Perhaps I should clarify that summer songs. Summer songs and songs that are hits in the summer are not the same thing.
Fancy is not a song that would work in the fall or winter.
I got a feeling, Somebody that I used to know, Blurred lines do.

Not sure about PRA and CMM as I'm not sure when they debuted...I didn't think CMM had longevity in the fall and winter months...

Still nonetheless, the reason Fancy is falling is because it screams Summer song and wasn't designed to be a song that would last for 6 months. Luckily she has a new smash Black Widow to focus on now.

So, what are the chances of Taylor Swift getting #1 again? The sales lead All About That Bass had last week has faltered along with the catching up it needed due to the EP release, radio is still very close, and streaming is the only chance for a clear advantage for All About That Bass.

I disagree, Fancy could have done well in the fall/winter/spring. I mean, I agree that all those other hits may have wound up being hits released in any other part of the year, but PRA and CMM had huge longevity after peaking in summer. And I Gotta Feeling and especially Blurred Lines feels more like a summer song compared to Fancy.

Most likely, but I'm sure they are more than happy with doing what they can to protect sales. It would be interesting to see sales trends after a track that has been out then goes to Spotify. Is there a significant drop or does it reach an audiences that has opted to consume music differently and rarely buys?

On the Digital Songs chart, Meghan Trainor's “All About That Bass” holds at No. 1, selling 312,000 downloads (down less than 1 percent). Taylor Swift's “Shake It Off” is steady at No. 2, with 309,000 (up 10 percent). Also stationary in the No. 3 slot is “Bang Bang” by Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, selling 147,000 (down 14 percent).

Fall Out Boy's “Centuries” logs the week's highest debut, starting at No. 4 with 138,000. It's the first single from the band's upcoming sixth studio album.

Iggy Azalea's “Black Widow” (featuring Rita Ora) descends 4-5 (127,000; down 11 percent), Nicki Minaj's “Anaconda” falls 5-6 (126,000; down 3 percent), and Clean Bandit's “Rather Be” (featuring Jess Glynne) climbs 8-7 (80,000; down 2 percent).

Digital track sales totaled 18.5 million downloads, down 3 percent compared with last week (19.1 million) and down 16 percent stacked next to the comparable week of 2013 (22.1 million). Year-to-date track sales are at 812.3 million, down 13 percent compared with the same total at this point in 2013 (932.4 million).

I think the total payout (all stakeholders) is .6 cents per play.
