I have probably said this somewhere before, but I really wish they'd re-release the album with the TOMG edit on it. I LOVE the edit, and I have played the video (which basically is the edit) over 70 (Yes, 70!!!) times on my iTunes. I think it would be a pretty good idea. The radio mix of Teardrops AND Our Song (even though I cant really tell the difference in the Our Song versions lol) are on the re-released edition of the cd on November 6th!

Okay so first of all
they ARE officially sending it to pop! SCORE!
second of all..
I'm devastated at that mix =( The regular mix is doing fine, they didn't have to go all Can't Fight the Moonlight and change it up to a bad club mix. I just really hope it does catch on, just not as this version.

It sounds, just, ugh. Not good. The original has raw emotion. The pop version has no emotion.

It's still a dumb, greedy and unconscionable move.

Then I guess rereleasing "Let it Go", "Enjoy the Ride", and "Me & my Gang" (they rereleased it with Life is a Highway) was a dumb, greedy, and unconscionable move also?

I really see the re-release as a favor to the fans. It's not like the original is gone forever. You can still go buy it anytime you want. But this gives the fans three new songs, the radio versions of the singles, and a disc with the music videos and live performances.

I can't stand it either when an artist re-releases an album. I agree that it's VERY greedy. However, I see how it's a smart marketing move, especially for an artist who is seeing tons of success. Seems like a guaranteed way of maintaining that level of success a bit longer.

WTF are they doing to poor to the poor girl, that is awful compared to the original> If you ask me they are trying to blow her up too fast, her songs can cross without being change and although there may be a short term win in the long term its gonna hurt her .... She has so much talent, let her develop .....

I never liked this song. (Not a fan of Taylor Swift) but I see how girls can relate to it and I think that the original version could have crossed over fine. This veraion however, is unbearable...

Hopefully they took it down, scrapped the version, and fired whoever thought about releasing that version to pop instead of the original.

I really don't understand the concept of making "pop" versions of beautiful songs. It always bothered me that Rascal Flatts did it too. The songs are good just the way they are, why tweak the instruments? The basis of the song is country... it has a country sound. Taylor is country. Why mess with that? If people won't listen to a song because it has a little bit of a country twang, then so be it.
"Before He Cheats" was distinctively country... had the twangs and all and the fiddle in there. It did well on pop radio as is. Isn't that an example? I just don't see why labels are still making pop versions... there's no need.
Oh well.. rant over. Hope this has a nice chart run. :)

Also - the link to that pop version above is definitely what was sent to radio stations. That version is also on AllAccess, which is what stations use to download new songs that are released to radio.

It's still a dumb, greedy and unconscionable move. I think she should not have remixed the songs for pop. They might have crossed over without a pop version. I don't agree at all with this decision but good luck to her in the long run!

Is the pop version gonna be on the re-release? I SURE HOPE NOT. It's horrible.
