Yeah let me know when we get an all female top 10. The week that Paul Grien cites as the last all top 5 was pretty close to having a top ten with all females. 1-5 were women, Janelle Monae was featured on We Are Young at #6, and then positions 7-9 belonged to women. Only Chris Brown at #10 ruins it.

So many "jumps," so little time spent with a thesaurus.

Another Hot 100 chart, another "Featuring Nicki Minaj" entry. She really is trying to catch Lil' Wayne in terms of hip-hop entries.

love Mr. Probz's “Waves”. that songs been a listening staple on my iphone for months, I thought it was an older song, or one that wouldn't chart

These number of featuring entries, though, don't help much in terms of placement on the all-time-acts list, especially if they're middling or lesser performers.

From Paul Grein's Chart Watch: Female artists make a clean sweep of the top five positions on the Hot 100 for the first time in more than 2-1/2 years. Nicki Minaj's aforementioned “Anaconda” holds at #3 in its fifth week. “Bang Bang” by Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj holds at #4 in its sixth week. “Black Widow” by Iggy Azalea featuring Rita Ora jumps from #6 to #5 in its 10th week. This marks the first time that female artists have locked up the entire top five since the week ending Feb. 19, 2012. Katy Perry's “Part Of Me” debuted at #1 that week, followed by Adele's “Set Fire To The Rain,” Whitney Houston's “I Will Always Love You,” Kelly Clarkson's “Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)” and Adele's “Rolling In The Deep.” (That was the first full week following both Houston's death and Adele's sweep of the Grammys). Is 7 different female singers in the top 5 the record?

Is 7 different female singers in the top 5 the record? I'm reviewing the Billboard charts, and I found some other cases of 7 in an all-female top 5: Date, February 20, 1999 1. Monica "Angel of Mine" 2. Britney Spears "...Baby One More Time" 3. Cher "Believe" 4. Whitney Houston Featuring Faith Evans & Kelly Price "Heartbreak Hotel" 5. Deborah Cox "Nobody's Supposed To Be Here" February 27 and March 6, 1999 also saw 7 there, with Sarah McLachlan's "Angel" coming in and Deborah Cox dropping out. Then, March 20, 1999 1. Cher "Believe" 2. Whitney Houston Featuring Faith Evans & Kelly Price "Heartbreak Hotel" 3. Monica "Angel of Mine" 4. Mariah Carey "I Still Believe" 5. Sarah McLachlan "Angel" Also, February 6 and 13, 1999 had 5 female stars in the Top 5, with Brandy filling in for the Heartbreak Hotel trio. Hadn't it been for the Backstreet Boys who squeezed in at number 5 on the March 13 issue, we would have had 7 consecutive weeks of Top 5 female domination. I'll keep researching, and if I find something else, I'll post it. :) ************************************************************** I found another case, but this has a group, bringing the singers in the Top 5 to 8, but technically it wouldn't count. Also, another of the songs, "I'm Real" had yet to feature Ja Rule, which did when it hit #1 three weeks later. But anyway, to remember another all-female Top 5: 1. Alicia Keys "Fallin'" 2. Eve Featuring Gwen Stefani "Let Me Blow Ya Mind" 3. Blu Cantrell "Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops!) 4. Jennifer Lopez "I'm Real" 5. Destiny's Child "Bootylicious"

I think the first time we ever saw an all-female top 5 was during the heady days of disco, the week ending June 30, 1979:
1.Anita Ward, "Ring My Bell" 2.Donna Summer, "Hot Stuff" 3.Donna Summer, "Bad Girls" 4.Sister Sledge, "We Are Family" 5.Rickie Lee Jones, "Chuck E.'s In Love"

Work it Donna Summer! Both those songs hit num.1 as well. She was HUGE from 1978-1980. She was the Katy Perry/Rihanna of the charts back then.

Is 7 different female singers in the top 5 the record? Your question was also answered in BB's Ask Billboard column, which also includes some of what I mentioned, and renfield75's contribution as well. :) www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6251419/ask-billboard-its-all-about-women-in-the-hot-100s-top-five

Is Clean Bandit ever going to get a shot at the top 10?? It's a shot in the dark, but they'll make it.
