That article a) gave me #FOMO because I now want to hang out with Lorde and b) made me want the album YESTERDAY. UGGGH! Can't believe it's 2 months away still but I am happy I also get to see her play new stuff live too!

She's playing at Glastonbury this year. This is an insane lineup. I wish I could attend it π

"Homemade Dynamite" is rumoured to be the next single of the album after a playlist on Spotify with the title was created on her profile.

Performing at the BBMAs. New single by then? I doubt she would perform Green Light when it is done (already gone from Pop Top 50 and nearly gone from the top 100 on iTunes despite the discount)

Hopefully there's some uptempos on here. I enjoyed "Ribs" and "Tennis Court".

Why are 4 songs the same? Liability/Sober and their other versions? It's not like the album has 16 songs for this to be fine.

This album feels like such a non-event. I really hope the music is solid to compensate for how hard she sophomore slumps.

We know "Sober II" is quite a bit different from "Sober" thanks to her performances of both, so hopefully "Liability" will be too (and that both are full enough songs, and not like 1:30 each). Also hopeful that the two-parter "Hard Feelings/Loveless" is like eight minutes long, ha. (Also, since "Green Light" obviously didn't happen, can we get a new single started, please?)

Are they going to release another single to radio before the album release or....?

Well... I guess this pretty much confirms that she's performing "Green Light" tomorrow at the BBMAs.

The second single should have been out a month ago. This is kind of embarrassing.

^ True It's actually a bit alarming that 'Green Light' only spent 8 weeks in the Top 20 of New Zealand where she originated Even 'Yellow Flicker Beat' had 14 weeks there! ('Royals' had 17 at first; then re-entered to collect a total of 40 weeks)

This reminds me of when Meghan Trainor did No there last year after it was falling on radio and she had already started pushing the second single on other formats.
I'm surprised that they've done literally nothing to even try to make up for the lack of a lead single being present anywhere when they had 2 months.
I think she'll still get a decent opening in the US, but it's going to fall hard most likely after the first week.

She really hasn't promoted this album and that's not a good thing. I'll never understand why she took that break at the start of her career and now that she's staging a comeback she's not really promoting it, I'm confused...

I really can't see her opening with more than 50k in the US.

Supposedly it was going to be Homemade Dynamite and be released this Friday. However, I wonder if plans are going to be changed after the events at Ariana Grande's concert in Manchester. After a bombing with a homemade explosive device, it probably isn't a good idea to release a song called Homemade Dynamite just yet.

The rumour that the new single is "Homemade Dynamite" began later last month with a playlist on Spotify with the same name on her profile, but it increased yesterday with the tweet below. Besides that, there's no evidence that "Homemade Dynamite" is the new single. However, in case this is true and her team were planning to release this as the next single, I agree with you that it's a bad timing to push this. I think the best would be to go with "Sober" (in case they want to go with a track she already performed live) instead and release "Homemade Dynamite" after this.
As a side note, the credits of the songs are out. All of them were written by Lorde and Jack Antonoff, with the exception of "Green Light", where Joel Little has writing credits on it and "Homemade Dynamite", which was co-written by Lorde with Tove Lo, Jakob JerlstrΓΆm and Ludvig SΓΆderberg. Jack doesn't have any involvement with this one.

Having a song called Homemade Dynamite was always going to be risky in this day and age ...

Yeah, this is a strange album campaign. "Green Light" was over forever ago, why have they done nothing? Like NADA (I guess the BBMAs). Is this still coming out in June?
That being said, that BBMA performance solidified for me what a great song "Green Light" is. It deserved so much better.

I didn't know what to expect from her second album, either in sound or success, but I'm surprised by the strategy (or lack thereof). I listened to "Green Light" twice and really disliked it both times, and didn't hear its potential at all, but still...why just let it, and all the hype, die such a long death?
Oh, and releasing anything titled "Homemade Dynamite" right now would be such an insane error in judgment that I truly can't believe it's still on the table. The song could never be good enough to overcome the Manchester bombing association.

A song from Melodrama will be out this Thursday at 2pm. NYC time / Friday at 6am. NZ time. The lyrics aren't from "Homemade Dynamite" or "Sober", so looks like it's a new one, apparently "Perfect Places". https://www.instagram.com/p/BUueehQhRtQ
