Music that disparages women in any way shouldn't even be thought about let alone released.
You may think that this isn't unpopular but I hear way too much garbage at parties today. Also, some of these music videos...come on.

Just because you're rapping fast doesn't automatically make it good (looking at fans of current Eminem, Joyner Lucas, Logic for this one)

I prefer Justin Bieber’s teen pop stuff (including Baby) to whatever he’s releasing these days

Love The Way You Lie is one of the best songs of the 2010s and the best Eminem song by several degrees

While I like the song and I do listen to it pretty often, I feel like "Blinding Lights" is way too overhyped on this site.

Tyler the Creator, Brockhampton, Frank Ocean, and other acts in this vein fit alternative just as much as urban, and the fact that they don't get any spins shows how heavily racism has been engrained into the format. Music that disparages women in any way shouldn't even be thought about let alone released. You may think that this isn't unpopular but I hear way too much garbage at parties today. Also, some of these music videos...come on. i don't disagree with this notion as a whole, but out of curiosity where do you draw the line?

Also, some of these music videos...come on. i don't disagree with this notion as a whole, but out of curiosity where do you draw the line? First off let me say that 1. I am a devout Catholic that was raised in a religious household and 2. I have seen from experience some of my friends get treated like objects and not only do I hate it, it is also possible I unfairly relate some bad but not necessarily awful songs to these awful people. Anyways, contrary to what some of my friends will tell you, I don't mind songs that talk about a girl and sex. It's when it's written as if the girl is ONLY good for sec or if they are exploited for their bodies and their bodies only in a video like they are enslaved to this garbage. I also can't stand the B-word used at a woman. One of my best friends was constantly called that by her ex-boyfriend and she has never been the same after this emotional abuse. So, long story short some personal experience and the way I was raised just makes me hate it when it seems like women are objects simply used to fulfill a sexual desire and are called hurtful terms when they don't fulfill this need. Like they're not here for you and they're people too. Just treat them that way. Don't put them in a box. Hope I didn't talk myself into a circle. Let me know if this was clear or not.

"Peacock" is one of Katy's best songs. It's better than 6/8 of the extended single list from Teenage Dream imo.

Could've also brought that song up alongside "Blinding Lights" if I remembered to when I made that post.

It shouldn’t only get brought up in response to discussions about sexism against women. “But it happens to men too!!! 😭”

God, yes! As I like to say, it's not about how many E5s or C6s you can reach per performance, but about the emotion you convey through your voice. (which is why the whole current rivalry between Taylor and Ariana stans is so utterly pathetic). That's why I seriously don't get the appeal of the likes of Dimash or Sohyang. Like, sure, they have an impressive vocal range, but their performances feel rather mechanic and devoid of raw emotion, if you get what I mean. On the other hand, even if Selena Gomez doesn't have the best voice, you can't deny she nailed the emotion required for her "The Heart Wants What It Wants" 2014 AMA performance.

Justin Timberlake was better in the 2010s than the 2000s. Including Man Of The Woods.

I mean, it's basically saying that *NSYNC + Justified + FutureSex/LoveSounds < The 20/20 Experience (okay, I can understand that) + Trolls Soundtrack + Man Of The Woods I'm very intrigued to hear your opinion here.

A big part of it is that I find 2000s RnB sounds unappealling in general. I can't stand songs like SexyBack and Cry Me A River. 20/20 Timberlake did it better by layering the instrumentals on songs like Suit + Tie and Mirrors. Those songs have way more weight (and less noticable acapella beats). I don't remember the Trolls soundtrack that well but I liked Can't Stop The Feeling in 2016. Man Of The Woods I realize a disaster through and through but I like a lot of the ideas on it. (Morning Light, Say Something, a lot of the second half)

^ Fair enough. If that's your opinion, I respect it. After all, Timbaland's production can be a bit offputting for some, especially his heavier production work from the 2000s like in "SexyBack" (which is either hailed as a masterpiece or a dissonant cacophonous mess).

Speaking of Timberlake, Say Something is just as bad as the song Filthy. I kind of don't get the praise for that song.
