It may be more that I don't listen to the radio or watch regular TV (pretty much all Netflix) so I never see commercials that might have songs in it. Most of the new songs I hear are recommended by friends. Those have not made the cut apparently. :)

I'm not really an avid radio listener myself, but "Bailando" has been the type of song this summer that you can't seem to avoid even if you'd want to. "Don't Tell Tell 'Em" is pretty much a going out staple; it doesn't matter what type of place I'm at, it's guaranteed to 1) be played and 2) be a crowd pleaser. I'm surprised Boston ain't with it!

It's weird how hits perform from area to area. "Bailando" is of course a decent sized hit here. I have heard it a fair amount of times, and a decent amount of people seem to know it/like it. However, "Don't Tell 'Em" just doesn't even exist here. "Rather Be" is the far bigger hit of the three in this area, which I'm very happy about, haha! The biggest hits around the area here right now are "Shake It Off" (probably the biggest), "All About That Bass," "Break Free," "Black Widow," "Rather Be," "Anaconda," "Chandelier," and "Habits." (Wow, not a man in sight!)

meghan, iggy, jeremih, jessie etc., and taylor are the biggest in my area. bailando is a nonfactor here (the main top40 station just added it two weeks ago lol), but don't tell 'em is kind of inescapable along with iggy and meghan. habits is also on the rise.

The two CHR'S and the HAC play SIO to no end.. I love it lol!!! They were also quite big on Rude, Am I Wrong and Problem when they were huge

1984: such great eras represented in that chart: Private dancer (one of the best comebacks in pop history!), Purple rain (huge soundtrack, critically and commercially speaking), She's so unusual (female artist with most top 10s from a debut album up to that year -and for few more years), Born in the USA (one of the albums with most top 10 and top 40 singles! Great commercial success for The Boss). Also, Stevie and Bananarama reminded us of times when movie songs could be real hits!

In 1989 and 1994 it was great to see classic acts with new top 10s: Bee Gees, The Cure, Cher (loved all these songs!); John Mellencamp (I couldn't believe he managed to have such a huge hit this late in his career and after so many underperforming singles) and Elton John (always good to see a 70s act having a top 10 in the 1990s :) )
