What is the eligibility period? I can't seem to keep it straight with all the country awards out there. I want to say it's July 13 - to June 14. Also, Since I said it above. If an aritst wins in a major category except video, collaboration or Song of the Year (songwriter award), they are inelegible to be in New Artist Award. So technically, this means that acts like Florida Georgia Line are ineligible for the New artist award (They won Single and Duo of the Year in 2013).

Also, right before the nominations are announced I will put all of our nominations together and put together the Pulse Nomination List and we can see how close we were as a collective unit as well.

I could be wrong, but I have a gut feeling Rascal Flatts will not be given a vocal Group nomination this year .
Miranda, Eric, FGL, Luke and Blake are locks for a few categories each.

Thanks for the info about FGL. I updated my predictions, taking them out of the new artist category. I'm sure I'll be editing my predictions a couple more times before the official nominees are announced.

Of all years, watch Carrie get nominated for Entertainer this year... WATCH. I know it's unlikely as all hell, but the CMAs truly are unpredictable in so many ways... You never know until the names are called.
Honestly, this year has been quiet for many of the big names, relatively speaking. I think Blake and Luke are a shoe in, and most likely FGL too. But then, anyone else from the following list would be reasonable predictions because they've all had relatively quiet years (or so it seems). Keith, Kenny, Tim McGraw, Jason, Taylor, Miranda, Carrie, George, etc... Of this list, I think the two most likely names are Miranda and Jason.
Entertainer of the Year:
Blake Shelton Luke Bryan Miranda Lambert Florida Georgia Line Jason Aldean
Female Vocalist:
Miranda Lambert Taylor Swift Carrie Underwood Kacey Musgraves Sara Evans/Cassadee Pope
Male Vocalist:
Blake Shelton Luke Bryan Jason Aldean Keith Urban Hunter Hayes/Kenny Chesney/Tim McGraw
My others will come later...

Entertainer of the Year: I'm not at all expecting a George Strait nomination here. I'm going to suspect MCA and George's team are not going to push for one. Luke will have to wait out another year or two until he delivers another album that proves he can do something other than his usual flare; Blake hasn't had a new album out since March of 2013, although I'm sure a new single is on its way before the end of summer; FGL needs to headline a tour of their own first and also it's a wait and see for what their sophomore album is going to bring; Jason is on a roll but he doesn't seem to play the Nashville politicking game much and therefore just can't seem to get much love from them; that leaves Miranda as your CMA Entertainer of the Year.
- Jason Aldean - Luke Bryan - Florida Georgia Line - Miranda Lambert - Winner - Blake Shelton
Alt: Keith Urban, Eric Church, George Strait, and then Carrie Underwood (in that order of who has best chance); Taylor Swift has been relatively quiet and has had no new music out since she performed "Red" on last years show so I don't see her getting any nominations this year.
Male Vocalist of the Year: - Jason Aldean - Luke Bryan - Winner - Eric Church - Blake Shelton - Keith Urban
Alt: Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw
Female Vocalist of the Year: - Miranda Lambert - Winner - Kacey Musgraves - Jennifer Nettles - Cassadee Pope - Carrie Underwood
Alt: Taylor Swift, Sara Evans and Sheryl Crow
Album of the Year: note Pioneer is not eligible as it was released April of 2013 so we can eliminate that one from predictions. - Crash My Party - Luke Bryan - Fuse - Keith Urban - The Outsiders - Eric Church - Platinum - Miranda Lambert - Riser - Dierks Bentley
Alt long shots: Band of Brothers by Willie Nelson; Crickets by Joe Nichols; I'm A Fire by David Nail (this seemed to be on everyone's top of the year lists)
Song of the Year: - Automatic - Follow Your Arrow - Give Me Back My Hometown - I Hold On - Who I Am With You (I've had a hunch about this song getting in so I'm going to go with it) Single of the Year: - Automatic - I Hold On - We Were Us - Who I Am With You - Yeah
^ I'm going to predict Luke's "Play it Again" and "Drink A Beer" possibly cancel each other out in the voting process and get edged out by other songs, but of the two "Drink A Beer" stands a good shot at getting in.

