Can you buy individual tracks via Apple Music? because surely Apple wouldn't want to kick itself/iTunes in the keister.

Cant Feel My Face better not hit Number 1 before Cheerleader, Cheerleader needs to be Number 1 before Cant Feel My Face takes over, if it ever does, Idk why everyone likes that overrated Weeknd song, both Weeknd songs are overrated, also Classic Man is coming for that Number 1 spot in near future as well, so we will see what ends up happening How are both of the Weeknd songs overrated??! They, especially "the hills", deserve critical claim and no.1 much more than a song full of "ahh ah ahhhhhhhh ahh, ahhhh ahh ahhhhhhh ahhhh, ah ahh ahh ahh ahhhhhh ah ahh ah ahhhhh......."

So when has billboard.com ever had a secret plot to kill off a song? Katy perry's roar, it was killed off the chart in 3 weeks from #27 (#27-#38-#46) and there's something fishy about it. Yiyis's the fox, right after it left top 10, it plummeted off top 50 in only 2 weeks! (#10-#29-#54) Do ye believe that's probable to happen? And... Most obviously, ***'s g**gnam style, spent 7 weeks at no.2 without hitting no.1 and its gap between one more night is teeny tiny.. Eventually it didn't top the chart even though its digital and spotify are way higher than OMN So you tell me, why not?

So when has billboard.com ever had a secret plot to kill off a song? And Taylor's Out Of the Woods should have debuted top 10 but .. "no!!" Says billboard.com. Afterwards, it deducted its digital and let it debuted at #18 only. It should have sold about 300,000 that week but billboard just deducted, deducted, deducted...

Roar most likely fell off because Unconditionally was out as a single and Dark Horse started to blow up. It's not easy to maintain three singles on the Hot 100. The Fox was a viral thing that fell off quickly once the viral-ness wore off (ala Harlem Shake) While I wish Gangnam Style was #1, that was back before streaming was a big component and GS has very little radio while OMN had very high radio numbers

That reminds me of something quite opposed to that yet still reflects billboard.com's carelessness from time to time. I'd rather believe in there's gonna be two moons in the sky than Coldplay's "a sky full of stars" could have peaked at #10.. Trust me, that's wayyyyyyy too real, billboard double counted that song's digital sales for it was kinda tricky that was Coldplay's album week and billboard just conducted some "miscalculation" or otherwise there's no way for that song even to reach top 20!! After all... Billboard.com pretty good huh?

What's your opinions of the Moon Landings, JFK and 9/11? Billboard was behind those too. It's all about manipulating pop culture events to bring certain artists and song styles to the forefront that appeal to the magazine writers

Y'all are crazy. I think there's a chance Billboard will make editorial calls on close races but at most it would change songs a position or 2. Most of the things that seem "fishy" are usually moments where a new rule recently came into effect, or the "fishy" thing triggered them making a rule change later. Also HolidayGuy -- Apple Music eliminates any need to buy a song. You can add almost anything to your library and play it all you want. It's actually MORE difficult to buy a song (at least on an iPhone/iPad) because you have to use the separate iTunes Store app, whereas everything is available via streaming, including your own library, in the "Music" app. I would not be surprised if it has a fairly dramatic effect on sales.

at most it would change songs a position or 2. Well that position or 2 could make a huge difference particularly for songs that ended up peaking at #2/#3 for many weeks (Gangnam Style, Payphone, Bad Romance, Pumped Up Kicks, Good Feeling, etc. and not to mention Problem which was literally a few points away from #1 the week it debuted at #3)...so it can, in fact, make a pretty big difference in the long run in terms of peaks...

Tentative predictions (thanks for Dylan pointing out I left out Where are U Now and for myself for catching Worth It):
1. Cheerleader 2. Bad Blood 3. Can't Feel My Face 4. See You Again 5. Watch Me 6. Shut Up and Dance 7. Trap Queen 8. Good for You 9. Fight Song 10. Honey I'm Good (it's eyelash close between 10-12, imo) 11. Lean On 12. Hey Mama (lack of sales knocks it out) 13. Worth It 14. Uptown Funk (lack of sales, declining radio knocks this out0 15. Where Are U Now? 16. BBHMM (the video will pull it to a new high, but sales?) 17. Cool for the Summer (lack of sales keeps this outside top 10)

I'm referring to the people claiming things like Roar's fall were fishy. BB makes a point of spelling out close races for #1, I don't think they make positional calls that high up. I'm thinking of something like a falling #20 song and a climbing #21 song being virtually tied in points -- I wouldn't be surprised if on occasion they've goosed the #21 up. (And if they did actually tie, they do break ties by giving it to the song that climbed the most that week). We know they make some subjective calls with songs for recurrency, and in the past they have made subjective calls about awarding bullets. And their genre charts often have questionable calls on songs being included at all. But I don't think they're cooking the books on major achievements or punishing particular songs.

Uptown Funk (as much as I loved that song) is dealing with dwindling numbers everywhere. Too many songs are knocking on that top 10 door and I think the door breaks down this week.

Re: GS - one factor that's left out of the equation: album sales - GS (zero), while OMN was the second single off an album that was selling well and OMN did goose those sales. (Not that many would've bought PSY's album, but that would've reduced single sales.) Would it have been cool for a novelty hit that was truly massive and viral and cheesy to hit No. 1 for a week, definitely, but OMN was a smash on its own merits. It's always fun to speculate if there is goosing, etc. However, as pointed out in an earlier discussion, Billboard and the H100 are for the INDUSTRY and not fans, so it is completely objective. ;) We're lucky we live in an era where we now know margins between songs, etc. It's too bad we don't have that historical data because it would've been awesome to know which songs barely made it to No. 1 or had massive leads, but those were also based on easily manipulated data (radio station playlist, record store bestseller lists - without much objective data).
