I really don't get radio. The song picks up on iTunes and that's when they start dropping it? Where is the logic I that? Also, it seems like whenever he goes out of the country radio pulls back their support. It is really frustrating seeing how Adam doesn't get the same treatment by radio as other artists whose music isn't as good.

I think it could be the effect of some songs really getting a lot of expossure now like 5SOS or OD new songs.
It's clear that some artist are ignored to play others. There are some really unfair cases like Rachel Plattern, i don't like Fight song, but it's clearly unfair that someone who is constantly selling a lot (without being a known singer) is getting passed for people who are not doing so well as her. Shawn Mendes is being basically ignored, and his song is top 20 on itunes.
Hopefully Ghost town will be able to hold there, because Adam really needs a decent hit to establish himself on radio, and the song is doing quite well on itunes right now

This song’s run on CHR has been so unpredictable who knows where it’s heading at this point. It looks like it could be peaking - but then again, it has looked like it was about to peak in the past too, and somehow it continued to hang in there or even climb up a bit.
The sales increase on iTunes should give it a new peak on the Hot 100 next week though, so even if it is peaking that’s something at least.

Seeing some of the songs above it, I think it should have gotten a top 20 peak at least. Sales, streaming, BB100 and callouts are better than a couple other songs above it- especially for its low AI. Then, again, you have Shawn Mendes. At least he gets spins on Disney and Sirius though.

This sounds fantastic on the radio. Heard it for the first time on one of my stations recently. I'm still not convinced this is done. It's always screamed slow burn hit. Some songs just have a slow rocky ride up the charts, but they get to a decent spot eventually. I think that's this song. Also, if it can hang on another month or so I think Fall will be better to it than summer. Sounds Fall-ish.

is that really what appearing on the voice did for the song and the album? that is crazy! It was already in the top ten and rising but yeah. It sent it to number one and sent the album from somewhere in the 20s to number one. He's having a great few days of promo down under

Dunno when the chart week starts/ends in Australia but for now it's looking like it may hit #1 or very close to it. I'm only basing that on iTunes sales. Dunno how much streaming and all the other factors. More importantly, it's all about when the chart week ends. One Direction had a major lead up until last night. Looks like he may be pulling a P!nk over there lol. Unfortunately, aside from that one country and a few Euro markets the song is either flopping or doing mediocre. Don't even wanna know where his new album sales stand in the US.

Don't even wanna know where his new album sales stand in the US. Actually the song is still building in a lot of markets. It has surpassed WWFM's top performance in the Netherlands and has been rising steadily in Germany. It's gotten a BBC Radio 2 B list add and that is better than any of his previous songs have done. It's been #1 for weeks in South Africa and is now shooting up the radio charts in Mexico. The single is doing it's job and raising his profile in a lot of areas. While of course we fans would love to see him burning up the charts the reality is that he's not been present on Pop radio since IIHY in 2010 so GT so far has been a nice reintroduction. The biggest disadvantage to having come off of Idol is that his celebrity profile has been ahead of his position as an artist and that makes assessment of where he should be on the charts difficult. People tend to think that his songs should be burning up the charts but in reality he's not an established pop artist where radio is concerned. He is still a newbie in that respect and GT is having a fairly respectable run when you look at it like that.

This can't be repeated enough! Adam is a bigger celebrity than he is a musical artist at the moment because he was so well known before he had music out for the public to hear/buy.
I just looked at itunes Australia and the song and album are still #1, which is fantastic!! This to me shows that there is definite interest in Adam's music on a global scale!

Didnt Mr Know It All by Kelly Clarkson also hit #1 there (only place it did) due to the Voice or another mega competition show? Seems Aussies reeally pay attention/eat up songs by American artists performed on their competition shows lol

Down to a bullet of 34. I think the end is in sight. I find it amusing that the US does not use Lambert like foreign nations do considering he got his starts on American Idol lol. I think sticking to Queen would be the best bet for him tbh.

I think sticking to Queen would be the best bet for him tbh. He would basically be a cover artist if all he did was Queen. They aren't putting out new music these days so he would never have anything to tour with on his own. Those Queen guys aren't exactly spring chickens either so how long can they tour realistically speaking?
Adam is a solo artist who just needs the right song to hit.

Anyone know what day the singles tracking period ends in Australia? Think he's been #1 on iTunes since late Sun/early Mon? That would be about 1 1/2 days though it looks like 1D is starting to gain again. Though One Direction def. had a massive lead days before. Also, does Australia also go by streaming and other services like the US, UK and other countries? If so, I'd think One Direction would have an advantage. Again though it's all about what day the tracking starts/ends.

Is Adam expected to reach #1 on the Aria charts for Ghost Town? I think top 5 might be doable but I don't expect a #1 ARIA position.

Our chart is currently sales-only, I think. I don't know what sales 1D were pulling in during their first couple of days, but if Adam holds on through the rest of the sales week he MIGHT close the gap on them and sneak ahead for #1. The trouble is that Adam hasn't been leading for the entire sales week (we were already on a Fri-Thurs cycle).
