The Jarryd James song was a song I got into late last year/ early this year, and glad to see it chart. Also, kudos to Robert DeLong.

Carlegend with one of her best songs to date. Anyway, another great batch because I like all the songs there. Poor "Love Me Like You Do" though~ You hit the nail on the head. This was absolutely one of her best. Oh, I know...Ellie almost made it. :( Well, OK, Carly isn't top ten. Sigh of relief. Love Me Like You do finished at #12 for me - also just outside :'( Nice show for +1 too! Oh! Glad you can breathe easier. Oh yeah! I remembered that LMLYD did super well for you as well. The Jarryd James song was a song I got into late last year/ early this year, and glad to see it chart. Also, kudos to Robert DeLong. Ugh isn't it so good? Its like once you get it in your head, you can't get enough. <3 Robert Delong. Thanks Daryl!

Albie's All-Format Top 100 of 2015
Welcome to the Top 10! This is the best of the best. 4 former #1's and one that didn't make it there but had quite the chart run. I will have to post the Top 5 tonight as well shortly after as I'll be out of commission starting tomorrow morning.
#'s 10-6
#10.
DJ Snake & AlunaGeorge “You Know You Like It” |
Total Points: 1726 Peak: 1 (2) Weeks on Chart: 24 Chart run: 82-52-39-37-24- 16-11-8-4-1-1-3-4-7-14-28- 36-51-57-70-79-94-100-99
| Well this was one of those inescapable songs this year. Job well done by DJ Snake in collaborating with AlunaGeorge as the two sounds went together really well. The drop on this just goes so hard and you've gotta turn it up. Sounds so good in the car. This made it to #1 after a decent climb and spent two weeks in a row there. It then had a rather slow fall down the chart so it managed to really stack up some points. This is the only entry for AlunaGeorge and the first of two for DJ Snake. | | #9.
Houndmouth “Sedona” |
Total Points: 1743 Peak: 1 (1) Weeks on Chart: 23 Chart run: 82-68-57-40-30- 14-12-10-15-10-7-3-1-2-3- 7-10-16-32-56-67-84-97
| So I was introduced to these guys this year at a music festival and that was when I first heard "Sedona" which is just my type of indie/rock. I loved the melody pretty instantly and the vocals are pretty cool. I saw them live twice this year and this one always sounded really good so that's always a plus. This ended up reaching the #1 spot and was there for one week. It did manage 9 weeks in the top 10, which is hard to do so that helped get it all the way up to #9 year end. This is the only entry for Houndmouth. | | #8.
Major Lazer & DJ Snake f/MØ “Lean On” |
Total Points: 1814 Peak: 1 (3) Weeks on Chart: 21 Chart run: 64-43-26-15-10- 5-2-1-2-1-1-2-6-9-17- 29-42-60-76-85-95
| Yet another one of those songs that no one could get away from. And why would anyone want to? There is pretty much nothing wrong with this song. Major Lazer and DJ Snake collaborated very well together and MØ was pretty much perfect on this one. As soon as I heard it I knew it would be headed towards the top. And indeed it did spend 3 weeks at #1. Despite only charting for a total of 21 weeks, 10 of those were inside the top 10 so that gave it a huge bonus helping it end the year at #8. This is the highest entry for all three acts. | | #7.
Beck “Dreams” |
Total Points: 1856 Peak: 1 (2) Weeks on Chart: 24 Chart run: 92-78-60-44-25- 18-19-9-5-2-1-1-5-2-4-9- 18-26-34-49-59-73-76-92
| Well I have no idea what's to come from Beck's new album but if "Dreams" was any indication, we can expect it to be EPIC. That's exactly what "Dreams" was. Its Beck perfection. I can't even isolate anything I like that about because it like it all. I am still bummed that this didn't even try at Pop format because it should have done well. Whatever. It managed two weeks at #1 and I was expecting more but it was tough. It had a super balanced chart run including 24 total weeks on chart so it ends up at #7 for the year. This is the only entry for Beck. | | #6.
Walk The Moon “Different Colors” | Total Points: 1944 Peak: 7 Weeks on Chart: 29 Chart run: 94-81-67-56-50- 50-40-38-38-44-27-19-18- 17-16-15-10-7-8-7-9-13- 25-39-50-62-78-86-91
| This is the album opener and it really helps to set the tone because it is EXCELLENT. This is absolutely one of my favorite songs on the album and I'd venture to say I like it more than SUAD. Which leaves me scratching my head as to why I had it peak at #7. It had a tough road to its peak position even. But it did end up charting for a total of 29 weeks, which is technically the longest chart run of 2015, if I'm counting only songs that started their run within 2015. So its no wonder it ends the year at a very appropriate #6. This is the highest entry for Walk The Moon. | |
Note 1: In the 'chart run' breakdown (*) symbolizes charting for 2014. Those points are not accounted for but a song's entire chart run is included anyhow for completeness
Note 2: In the 'weeks on chart' (**) symbolizes that the song is still charting. This is also denoted in the 'chart run' as the last chart position is followed by a (-).

Great songs in the last set. I don't know "Sedona", but I will check it out. Anyway, great to see "You Know You Like It" there. I still prefer the original one, but the DJ Snake remix is good too.

Never heard of Sedona, but the rest of those are awesome. Most happy to see beck made your top ten and Walk the Moon.

Ok so you and popstop both need to check out "Sedona". Don't know if it will be your cup of tea or not but I loved it and, in fact, the whole album was pretty darn good. But this is like right up my alley as far as musical preferences.
You know I did end up liking the DJ Snake version more than the original. Like you said, both are good.