I could definitely see Miranda Lambert winning EOTY this year, but god almighty will that just put her over the edge as the most rewarded artist in Country music of the past 10 years. Actually, if she gets a nomination, I'd bet on her winning.
Anyways, I forgot to do Best Already Been Around For A Couple of Years nvm that's the ACMs, New Artist -Brett Eldredge -Tyler Farr -Brantley Gilbert -Cassadee Pope -Thomas Rhett
Wow, really surprised at some people's predictions thus far. Some are actually pegging Taylor Swift to be completely out of the FVOTY category? Bold, but it could happen since she hasn't been on Country radio this year. Lol at some people thinking Carrie could be a contender for EOTY. I mean...really? Even if she did enough that was EOTY-worthy this year, really? This year is going to be an overwhelmingly obnoxious Miranda Lambert love-fest. I know it's been bad for the past few years, but she will likely lead these nominations handily and heavily.

It goes to show how relevant Carrie is... Even when she's practically non-existent other than a single collaboration, her name is still in the mix among country fans for the biggest awards. To your point about Miranda, I fully suspect she'll lead the nominations and wins. Despite the fact that the CMAs have rewarded Miranda heavily the past four years, this year would be the year I see her deserving wins for almost any category she's nominated in. I think she's had the best year, overall, when considering commercial success, critical acclaim, ambassadorship to country music, touring, etc... I would not mind in the least seeing Miranda win Entertainer. If she's nominated, that's who I will root for. With that said, I would put money on FGL, Luke, or Blake winning over her. She still will walk away with the most trophies, though.

I believe an album can be nominated in the year of its biggest impact not just the year it was released, not 100% so feel free to correct me if I am wrong Happy to clarify...here is the information provided directly from CMA's website (albeit from 2013's ballot): Awards criteria, rules of election and balloting procedures are established by CMA’s Board of Directors. Singles, albums, music videos and qualified music products for the annual show must have been first released during the eligibility period, which for the 2013 show is July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2013. In turn, 2014's eligibility period would be July 1, 2013 - June 30, 2014. Any album released prior to July 1 of last year does not qualify for this years ballot. edit: FGL already HAD a headlining tour. I went last year. They're totally eligible for EOTY. I never said they weren't eligible. I even included them in my predicted nominees for Entertainer. Every act has their own "headlining" tour now. I use that word loosely, though. David Nail for example just announced his I'm A Fire headlining tour, but that doesn't mean much now honestly. Even Reba commented on the crazy amount of headlining tours (see this article here). FGL is also spending the rest on the year on Jason Aldean's headlining tour, albeit they are doing a few select dates of their own here and there as well.

Any album released prior to July 1 of last year does not qualify for this years I know what the rule says, but we all know sometimes they don't follow the rules ie, Justin Moore's new artist nomination at the ACMs, Pontoon's song of the year nom at last years' CMAs

Any album released prior to July 1 of last year does not qualify for this years I know what the rule says, but we all know sometimes they don't follow the rules ie, Justin Moore's new artist nomination at the ACMs, Pontoon's song of the year nom at last years' CMAs The song of the year category can get a bit tricky at times, but with "Pontoon" for example although it was released in May of 2012 its actual peak position wasn't until September of 2012 which would have been within the 2013 criteria for nominations. This doesn't happen very often, but another example I can think of would be "Murder On Music Row" by George and Alan in 2000. It went on to be nominated in 2001, however. As for Justin Moore's ACM nomination, thats a very gray area the ACMs have decided to allow (however some label politics were probably involved). edit: to add to this though, the album of the year category is usually black/white. If the album was released prior to July of said year, there is plenty of time to get in a CMA nomination. Off the top of my head I can't think of an instance where an album snuck in the year after it would've been eligible.

