No one said that it should have went #1 one on iTunes, now you're exaggerating. I don't think anyone expected this to be a big hit, but I thought it would at least hold up just a little bit better after the music video/Grammys... Enough Already, please!!!!!

I still think her label should sit down with VH1 and have them commit to playing the video for 'Living For Love' for longer than a week!! to market to HotAC!
In the past VH1 plays her videos then quickly removes, literally after 1 week when they dont see action on a format. Such as Top40 POP,since she foolishly starts there, when she clearly should not.
Which tells me the label isn't being particularly agressive.
And,yes the VH1 strategy to market to HOTAC can and does work! Mary J Blige, whose older herself now. Her song,'Therapy' has been out for awhile is starting to show up in the Top 40 of HOTAC and the video is in the 'ON' category.
I don't think they like it when you go to CHR/Top 40 first. Seems they want an exclusive so to speak. They want to be the format that broke the song. Which is understandable, like they did with 'Lights' Elle Goulding & John Legend, his recent ballad. Those tracks started at HOTAC first!
I hope her team is much more agressive this time. Simply putting her song up for airplay is not enough or let alone agressive!

I think that the lack of high budget promo is a business move on Interscope's part. What will really be gained by shoveling out promo money? An artificial one week top 20 peak? An additional 50k sales?
I don't believe that promo is going to convince a lot of people to buy the album that otherwise wouldn't have bought it. I also don't think that it will significantly increase this song's chart position for a long period of time.
Its fun to see a top 20 peak from a Stan perspective. But from a business perspective, the label is spending little money on advertising while getting a moderate return. Will the sales boost really be enough to make promo for this song worthwhile? I don't think so. Longtime fans will buy the music, she will make big money touring, and any additional sales attributed to promo would just be a rounding error at best.

We are frustrated. Because she puts a song up for airplay, knowing full well she is to old for the format. And,we begin arguing with each other when the song is not played except by the usual suspects, who play overnight!! Other veteran acts who have loyal fans don't simply wait for their tour to begin. They also come up with creative ways to inform the masses they have a new album. She can do the same without spending a ton of money!

It was reported that she was played on Z-100 and the top 40 station in Minneapolis this evening and it was not apart of any show or dance mix.

It was played at 8:40 pm Eastern time America. I am still scared to get my hopes up. It might be a test spin or something but I am still reluctant to get excited until we have more info!

I think single 2 (Ghosttown) and an unprecedented radio deal (being that Ghosttown is a previously heard song) should coincide with album release I'd prefer a radio deal for the album. Playing the full album on all stations while people are driving home from work would be a good idea. What radio company is going to agree to dedicate that large of a time slot to music that's generating minimal interest among their audience?

If the label is willing to fork out the cash, there's nothing they won't do for an hour.

Video views picked up after the Grammy performance- it's now at 3m+.
Two top 40 stations have played it eight times in the past week, both from Texas- KVLY-FM in McAllen and KLJT-FM in Tyler.

Those are the usual suspects who always add her. They're starting to spin now! We need others outside the original 15 that added on Tuesday to jump onboard!!

What radio company is going to agree to dedicate that large of a time slot to music that's generating minimal interest among their audience? Uh, $$$$ ?? It's enough of a risk to trade an hour of airtime for an someone in Madonna's position (career wise) that Interscope would likely have to pay more for an hour (+) slot of back-to-back new Madonna tracks than would even be worth it. Madonna's album sales over the past decade haven't been that great even with much more high-profile singles, so what are the chances that force feeding her album to listeners for an hour will have any more of a positive effect on album sales than a hit single?

Valentine's Day promotion? Grindr's impact!

Yes, huge turnaround last night and this morning, with many iHeartMedia stations apparently given the go-ahead to start spinning. You can add KYLD San Francisco to the list, along with many others (as mentioned above). I am trying to keep a running total of the stations on board - bear with me, as I will be updating this page throughout the day.

Interesting that here in NYC, Z100 has "Living for Love" listed as one of the songs you can request, however, on KTU (our dance / rhythm station) it is nowhere to be found in the pre-populated list. You need to do a write-in.
I am surprised because KTU generally gives Madonna the love. I remember they were only radio station that would play "Celebration" and "Girl Gone Wild" even a little bit.

Sounds promising! This song deserves to be at least a modest hit. Apparently M wants Ghosttown as the 2nd single which is another solid track.

This is a pretty good song, so I do hope it does at least a top 40 for Madonna!!! Maybe top 30 if it does good? How high are we expecting this to go?
