I really like "Beach Town", "Gonna Wanna Tonight", "Jack Daniels & Jesus", and even "Beer With The Boys" is decent. Honestly, I'd say "Ready Set Roll" is the worst song on the album, that or "Do It Like This". I definitely see some more hit songs coming soon. He's going to go over really well with the college crowd.

"Jack Daniels and Jesus" is a total masterpiece. Brilliant song. Easily the best track.
"Beach Town" is pretty good, as are "Carolina Can" and "Look at my Truck". "Beer With the Boys" is ok.
Everything else isn't good at all. Lots of the tracks are loud and obnoxious and the production sounds very cheap on many songs.

Chase has 100% control of what are singles and he even compares his deal to what Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have in the Pop/HipHop world.

I wish other artists had the same freedom he has to release their single choices, because then I think we'd get some much better quality of songs on the radio.

If Chase Rice's twitter perosna is any indicator, he's the last artist I want to have controlling his single choices...

^I never said it was a stupid choice commercially but as far as the songs themselves there were better choices, i agree with dm2081 that ready set roll is the worst song on the album

I don't even think RSR is the worst song on the album. I'd give that honour to either "Do It Like This" or "We Goin' Out".

Got the record and listening to it right now. It is way better than anticipated. Basically, Chase squeezed out the best from his poor vocal skills. Major turn-off is the excessive use of studio gimmickry; autotune and voice echoes nearly everywhere; the wall of sound is sometimes irritating. Overall, the production lacks inspiration; some songs sound like unfinished demos. Love the banjos used throughout the songs, though. The two stand-out tracks are... ballads (!). "Carolina Can" and "Jack Daniels And Jesus" which should prove all critics wrong. Ready Steady Roll is definitely not the worst song by far: "Ride" and "Do It Like This" share this honour.

After a full week of assessment. "Beach Town" is a grower; "50 Shades Of Crazy" emerged positively and "What's Your Name" is now my 2nd favourite. "Jack Daniels And Jesus" remains the pearl in the (otherwise shabby produced) shell.

I'm sure I'll get into the bro country songs soon, but right now I've been loving Gonna Wanna Tonight, Ride, Jack Daniels & Jesus and What's Your Name.

Given his tour is "JD and Jesus," it could very well be that. But I honestly think he might have a new album single choice...

I'd personally love to see "Ride" get a try. It's obviously been a huge seller just from the exposure it's gotten on satellite radio, and I don't see it as necessarily polarizing as some have speculated it would be. Given the success of songs like "Burnin' It Down," "Strip It Down," and "Sangria" I think this could be a big game-changer for Chase. That being said, I'm more likely to speculate the next single will be "Do It Like This" or something from a new album. I remember Chase did an interview a good while ago for The Highway in which he talked about new material, so I can see him having something ready to go right after "Gonna Wanna Tonight."

Ride is so overtly sexual that it's vulgar. And I am NO prude.

I definitely think we won't see another single after this since his songs take 50 weeks to peak lol. Supposedly he's been recording some new stuff that's supposed to be more representative of who he is as an artist. I expect this to make top 5, then drop like a rock. I expect a new single around Halloween-Thanksgiving time, and he can aim for a summer release.

"Ride" may be explicit, but it's what the kids like these days. Just look at how popular the 50 Shades of Grey film became, how Miley Cyrus attracts so much publicity, or how quickly this "Weeknd" character exploded on pop radio. Like it or not, this seems to be one of the new trends and I expect to see an abundance of these sexually explicit songs in the future. I don't know if country radio would make "Ride" a Top 20 hit because I could see if having polarizing research, but it would definitely be a real game-changer for country radio, which still seems to be stereotyped as "conservative." Personally I think one of the problems with country radio today (and to some extent country artists and labels) is fear of taking risks. Chase is as likely as any artist to release a risky single since he has total control over his single choices. But like dm2081 said, I do feel there's a strong chance of new material coming after "Gonna Wanna Tonight" finishes its run. (Although I do have a feeling GWT may be looking at a run to #1.)

You really see GWT as a future #1. The airplay chart might as well be you get a #1 you get a #1 everyone gets a #1.
