Many Alternative stations disagree.
They probably thought they had another Lorde (Another questionable genre call in my eyes).

Lorde is definitely more Alternative than Tove Lo. Both are more pop than alternative, but at least Lorde has some fusion elements while Tove is pure pop.

Looks like I was wrong about "Bad Blood" dominating the charts over the summer. As the song drops to #4,the only way it can get to #1 is a vital video or something else like it. 1 week at #1 for "Bad Blood" is better than what "Style" did and is great for a song that is a 4th single off the album. Style is the longterm bigger hit tho by far, as it will have much much higher recurrent airplay. This seems to be really false thinking ? Bad blood is peaking higher on every radio format , has the higher video views , and has already outsold style without its chart run being half over . I still think style will be remembered but bad blood seems to trump it in every way ? |
