#5 Drunk In Love Beyonce feat Jay Z
The album and a song that hopefully changed the face of r&b in mainstream America. This song and video which came out right in time for this chart was the talk and the rage for all of December and much of 2014. I love filthy beyonce, hell yes show them the real you instead of the public persona. Beyonce let it all hang out and made one of the hottest songs of the year.
I love the rapping style and I love the video, hell its the only song i sang Karaoke style! and I hate singing They worked out the video, and the beat was banging enough. Sexy. Love when she is grinding in the water and i love the haunting vibe of this otherwise banger. Bop. Jigga just takes the song to the next level with his rap.
"Graining on that wood, graining, graining on that wood I'm swerving on that, swerving, swerving on that big body Been serving all this, swerve, surfing all in this good, good"

So good to see "The Worst", "It Won't Stop", "Latch", "All The Way Home", and "Drunk In Love" here, among others.

#4 Q.U.E.E.N Janelle Monae feat Erykah Badu
This aint a song or a video, this is A WORK OF ART. I'm running out of things to say about Janelle other than SUPERNATURAL gifts in music. I love the production, I love the upbeat bop it gives me and i adore the vocals. Janelle has a way of making fun, dance songs with clever lyrics and interesting visuals. In my opinion she is the most underrated woman in showbiz, sure she has a strong following but her music should be all over #1 on charts around the world, she is a icon in the making
wake up ppl! Janelle is the fucking truth. This and "Electric Lady" are my two favorites songs she has on her album, but I love the entire cd from front to back

#3 Work Bitch Britney Spears
YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS LAWD! This is my #1 dance, pop song of the year, she made me pick up my jaw of the ground when i first heard this banger!! I need to stan out because the bitch turned me out on this. The beat, the tempo, the interesting production elements and how she delivers the song with such fierceness, that shit is right up my alley.
This song got me through so much commute time, it got me through so many walks, it got me in the mood so many times and I danced for my life in 2013 due to this more times than I can count. This song got mixed reviews but some folks don't understand genious, I do!
WORK, WORK, WORK, WORK, WORK, WORK IT OUT, WORK IT OUT, WORK, YOU BETTA WORK BITCH.

#2 #Beautiful MARIAH f**king CAREY feat MiguelMy favorite singer, my favorite single of 2013, but my 2nd most listened to song. Mariah Carey is a icon, a legend, a musical entity, a international brand, songbird supreme, i can keep going on and on. The vocal harmony between her and Miguel are heavenly. This song has no genre like all great music its a combination of all things great, a timeless sound, a great production and great singing from two incredible vocalist.
A song that is as fresh today as it was then, its soul soothing song that shows that true soul lasts forever.
This aint no microwaved Katy Perry, this is Mariah f**king CAREY. 25 years later and still here, doing what she loves . Giving us timeless music regardless what any chart indicates.

#1 Do What You Want Lady Gaga featuring R. Kelly
"Early morning, longer nights Tom Ford, private flights Crazy schedule, fast life I wouldn't trade it in 'Cause it's our life (let's slow it down...)
I could be the drink in your cup I could be the green in your blunt Your pusher man, yeah, I got what you want You wanna escape all of the crazy shit You're the Marilyn, I'm the president And I'd love to hear you say, girl
Do what I want Do what I want with your body"
Oh Gaga I wanted to pay you dust last year , but then you dropped this banger and got me right back into you. Lady Gaga and R Kelly combining for a R&B /Pop perfection? yass please, not only my most played song, but also one of the best song of 2013 right up there any other song, single or not.
This is the kind of crossover song that grabs at me, Gaga's very own, ALWAYS BE MY BABY. Melodic and soothing and just makes you feel happy, ya know? Once the song is over you can't help but press the REWIND button over and over
This song is crack, if crack was good. Addictive and I may or may not have just listened to it 10 x straight today.
Urban Gaga would grab all your favs by the ponytails, wigs, weaves or natural hair and throw them in the dumpster. She really turned this out, a fucking hot jam.

Phew glad this over, I dragged this out way too long!
Thank you everyone for all your comments, likes and following!!!! It was fun looking through my most played singles and sometimes they made perfect sense and others made me think, damn I did like this more than I thought.
My #1 was always one of my favorites of 2013 but never realized how big of a margin it was in play count.

Shocked "#Beautiful" wasn't #1, but I absolutely love "Do What U Want"!! And great to see "Work Bitch" in the Top 3 as well! Shame that "Heart Attack" missed the list, but I'm glad to see you gave it some recognition anyway :)
I'm sure you've seen just how many songs on this list I've liked, so I can honestly say this was a fantastic countdown! Thanks for sharing it

nick64 I was a bit surprised, I knew it was close in my head, but play count wise wasn't even close. I think a part of that is while #beautiful is amazing its a song I have to be in the mood, while Do What U Want is all purpose and actually puts u in the mood, thats why it takes the crown. What SHOCKED me is how many duet, male/female duets I LOVED lol. i guess something about the voices clash, or maybe its because i'm a clash lol, I dunno so many duets! It was the first year that new music did it for me, usually i'm content listening to songs from the 70's and 90's and bits and pieces in 00's. Thank you for tuning in tho! Fancy yasss thank you! <3

Interestesting that the top 3 are all songs from artists that flopped compared to their success in the past, and signify their last decent hit. They all each came out with another song that scratched the hot 100, but basically did nothing. (Perfume, Your Mine (Eternal), and G.U,Y.). Weird that Britney, Mariah, Gaga's careers are all closing at the same time.

That top five is everything. I'm also shocked Mariah wasn't number one, but "Do What U Want" is fantastic.
It was a pleasure following, Coco! You have great taste.

Amazing top 2, easily both in my top 10 of last year. Then again I didn't really listen to that much, but that doesn't matter when these are so good.