I think that the year of greatest impact thing in regards to albums is an ACM rule, but I could be wrong.

What determines year of greatest impact? Sales or single success?

What determines year of greatest impact? Sales or single success? I think it's fairly ambiguous, like a lot of things with the ACM nomination guidelines.

Here is where we sit on the Pulse wide nomination ballot. Yet another year where we have Miranda absoultely dominating the nominations, with the addition of bro country, that does a pretty good job off explaining our nominations.
Please feel free to continue to vote for who you think will be nominated. I will update this again before the actual nominations are announced.
(The nominations are in order from most votes to least votes.)
Entertainer
Current Nominees Blake Shelton Luke Bryan Miranda Lambert Jason Aldean Florida Georgia Line
Others Receiving Votes: George Strait Carrie Underwood Taylor Swift Keith Urban
A bit of new blood this year in this category as FGL makes it in just one year removed from a new artist of the year nomination, the ACM winner, George Strait, sits just outside the potential cut according to us.
Male Vocalist
Current Nominees: Jason Aldean Luke Bryan Blake Shelton Keith Urban Eric Church
Others Receiving Votes: Dierks Bentley Tim McGraw Hunter Hayes
More of the same in this year's Male Vocalist list. Dierks is having a great year, and he would be the next one that could potentially break up the party.
Female Vocalist
Current Nominees: Carrie Underwood Miranda Lambert Kacey Musgraves Cassadee Pope Taylor Swift
Others Receiving Votes: Jennifer Nettles Sheryl Crow Sara Evans Dolly Parton
If our voting comes true, Cassadee Pope will score her first female vocalist nomination. I was also surprised on how many people left Taylor off their ballots. The voting is close between her and Jennifer Nettles.
New Artist
Current Nominees: Brett Eldredge Cassadee Pope Brantley Gilbert Cole Swindell Tyler Farr
Others Receiving Votes: Dan + Shay Thomas Rhett Scotty McCreery Maddie + Tae Florida Georgia Line
A very tight category between places 4 through 7. According to us, Brett, Cassadee and Brantley should be locks for the category with the final two spots coming down to Cole, Tyler, Dan + Shay and Thomas Rhett. Close, close voting
Duo
Current Nominees: Florida Georgia Line Dan + Shay Thompson Square The Swon Brothers Maddie + Tae
Others Receiving Votes: Love & Theft Big & Rich The Civil Wars Joey & Rory Montgomery Gentry
This category is really FGL and then the rest. We have FGL, Dan + Shay and Thompson Square as locks. Often the CMA's throw an acclaimed artist a bone here (the Civil Wars and Joey + Rory come to mind) but we filled the last two spot with up-and-comers the Swon Brothers and Maddie + Tae.
Group
Current Nominees: Little Big Town Lady Antebellum The Band Perry Zac Brown Band Eli Young Band
Others Receiving Votes: Rascal Flatts
This category is really the four locks and either Eli Young Band or Rascal Flatts. It is basically a toss-up as one vote separates them.
Album
Current Nominees: Platinum - Miranda Lambert Crash My Party - Luke Bryan The Outsiders - Eric Church Riser - Dierks Bentley Fuse - Keith Urban
Others Receiving Votes: That Girl - Jennifer Nettles Storyline - Hunter Hayes Pioneer - The Band Perry I'm A Fire - David Nail
All but unanimous here as the others receiving votes received just one vote each.
Single
