The next single from the newcomer according to Country Aircheck. She's already filming the video, which will feature Tyler Hilton of One Tree Hill fame.
Should mention it goes for adds on February 19th.

The next single from the newcomer according to Country Aircheck. She's already filming the video, which will feature Tyler Hilton of One Tree Hill fame. Should mention it goes for adds on February 19th. A couple of weeks ago Taylor was being interviewed on KKWF 100.7 The Wolf in Seattle. Fitz in the Morning asked her if she had a new single coming up and she said "yes, it's a song called 'Teardrops on My Guitar'", and she said that she hoped they would play it. I like this song, but in my opinion, it really isn't the strongest of her other songs. I'm worried that it won't do as well as "Tim McGraw" did, so maybe her label will hesitate to release her other terrific songs. I would have preferred "I'd Lie", or "The Outside", "Mary's Song (Oh my, my, my)", or even "Tied Together With a Smile". I'm sure you will all have your opinions about those songs, but I really think that "I'd Lie" is my favorite Taylor Swift song. I like them all, though. I wish her the absolute best.

Is this song a ballad? Why not go for something more fun like "Picture To Burn"

Picture to Burn is the absolute WORST song on that CD imo....well that coaster of a CD. Man was I disappointed. 2 good songs and that's it. I think after Tim McGraw runs its course, that she will have ran her course as well. As much as I wanted to like her, I was just greatly disappointed.

I actually AGREE WITH STEELO on a topic. "Picture To Burn" is NOT a good song to release as a single. She is much better than that song. Uh, Hey Steelo, I know you have no use for me or anything, but I was wondering if you've heard the song "I'd Lie" by Taylor Swift? It's her best, in my opinion. Have a nice day. By the way, what is the other of the "2 good songs"?? Thank you.

I can't place that song as I heard that CD once and it's collecting dust right now. The only other song I really even cared for was Mary's Song (Oh My, My, My). I was also disappointed with Liz Rose with this CD as she has been quite a hit songwriter too and she co-wrote quite a bit of the material with Taylor.

I mentioned earlier that she will be GAC's 'Artist of The Month' for February, but February 19th seems at least a few weeks too early for this song to be going for adds.
Since Rascal Flatts, Sugarland and Tim McGraw just went recurrent this past weekend, her current single has soared to #5 at Mediabase, and has certainly NOT peaked yet.
If 'Tim McGraw' DOES get to #1, that going-for-adds date will have to be pushed back.

This wasn't the right single to release at all. I love her CD and I love her, but I expect this to flop in a bad, bad way.
They should have gone with 'Oh My, My, My' followed by 'Our Song'.
I doubt she even gets a third single now. :(

It might not make the top 10, but I do expect it to make the top 20. Even if it does flop, I don't know why she wouldn't get another single. Her album just went gold, and she already has a top 10 single under her belt (not to mention the fact that she's only 17 years old). After this is done, I hope they go with "Our Song" or "Should've Said No" followed by "Oh My, My, My" to close out the album.

It has really grown on me, and with the success of "Tim McGraw," she has a lot of momentum built in for radio to add this new single.

I think that's where I bought the CD from but I screwed up on getting the free download so I was never able to hear that song.

I couldn't have gotten my CD from Best Buy, seeing as the nearest Best Buy to me is about 4,000 miles away.
Personally, I do like Taylor's CD. I didn't hear any bad songs on it, or even mediocre songs. And I love "Picture To Burn".

I realize that this isn't an "mp3 sharing service" as it states very clearly in the rules, but I really think that if someone has the means, that they ought to post a link for people to hear "I'd Lie". I just really think it's good, but it sounds like since it's a bonus track that it will never be released as a single. That's really too bad. Thanks!

Wow, I'd Lie is a very impressive song. I'm stunned how that didn't make it on the CD... it's better and more radio-friendly than any I've heard on it outside of "Tim McGraw."

The chorus reminds me of "Girl Next Door." Hmm..I hadn't thought of that. I LOVED "Girl Next Door", but the sound of the song is completely different, even though the message may be similar. I hope people get a chance to hear this song, I wasn't really looking for a download link, just a link so that people could listen to the song, like on a myspace page or something, but that will do until they decide to remove the link. I don't think thousands of people are going to be clamoring to download the song, but it will be of interest to Taylor Swift fans to at least hear the song. Thanks for doing that! Have a great day!

The song has really grown on me, too, but I still just don't see it as a single....if SHeDAISY can't score a Top 20 with a masterpiece like 'In Terms of Love', a decent song like this by another well-put together female artist shouldn't be able to make it, either. I have serious doubts. 'Oh my, my, my' was surefire to me.

It was coming off a weak perfomance from the previous single (fumbled by the record company), and 2. Country radio doesn't typically play masterpieces. They prefer ordinary radio-friendly country songs.

You guys are BOTH right. I sure hope her record company doesn't screw up her career like has happened to other artists. Fortunately, she's talented enough to hopefully ovecome any ineptitude by her record label. In my humble opinion, her best song isn't even on the CD that most people got, it's only on the special CD that was sold at Best Buy, "I'd Lie". I love that song. And I absolutely agree that "Teardrops" is NOT the best choice for a single, I really think one of the more upbeat sounding songs would have been better. Even if this song doesn't do well, I still think "Oh My, my, my " has a chance. What does "radio-friendly" mean anyway???

This was the song I loved the most when I first bought the album, but I really wish she would have went with My My My. I would have loved to have seen a video to it that follows the story of the song.
But everyone I know loves Teardrops, and when I met her at a signing, I told her it was my personal favorite. Maybe I'm the one that swung her opinion? ;)
I just don't like the she says, "Drew looks at me." I wish she would have just said, "He looks at me."
Hopefully this will do well and My My My will follow third.

I really can't see them releasing 3 ballads in a row so I doubt that although I would have gone with Oh My, My, My as well.
