I kinda like this. The lack of a catchy melody/hook is a problem for radio. Don't see this being big but good luck! This. I was expecting something more immediate but I don't hate it. Definitely won't be an instant smash but hopefully it's not given up on too quickly.

I think this song grows on you! I like it! Not surprised it is dropping on iTunes. He is not well enough known in the US now to keep selling without radio play. Many people have forgotten him.

He has a loyal fanbase, but he doesn't have a hit in five years, so the chart run on itunes till now it's pretty normal. Hopefully it won't drop too much, it's better if the song is not that far from the top 100 when the promo begin. What's important right now is this receiving airplay, the four early adds are hopeful but we don't know if this is doing well or not. In the long run the airplay is what is going to make the difference for this song

What is surprising, given the Queen connection, is this not making the top 1000 in the UK on release. Unless I'm missing something....

Well, he never had a hit there. Never close my eyes is his only top 20 and For your entertainment his only other top 40 hit. He is perfect for the UK market, but he is going to need to do a good amount of promo there. Singing with Queen make him more popular now, but it's not going to make the whole work

It's not pushed though, UK usually releases later than US. I'm not surprised though. Pre-ordering an album with only one song heard, in a market where he's not that known outside of Queen. It's gonna take promo and them actually hearing the album.

Still surprised at the very low preorder performance though. nothing has been pushed back in the UK...that's just how it done there...release song to radio, single released for sale about 6 weeks later, album released the week after that...same thing they did last time around, same thing other artists do..he's never had a big hit in the UK...Queen raised his visibility but I doubt Queen fans are going to be running to pre-order a pop album before he comes back to the UK for promo/or they hear a song on the radio (and I doubt that the majority of Queen fans will even be interested in his solo work, although some might) this is actually getting a nice initial response from radio in the US...KIIS is playing it, both san Francisco pop stations are playing it, some other big pop stations like philly are playing, some big hac stations are playing it...if only half the stations that played the song in the last 2 days add it next week it will be his biggest add week in years...nice to see for a guy who hasn't had anything new in 3 years or a major hit in 5....no predictions on how it will ultimately do, but his label seems to be making an effort and, at least initially, radio seems receptive...this song is stuck in my head

Why would they try to release this to Pop? It's not suited for Pop at all. It's definitely more of a club-dance song...but even then, the tempo is kinda underwhelming.

After listening the song more time it's pretty clear he is going to rely on radio give this a try. The song sounds a little weird at first listen, but it's a feeling that fade away the more you listen the song, it's nothing new, it happens the same with the Skrillex and Diplo song with Justin Bieber and i have a similar reaction with We found love (i loved Rihanna's part at first listen but i had to get used to the music on the chorus before embrace the whole song).
It's a risky choice for someone who didn't have a hit in five years, but it won't matter if it ends working

I agree it's like We Found Love to Me in structure, which I did love. Even Problem's hook is the horns.
Video is supposedly coming out 4/28 and directed by Hype Williams.

All I know is his publicist on twitter has been telling his fans that the UK release date for sale is June, a week before the album. But on sale everywhere else in the world on the 21st.

Preorders very rarely do well on iTunes in any region unless the artist is in very high demand.

There's really no other similarity between the songs but every time he sings "And Now I Know My Heart..." I hear "I Knew You Were Trouble...", they sing with the same sort of intonation.

Regarding the UK, Ghost Town is not released there yet and it is not on the radio yet. Capital has tweeted about it and posted the lyric video on their website. The tweet was very positive, so seems like they will play it. Capital✔ @capitalofficial . @adamlambert's new single 'Ghost Town' has arrived - and it's pretty brilliant capitalfm.co/57QZRC 12:31 PM - 22 Apr 2015 >> Even with the lack of radio airplay right now for Ghost Town in the UK and the single release date of June 9th, the UK album presale made it into the Top 10 on iTunes. Based on KWORB's chart, The Original High was the #3 album in the world on iTunes for about 24 hours. **** Regarding sending this track to pop radio -- 18 US stations are playing it includng KIIS LA and Q102 Philly. It looks like it is going to have a good first showing on 4/28/15 when they go for adds. Plus there is a lot of TV lined up and the music video will be released early next week. No certainty that this will be a big hit but it is clear that the promotion is all lined up for it.

This song reminds of Break Free in that the first time I heard the song, I thought all of the elements were very disconnected. As I listened to it more, however, it started to make sense and it didn't feel disconnected anymore.
That is what's happening with this song as I play it more.

Whataya want from me was a big hit on Hot AC (i think it peaked at 2) and even Better than i know myself and Never close our eyes did way better in that format, so it's normal the song starting its chart runs in that format

That beat with the whistle is sick as hell...the way it drops. I love the feel of it.

Added by 99.7 NOW in San Francisco. Not a surprise or much of a sign either way - they seem to add every pop song like this - but it's still another station that's on board.

As per the weekly Mediabase PDF, this was #67 in the final Sunday update with 224 spins. I don't think it's in the top 60 only a day later, it would need somewhere in the vicinity of 200~ more spins to get there.

It is #50 in HAC Monday update, just missed making the Sunday chart I think.