Current Nominees: Automatic - Miranda Lambert Play It Again - Luke Bryan We Were Us - Keith & Miranda Drink A Beer - Luke Bryan Stay - Florida Georgia Line
Others Receiving Votes: I Hold On - Dierks Bentley Doin' What She Likes - Blake Shelton Drunk On A Plane - Dierks Bentley Bartender - Lady Antebellum Dirt - Florida Georgia Line Whatever She's Got - David Nail Meanwhile Back At Mama's - Tim & Faith This Is How We Roll -FGL Drink To That All Night - Jerrod Niemann Follow Your Arrow - Kacey Musgraves Bottoms Up - Brantley Gilbert Invisible - Hunter Hayes Mine Would Be You - Blake Shelton My Eyes - Blake Shelton feat. Gwen Sebastian Something Bad - Miranda Lambert & Carrie Underwood Who I Am With You - Chris Young Yeah - Joe Nichols
Song
Current Nominees: Automatic - Miranda Lambert I Hold On - Dierks Bentley Give Me Back My Hometown - Eric Church Drink A Beer - Luke Bryan Meanwhile Back At Mamas - Tim & Faith
Others Receiving Votes: Follow Your Arrow -Kacey Musgraves Stay - Florida Georgia Line Who I Am With You - Chris Young Play It Again - Luke Bryan Dirt - Florida Georgia Line Whatever She's Got - David Nail We Were Us - Keith Urban & Miranda Lambert Doin' What She Likes - Blake Shelton Invisible - Hunter Hayes I Don't Dance - Lee Brice Drunk On A Plane - Dierks Bentley My Eyes - Blake Shelton Feat. Gwen Sebastian Cop Car - Keith Urban
Video
Current Nominees: Drunk On A Plane - Dierks Bentley Automatic - Miranda Lambert Meanwhile Back At Mama's - Tim & Faith Something Bad - Miranda Lambert & Carrie Underwood This Is How We Roll - Florida Georgia Line Feat. Luke Bryan
Others Receiving Votes: Doin' What She Likes - Blake Shelton I Hold On - Dierks Bentley Invisible - Hunter Hayes Play It Again - Luke Bryan Dirt - Florida Georgia Line Whatever She's Got - David Nail Drink To That All Night - Jerrod Niemann Follow Your Arrow - Kacey Musgraves Bartender - Lady Antebellum Chainsaw - The Band Perry
Collaboration
Current Nominees: Meanwhile Back At Mama's - Tim & Faith Something Bad - Miranda Lambert & Carrie Underwood This Is How We Roll - Florida Georgia Line Feat. Luke Bryan We Were Us - Keith Urban & Miranda Lambert My Eyes - Blake Shelton Feat. Gwen Sebastian
Others Receiving Votes: N/A
These are pretty much either bro-country or Miranda. I do like the sprinkling in of the very deserving Dierks Bentley and Tim & Faith however.
Overall Nomination Stats: Miranda Lambert - 10 (Entertainer, Female, Album, 2 Single, Song, 2 Video, 2 Collaboration) Luke Bryan - 7 (Entertainer, Male, Album, 2 Single, Song, Collaboration) Florida Georgia Line - 5 (Entertainer, Duo, Single, Video, Collaboration) Keith Urban - 4 (Male, Album, Single, Collaboration) Eric Church - 3 (Male, Album, Song) Carrie Underwood - 3 (Female, Video, Collaboration) Blake Shelton - 3 (Entertainer, Male, Collaboration) Dierks Bentley - 3 (Album, Song, Video) Tim McGraw - 3 (Song, Video, Collaboration) Faith Hill - 3 (Song, Video, Collaboration) Jason Aldean - 2 (Entertainer, Male) Cassadee Pope - 2 (Female, New Artist) Kacey Musgraves - 1 (Female) Taylor Swift - 1 (Female) Brett Eldredge - 1 (New Artist) Brantley Gilbert - 1 (New Artist) Cole Swindell - 1 (New Artist) Tyler Farr - 1 (New Artist) Little Big Town - 1 (Group) Lady Antebellum - 1 (Group) The Band Perry - 1 (Group) Zac Brown Band - 1 (Group) Eli Young Band - 1 (Group) Dan + Shay - 1 (Duo) Thompson Square - 1 (Duo) The Swon Brothers - 1 (Duo) Maddie + Tae - 1 (Duo) Gwen Sebastian - 1 (Collaboration)
