Uptown Funk still has a huge lead on airplay. It's still 45m ahead of TOL and that's falling hard. Next song with a bullet is Style and that's 70m away.

Plus it's still doing hugely on streaming, and it's not showing any signs of slowing down on iTunes. It's clearly the most dominant force on the charts since Happy or even Blurred Lines. It won't be leaving #1 anytime soon and has year-end #1 pretty much in the bag.

At this point it kind of has decade #1 in the bag. Something else would have to just be one of the biggest hits ever between now and 2019 to stop that. Ironically enough, last decade's #1 came at this same point in the decade: We Belong Together in 2005.

I'm not Uptown funk biggest fan, but i would appreciate it way more if dethrones that atrocity from number one of the decade

Yeah I remember "Rude Boy" exploding really quickly, reaching a really high airplay peak (for the time), and then tumbling down just as fast. It was weird.

I don't get the intense negativity that pops up in here from time to time. I get that people aren't going to like every hit, but to see people routinely rooting against certain songs ("Stay With Me", "Blank Space", "Thinking Out Loud", "Sugar", just to name a few) and act like they're some kind of offensive, insufferable travesty...I just don't get. I can't recall the last No. 1 (or even Top 10) that I PASSIONATELY disliked (well..."Black & Yellow" comes to mind. I never actually listened to "Hot Boy", so maybe that would've made the list too.)

I guess I'm just surprised by some/most of the recent hits that people seem to have very passionately negative opinions about (unless it's coming from someone who's against mainstream/chart music in general.)
