GT had 2 SNOL spins so it gained back the one it had lost last week and it kept the 2 OHP spins it had. It's up to #47 overall and #17 Pop on itunes having gained steadily since being listed in the Hot Tracks section on the main page (not on the pop page though).

Is this song starting to take off? He's at #25 on the published chart for CHR and #43 on iTunes. Good for him.

Song has been out almost 3 months. Think it's on day 84 on pop. Still not feeling this. More than anything I'm amazed at how much radio has supported this even w/ all the lightweight updates. It's like they really, really want him to smash. I just don't think the quality has been there w/ the music (this song included). I think it's more heavy promotion/ endless radio interviews, maybe PDs liking him personally, and has a great team etc..than the music. If it wasn't for radio support (on whatever level) song prob. wouldn't be close to to the top 100 on iTunes. This week will most likely determine its fate. Again, once a song gets to around 100 days on pop that's usually do or die.

If it wasn't for radio support (on whatever level) song prob. wouldn't be close to to the top 100 on iTunes. Agree. I think this can be applied to most pop songs nowadays, actually. Even for some big names, it'd be hard to keep their songs within top 100 without airplay. As for this song, I really think it is his best single to date. All his previous ones felt kind of meh to me...but I love LOVE this one. Happy to see it taking off again! :)

The fact it's still struggling to go above #120 or so on iTunes (even w. it being top 30 on pop) prob. means if it doesn't pick up in the next week or so, I can't see continuing to get positive gains. You've been proven definitively wrong

Again, once a song gets to around 100 days on pop that's usually do or die. ` Couldn't it be argued that radio has actually been holding this song back? I remember when it first went for adds - at the same time as Minaj's, Night Is Still Young. At that time, Ghost Town was about 700 spots above the Minaj track on iTunes. Then of course the Minaj song raced up the radio charts, which in turn, pushed it up the iTunes charts. That song has already peaked. As with all Adam's singles - this hasn't really been given the radio support to smash properly - yet another slow and steady climb that will mean early spinners slowing down before late ones get on board. I'm glad Cumulus has started spinning - it always seems to be those guys that are late to the party and the song has seen substantial sales and spins movement as a result. It isn't just 43 overall on itunes but also around 300. Last I heard it was about 75 on overall airplay, so isn't it performing exactly as one would expect? I would really love it if just one time, US radio gave an Adam single a proper chance to really smash! Spin the hell out of something right from the get go like they do with so many other artists and see what happens? ETA: Just wanted to add, not really complaining about radio - he has seen much more support for GT than anything during Trespassing era - I just wish one time they'd give him the chance to really smash. Perhaps the next single if they can get GT a good enough run.

Again, once a song gets to around 100 days on pop that's usually do or die. Just the opposite. Radio is obviously still reluctant or at least a bit unsure about Adam. But now that the AI is slowly creeping up, it's obvious the general public is buying the song. If someone really, really wanted him to smash, they would have played him right out of the gate. Of course radio is helping iTunes, just like everyone else.

Hasn't every week since April 21st been the week to determine this songs fate? I've been reading how this song is done but it keeps chugging along.
I think this song is just a slow grower. It's very different than most of what is on radio right now so radio didn't jump right on board and it takes a few listens until it clicks but once it does this song is a jam.
it is #41 on iTunes overall. It looks like it never climbed past #39 on the initial release so it's possible it could reach a new peak on iTunes.

It seems like for the most part as it gains airplay it increases in sales. I would assume that means when it's heard people like it and buy it. I remember when it first got on the Weekend "American Top 40" syndicated radio show it's sales when up quite a bit. I believe they also increase with most of his promo appearances. I think when people hear it they buy and like it? Maybe I'm miss understanding your post????

I agree and I really don't understand why that is. Adam is arguably the best male singer to come along in a very long time, his music is pretty decent (or at least no worse than the other stuff that gets massive radio play), his look is fresh and edgy and he's such a nice guy so what is radio's hesitation? It is more than a little puzzling to me.

This and Like i can have the most erratic chart runs in a good while. When you think they are going to flop they resurrect and when you think they are really going to rise hard they start bad updates again
