I know this song's not country but Taylor once was, and I don't know if the pop field has this thread, so I'm gonna just post here sorry if this is wrong. My cousin misheard the "Blank Space", which is my new favorite Taylor Swift song.
Actual: Got a long list of ex-lovers... Heard: Got a list of Starbucks lovers...

I know the correct lyrics, but I still hear "Starbucks" every time the song comes on.

Okay, here is one that has been bugging me. It is in the chorus to Sara Evans' "A Real Fine Place to Start". There is a line that is listed as "Chasing that moon" on the album liner notes, every lyric site, and every fan-made lyric video, and seems to be pretty universally accepted as the lyrics... I have even accepted it myself for the past decade. But a couple days ago I realized, what the heck does that even mean? I mean, watching the moon would make perfect sense, or laying under it... But chasing it makes it seem almost like they are in a hurry to get to sunrise or something, which is completely contradictory to the point of the song... I have therefore hypothesized that the lyric is actually "chasing that mood", and literally everyone has been mistaken ever since the song came out, possibly due to a typo in the liner notes. I have listened so hard trying to discern the last consonant, but it is not very clear at all. I think it could either be a slightly hard "n" or a really soft "d", and it just becomes less clear the harder I listen to it. And the live videos aren't much more help. But to me, "mood" just makes so much more sense than "moon"! What are y'all's thoughts? I guess I had better tag our resident Sara Evans expert, .indulgecountry!

bboat11 I definitely hear "moon" there and it's never bothered me because it goes with the nighttime imagery in the chorus: Holdin' you close, chasin' that moon. Spendin' all night, Lovin' just who you are... Sparks flyin' in the dark. Shootin' down lights, runnin' down dreams, Figurin' out what love really means... Baby, givin' you my heart, Is a real fine place to start.I take it as just a young love kinda thing. And there's a lot of songs out there with the title/hook 'chasing the sun,' so it really doesn't seem odd to replace sun with moon if the festivities are happening at night instead of during the daylight.

I've always interpreted "Chasin' that moon" as meaning that she can't wait for the night time to come, so as soon as the night comes, she's out with her boyfriend.

Hmm, yes, that makes sense. I can definitely see it going either way, so I have no problem accepting the "moon" lyric. It is definitely a really cool line! However, since this is the misheard lyrics thread, I'm going to bring up something I disagree with you on! You just said "Lovin' just who you are", but I have always heard "Learnin' just who you are." I definitely remember that I used to think it was "lovin'" when the song was younger, and then a couple years ago I had another 'wait a minute' moment... Lol!

Except learning who a new person is is one of the most exciting parts of falling in love with them! Finding out all the little quirks in their personality, along with their hopes and aspirations, life experiences, etc. New couples can definitely stay up all night just talking and learning about each other. I just listened to the song again, and I am positive I hear a "rn" sound in that word rather than a "v"... But we may just have to agree to disagree :) It is still a phenomenal song whether you are learning your lover or loving them!

Someone has to help me here because in Sara Evans "Coalmine" I hear the line... "Justin Moore it's almost time to see my baby walking out of that coalmine..."
I know it's wrong, but I don't know the actual lyric.

It does sound like Sara's saying "Justin Moore", lol. Though Justin Moore wouldn't have his first single at country radio for another two years when "Coalmine" was released.

Sara Evans - "Why Should I Care"
Heard: "I couldn't promise anything, Wayne needed me too" Actual: "I couldn't promise anything, the way you needed me to"
For the longest time I used to think this line was her talking about some guy named Wayne who was some other guy she was seeing or an ex or something, lol.
