There's more to streaming than just video views on VEVO.

Just let it play out, and if the interest is still there after this single, I'm sure Work will be next. But I think they want another pop-sounding hit to get her name solidified on pop radio before they try an urban-leaning track.

Just let it play out, and if the interest is still there after this single, I'm sure Work will be next. But I think they want another pop-sounding hit to get her name solidified on pop radio before they try an urban-leaning track.

One problem being that the population of people that want to download it will be dispersed too much over a long period of time and prevent it from charting well. It's great if it sells 2 million downloads, but 2 million downloads spread over a year doesn't have the same impact on the charts as 2 million downloads in 2 months.

Just let it play out, and if the interest is still there after this single, I'm sure Work will be next. But I think they want another pop-sounding hit to get her name solidified on pop radio before they try an urban-leaning track.

One problem being that the population of people that want to download it will be dispersed too much over a long period of time and prevent it from charting well. It's great if it sells 2 million downloads, but 2 million downloads spread over a year doesn't have the same impact on the charts as 2 million downloads in 2 months.

Dark Horse had already sold quite well before being announced as a single, and it still managed a solid chart history.
