How likely is it that Cheerleader will hit #1 this week? I was thinking it wouldn't be a possibility until next week at earliest. Very unlikely IMO. SYA is still too far ahead in airplay and streaming.

6. THE WEEKND - Can't Feel My Face: 117.392 (+ 4.126) 7. OMI - Cheerleader: 113.174 (+ 2.052) Wow, CFMF really looks like a huge contender to #1 with Cheerleader. Both will likely top the radio charts (specially CFMF)

I'm ready to SYA to fall Let's hope they adjust the weighting to favor sales considering that total sales have become abysmal due to Apple's latest streaming service and sales will not account for many of a song's points. Ridiculously high streaming weighting is the reason why SYA got past week 8 at #1 (I don't think it's even top 5 on Spotify anymore like wtf). Thankfully, I think it's pretty much guaranteed that Cheerleader will dethrone SYA by next week and that'll be the end of that.

Isn't the formula fixed for the Dec.-Nov. tracking period? If there are adjustments, they would mention it in the article. This usually happens at the 1st week of December.

^They make changes frequently. Harlem Shake was in late winter/early spring I think, and that was triggered by a rule change. Pretty sure they did the same thing with incorporating digital sales ten years ago. If they run the numbers post-Apple Music and there is a dramatic change in sales/streaming, they might adjust the weighting.
I wouldn't mind if they increased the weight of on-demand audio streaming (Spotify, Apple Music) but decreased the weight of video streaming (where songs are often incidental to the visual).

They make changes all the time without telling anyone. It's all corporate greed and corrupt. Should be a no-brainer by now.

Conspiracy theories are fun
Of course Billboard manipulates the charts due to corporate greed and corruption. Billboard will put anything at #1 for the right price - LOL.

Why is Apple Music expected to affect sales so much? Isn't it just another option to streaming, like Spotify?

I was hoping "Bad Blood" would overtake "See You Again" another time before "Cheerleader" began its reign, but oh well. Ewww at "Watch Me" blowing up like that. Just ew.

The hate for "Watch Me" in this thread is predictable and annoying. Just do the dance and enjoy it, damn! It's better than "Bad Blood" anyway!
Yay to "Where Are U Now" going up and "Uptown Funk" FINALLY falling about three months too late. Such a fresher chart!!! Now can that Puth bitch finallly fall already?!

In weeks like this I hate SO MUCH the Youtube streaming, at least if that promotes this... type of music?

***UPTOWN FUNK HAS FALLEN OFF THE TOP 10 - 1 WEEK AWAY FROM TYING RECORD FOR MOST WEEKS IN TOP 10*** > :( Runner up for another major record. In this case, Uptown Funk could rebound to get another week in the top 10. On a side note: looks like See You Again ties the rap record for longest stay at #1 and two weeks shy of the longest stay at #1 this year. This one is a little more weighted towards radio/streaming, I think sales-wise, this is already out of the top 10.

Shocked that Can't Feel My Face didn't go up this week despite those large across-the-board gains...

Haha I just can't get into it. I could at least get behind "Trap Queen," but not this. Nope.
