Also, I really feel like part of her own healing was purposely disconnecting with any current industry happenings. She has no clue who is who and how famous they are, and doesn't care beyond discovering a bop to dance to in her living room. She is truly retired and uninvolved at this point.

It's important to remember that she's always had her quirks and she's sometimes just a straight up troll. But since her mental health struggles were made very public, people see her through a very specific lens where every action she takes is attributed to the state of her mental health.

I hate seeing her like this . Her voice and appearance indicates things aren't entirely well but I really hope she has someone anyone around her who cares about her true well being but I love that she keeps it real and isn't fake I'm referring to this from two days ago 😭 poor Sabrina http://instagram.com/p/C_13Mi5Mtuj

Sigh. I just feel sad watching her. Britney clearly has no idea of her impact or celebrity.

Whatever she experienced has completely fried her. And if she’s not going to get the help that she needs, it’s never going to change. It may have been so traumatic that help will not even make a difference. So sad.

I know we’ll never get it, but I feel like she’s one of the few artists where rarities album would actually be kinda lucrative.

…I’m surprised to see the reaction to her Sabrina video as negative lol. It was definitely not a Halsey situation. She’s just poking fun at her because she was dressed as Madonna.
As for her vocal inflections and whatnot… yeah idk man.

This is nice, but feels more like material from her first two albums. I would commit crimes for an expanded ITZ anniversary edition, especially with this Frou Frou (Imogene Heap & Guy Sigsworth) number that was a Japanese bonus track on the Chaotic EP.

I dunno backhanded and slightly dismissive not necessarily rude or anything but she kept saying that Sabrina girl, and for little dismissive expressions "oh that's weird why she do that" etc . Maybe reading too much into it but if felt like she doesn't want to even be honored like a let me be type moment "whole thing was kinda weird but then I took a long bath" coupled with her facial expressions I hollered

Womanizer has surpassed 500 million streams on Spotify. Womanizer has surpassed 600 million streams on Spotify. Her 6th song to achieve this.

A lot of ITZ material that was scrapped leaked. Haven’t heard it, but I’m also not seeing much buzz about it. So take that as you will.
As far as official releases go, Forbes is reporting that her streaming numbers are actually increasing. Britney continues to beat the broke allegations. It was also found that Britney is the second most Googled celebrity since the engine launched, surpassed only by Rihanna (and it’s a very close margin).
I don’t say this to start an argument, rather I genuinely think this: she is probably the last “great” artist of our time. There’s a constant debate about Madonna vs. Britney relative to impact, but Britney has not only shaped modern pop culture (not unlike Madonna did), but comparatively Britney has held her seat at the table despite doing, well, exactly nothing. It isn’t just her music - in many ways, what would be pop culture at the macro level borrows from her legacy so often and in a way that I no other artist has accomplished since Elvis.

She was the last great pop superstar. We haven’t seen anyone like her since or with her impact. The next generation after this one will still be pulling from her archives.

It may have been so traumatic that help will not even make a difference. So sad. Using terms like "fried" while referring to a woman's mental health is so tacky and gross. Some of you are using a silly little video where she literally says she loves Sabrina to weaponize her mental health against her, and she's the one who needs help? It's not that serious.

Britney is obviously an all-time icon of pop music, that’s not up for debate. I will say though I think her legacy today maybe gets a bit overstated by those of us in the queer community. Like she is in such another stratosphere of icon with us, but I don’t think that’s quite the case with most others.
Like I don’t have any hetero friends who are quite as obsessed with her and her catalog, and my younger relatives I’m sad to say are pretty oblivious to her music altogether (and by “younger” I mean as old as even early 20s).
Also, of course there have been true mega pop superstars since Britney as well, for the record. Gaga, Taylor, and Rih at the very least. Dont see how any of them could be remotely disputed. Then there’s a slew of others since Brit as well that are at least in the conversation.

The In The Zone album shoot as a whole was great but the blue photos were top tier. Such a sick album cover that still works today.

I still remember where I was the very first time I heard the “Gimme More” leak. It was euphoric.
Truly the greatest Pop album of all time. Not one second of it was wasted.

Perhaps it was the heightened drama surrounding her at the time, but I remember listening to "Gimme More" for the first time and just being gobsmacked. It was to the point where I couldn't even fully process it the first time listening. My brain just sort of felt frozen trying to fully take in all the pop greatness that I was listening to. I was just so taken aback by how good it was. The album itself, is also pop perfection and illustrates just how good Britney's instincts are as a pop star.
