I guess this would be a more Mariah fan thing, but I’ve always thought “Butterfly” was a bit overrated. Don’t get me wrong I love some tracks, but I always thought most of her other albums are better?

Paint the Town Red sucks. I don't get the fascination with this song. All she does is rap over Dionne Warwick Walk on Bye song.

When Lady Gaga was at her peak, her so-called iconic performances were routinely awful. Frenetic, sloppy and thematically stupid. The only thing worse was when she did stripped-back piano/acoustic versions of her songs.

There isn't a single moment in "Blank Space" where it sounds like she's saying Starbucks lovers. Not sure how that nonsense got started.

There isn't a single moment in "Blank Space" where it sounds like she's saying Starbucks lovers. Not sure how that nonsense got started. I honestly heard Starbucks lovers when I first heard the song. I actually thought she said "go lonely Starbucks lovers" which makes absolutely no sense. When Lady Gaga was at her peak, her so-called iconic performances were routinely awful. Frenetic, sloppy and thematically stupid. The only thing worse was when she did stripped-back piano/acoustic versions of her songs. She loved doing those drama kid stripped-back ballad versions of her upbeat catchy songs during that time. I'm convinced that those performances were a part of what led to the backlash.

Huge Gaga fan. I think she's the best celebrity to ever exist, etc, etc, but I also hate when she does stripped down piano versions of her dance hits. And I love piano pop music and piano ballads but she overdramatizes them and drags them out to such a painful extend when she could just keep them simple and straightforward while throwing in a wild piano solo near the end of at the bridge or something.

"Slut!" has slowly become my favorite of the 1989 (Taylor's Version) Vault tracks. I didn't care for it much at first, but it sort of feels wintery and I really like how hazy and peaceful the production is. That said, I'm glad my original favorite, "Is It Over Now?" was chosen as the single, as there's no way "Slut!" would have had any sort of longevity on the charts, but it has slowly but surely grown on me.

Every Dan Nigro written song sounds exactly the same, and they sound like a rip off of every Joel Little written song from 2015.

I prefer both "Say Don't Go" and "Now That We Don't Talk" to "Is It Over Now?"
"Cowboy Like Me" is one of Taylor's best songs.
"Flowers" is mediocre and should have swapped success with "Midnight Sky", the superior song.
Dua Lipa strikes me as a hitmaker, not a star (if you know what I mean).
I loved Lindsy Lohan's singles.
Jessica Simpson is one artist with an amazing voice who utilizes it in the worst way and has horrible technique.
Christina Aguilera has a truly amazing voice, but sometimes her high notes just sound like screaming and at times her voice is too throaty. Way too many runs. Her lower register is her sweet spot.
I revisit Beyonce more than Lemonade (as a whole).

Break The Rules is the best Charli XCX song IMO.

Taylor Swift has one of the worst renditions of "Santa Baby." A song that Eartha Kitt made into a sultry playful classic; Taylor turned into a bland, generic, vanilla whatever. It honestly sounds like she had no connection to the song and just phoned it in.

Post-grunge doesn’t deserve the hate it gets. Just like hair metal and arena rock before it, it’s mindless radio fodder for casual audiences and that’s why I enjoy it so much. If people are starting to feel nostalgic for those genres why shouldn’t post-grunge be next?
Creed and Nickelback are both fine for what they’re worth. No they’re not supposed to be seen as on par with the Beatles and when you lower your expectations you’ll get some fun rock jams.

Santa Tell Me isn’t a holiday song. It’s an Ariana song with “Santa” in the title. Even as a regular pop song, it’s not very good either. Nothing festive about it. Give me Mariah and Kelly, not this.

Honestly I feel like I cannot stand Mariahs song anymore because I felt like I have heard it way too much and overplay had hit me to the point that the song just annoys me. Santa Tell Me I do not hear as much and it kinda sounds nice and catchy and pleasant to me. So I feel like overplay is the reason for this for me.

What is definitely an unpopular opinion: I much prefer Taylor Swift's early material (Country-Pop) over her Pop stuff post 2012. I really never cared too much for her pop songs once she made the switch, but I did like her early Country-Pop stuff. For me, this is ironic because I prefer Pop over Country in general. Not in her case though. I can't quite explain why.

Not a fan of Nicki Minaj new song Everybody. Love the song it samples, but this was not good sample usage IMO, especially having the "Everybody" part of the song consistantly playing after a Nicki verse, gets very annoying.

There are some least liked albums/songs that I actually much prefer over the fan favorites:
Mariah:
I much prefer Music Box, Emotions, Butterfly, and her debut over Daydream.
I much prefer Charmbracelet and E=MC2 over Memoirs.
We Belong Together, Fantasy, and Always Be My Baby are not among my top faves.
I absolutely dread GTFO and #Beautiful!
Loverboy is one of my faves. Never got why people hate it so much. It's a bop and she looked hot in the video.
Janet:
I always find AFY, Discipline, 20 Y.O., and Dream Street infinitely more enjoyable and better than Damita Jo.
Rope Burn is my least fave track on TVR since the age of 10. Always skipped it in favor of Anything. Just never got turned on by it..ever. 🤷🏾♀️ I like the lyrics and melody on "Anything" so much better.
Runaway has always been among my top faves. So much nostalgia with that one and the video.😍
Madonna:
I love most of her albums, but Erotica and Bedtime Stories are her best to me.
I actually love American Life and Hard Candy.
MJ:
I never truly liked the Thriller song or the video as much as the others. It's actually my least fave song from the album apart from "The Girl Is Mine". It's just not for me. 🤷🏾♀️
Dangerous and Bad were good albums, but as a whole, I definitely think Thriller and Off The Wall are his only best ones. They felt more consistent to me. Just my preference.
Xtina:
I love the Bionic album since it first came out. Not Myself Tonight, Desnudate, Vanity, Bobblehead, Vanity , and I Hate Boys were my jams.
Rihanna:
I enjoyed "Music Of The Sun" and "A Girl Like Me". Actually listened to them more than Rated R.
Beyoncè:
I find Lemonade and Renaissance her most overrated among her discography. B'day, 4, and DIL will always be her best to me.
Destiny's Child:
I actually love the Survivor album. It's my second fave after The Writings On The Wall.

"Good 4 U" sounds nothing like "Misery Business." I mean, it could have been inspiration for it, but definitely nowhere near enough to where Olivia has to actually pay Paramore royalties for it. That's just plain absurd. I do understand why Chainsmokers and Halsey had to credit the Fray though. That tune is the same, but the tunes are NOT the same with G4U and MB.

I heard Nicki Minaj's "Everybody" for the first time today, and I found it to be an abysmal first listen. The constant repetition of the sample was so obnoxious to me and it honestly just sounded like a bunch of noise. (That could in part be because it was the radio edit I heard, and it sounded like there was a lot of words that had to be distorted, but still) I respect anyone's opinion who likes it, but I found it to be an annoying headache of a song.

I felt the same wheh I heard it after the album dropped. I love the song it sampled and had high hopes from the feedback on here but the sample was so intrusive it was like, where’s the flow? Are there verses? I kept waiting for something substantial but it was just half a line with “everybody” thrown in over and over until it ended.

Not a single thing about Olivia Rodrigo interests me--music, persona, visuals, performances, any of it.