Albie's All-Format Top 100 of 2015
While I'd like to make this more suspenseful and drawn out, I am on the road now and I don't have time. So here we go with the Top 5 songs of 2015!
Only forty points separate the #5 from the #1 song so needless to say it was a tight race! This was actually really fun to watch throughout the year. Toward the first half of the year, I was sure nothing would catch up to "King" and that I'd end up at #1 but "Cigarette Daydreams" just wouldn't give up and then "Ship To Wreck", "Outta My Mind" and "Dead Inside" entered the race and...well, you see how that ended up. Overall, I'd say this top 5 (and top 10) are a fair assessment of my preferences over the year.
Thank you all so much for following along! I had fun doing this, especially with the Top 100 all-format. I will be getting back on track with my weekly charts at some point in the next few weeks. I am actually behind as I haven't updated the chart itself in the last two weeks but I'll get back to my regularly scheduled programming soon. Thanks all!
#'s 5-1
#5.
The Arcs “Outta My Mind” | Total Points: 1982 Peak: 1 (3) Weeks on Chart: 23** Chart run: 80-63-51-39-31- 18-13-9-5-2-1-5-1-1-2- 6-6-13-25-44-58-73-81-
| Well so I'm a fan of Dan Auerbach and everything he has to offer so it was exciting when he announced this side project called The Arcs. This psychedelic type of rock sound is right in my wheel house and with Dan on vocals it just could not miss. This song is still charting though it is on its way out but it managed 3 big weeks at #1 which not too many songs did and with a really steady climb and fall, it scored nice points that make it the #5 song of 2015. This is the only entry for The Arcs. | | #4.
Years & Years “King” | Total Points: 1996 Peak: 1 (3) Weeks on Chart: 24 Chart run: 71-52-39-28-8- 6-3-4-3-1-2-1-3-1-3-4- 8-18-33-49-63-72-76-82
| So I think I pretty well sang all the praises for this song during my dance countdown, but suffice to say that I think its perfect. I love Olly on this one because he is so into it - I believe his performance and it makes me feel what he's singing. And you can jam to it! This did end up as the #1 song on my dance chart and it was able to spend 3 weeks at #1 on this chart. It was such a tight race and I'm not surprised it ends up at #4 for the year. This is the highest entry on the chart for Years & Years. | | #3.
Florence + The Machine “Ship To Wreck” | Total Points: 1999 Peak: 2 Weeks on Chart: 28 Chart run: 95-75-61-41-27- 22-17-18-13-11-10-11-12- 13-12-8-6-3-2-3-6-13-25- 42-52-74-88-98
| My Rock Queen Flo! Probably a well-known fact that I think she is flawless. I really, really enjoyed How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful but I enjoyed nothing else nearly as much as I enjoyed "Ship To Wreck". So much yes to this folksy but rocky, upbeat sound! Its a side of Florence that I most enjoy. Plus the writing. Well she's always on point. I was in a funk when I first heard this song so the theme really hit home. Why, oh why couldn't I get it to #1?? Well its ok it managed a #2 peak and 28 huge weeks on the chart with a really long climb to its peak. So it ends up as the #3 song of 2015. This is the highest entry for Flo+. | | #2.
Cage The Elephant “Cigarette Daydreams” | Total Points: 2000 Peak: 1 (2) Weeks on Chart: 33 Chart run: 90*-85-72-55-49- 20-8-4-3-1-1-2-4-9-9-10-19- 31-39-48-57-62-68-70-75-78- 81-85-90-94-94-99-99
| Loved Melophobia and this was, by far, my favorite song to come off that album. Everything about it just sound so honest and I can really believe Matt Shultz and the emotion on this. I like the sort of down tempo vibe to it as well. It clicked instantly with me. This song had a pretty quick rise to #1 where it spent two weeks in a row - any number of weeks in a row is tough to manage on my chart. Then it had a super duper slow descent as I just could not put the song away. So it tallied 33 weeks on the chart which gives it the 4th longest chart run of the year and the #2 position for 2015. This is highest entry for CTE. | | #1.
Muse “Dead Inside” | Total Points: 2022 Peak: 1 (2) Weeks on Chart: 25 Chart run: 85-58-40-21-14- 9-6-3-1-3-1-4-5-4-4-7-9- 16-25-34-39-63-70-81-93
| Here we are at #1! Yay for one of my top 5 favorite bands taking the throne - congrats to Muse! Super stoked when they gave us new music this year and then to have this be the first single well I just about wet myself. Its everything I ever want Muse to do - darker lyrics with tons of emotion and a rockin' beat fueled by synthy goodness! How could I not be in love. And then it was cool to see how this song kind of threads into the rest of the album as its also the album opener. It ended up with 2 weeks at #1 and 12 big weeks in the top 10 plus a slow fall off the chart so points galore. Super happy to see this as #1 (although I would have been ok with anything in the top 5 falling in order within the top)! | |

Really excellent finish. I would have liked to see King #1 here as well, but a #4 finish is respectable, and I can't complain since I am a fan of Muse as well. That was fun, thanks :)

Number four should really be number one, j/k. Agreed with you about this year being great with music as well! Makes me a little misty eyed to see number 12 on your list too, but is that's shocking? Anyway, great list and taste as always.

I'm especially loving that top five and how high Billie and Carly are. <3 Thanks Justin! <3 I was hoping to see Billie in the top 10 but I'm ok with how close she came.
