So...I admittedly skimmed the article and didn't check Periscope, but did Billboard confirm whether the Radio and Streaming data were overweighted this week?
Since they were on 7-day tracking weeks but sales was on an 11-day tracking week, this week's data would be completely f*cked if Billboard did not recalibrate its methodology.

But didn't Shazam also predict Prayer in C or Clean Bandit as #1's? Maybe it meant UK as well...

Since they were on 7-day tracking weeks but sales was on an 11-day tracking week, this week's data would be completely f*cked if Billboard did not recalibrate its methodology. To quote the article: That doesn't address my question. It simply confirms that on this week's Hot 100: Sales were measured from 6/29-7/9. Radio was measured from 7/6-7/12 Streaming was measured from 7/3-7/9. That methodology disproportionately favors sales, since the sales week is 11 days while the streaming and radio weeks are 7 days. So I'm asking whether each song's Radio and Streaming score was multiplied by 11/7 to account for the difference. The Hills (which is hot from a sales standpoint) rising to #12 makes me think that Billboard forgot to do so.

rip usually there are like four people all posting the Periscope countdown at once and the one time I can't watch, no one else does either lmao They said last week it wouldn't be happening again so I used that time to make a mashup lol

To follow up:
Sales = 276k = 23,000 points Streams = 14.4m = 16,000 points Airplay = 109m = 10,900 points
Sales make up 46.10% of Cheerleader's point total, matching up with "nearly half its chart points from sales".
Unless they weighed down sales by like less than 10%, there wasn't a methodology update this week. *Cue the rage, though not from me; I'm just happy we have a new champ and that sales are getting some rep again*

sorry but this is almost cringeworthy like I don't like that snoozefest either but still You mean there has never been a song that was #1 for an eternity such that it irritated you to the point of wanting a new #1 ASAP? Because that's essentially all I said in my original post. I agree with you. I'm not happy with Cheerleader at number one (Can't stand the song...), but I'm glad See You Again is on its way down. After five weeks I was done with it.

A bit off topic, but I wonder when the next time will be that there is no Chris Brown in any song on the Billboard, when the hell was the last time there was no Chris Brown on any Hot 100 song? I think it was 2 years ago, I mean holy shit, this dude is like on a record or something and he is getting on every damn song, I wont be surprised if he passes Glee Cast with most entries soon, anyone have stats of when last time he was actually off completely on Billboard chats? and again, who knows when he will next be off...

#GlobalSmash I knew Cheerleader would get there eventually the first time I heard it, even if I also knew he is destined to be a one hit wonder. So looks like the only country Cheerleader has missed the top 5 is Finland. WTF Finland, get it together. Too late, we were into that song in March/April. It's Can't Get You Out of My Head all over again (although there we were with the US lol)

Yeah, this week is totally f'd up. I like Cheerleader a lot and want it to be #1, but it doesn't make sense to disproportionately favor sales with an 11 day period and only have 7 days for radio and streaming. It makes the ranking almost completely illegitimate.

No worries for FlopGlee! "So, first, here's a look at the acts with the most Hot 100 hits all-time, regardless of lead or featured credit (through the chart dated July 18): Total, Artist 207, Glee Cast 126, Lil Wayne 108, Elvis Presley 91, James Brown 86, Drake 83, Jay Z 80, Ray Charles 73, Aretha Franklin 72, Chris Brown71, the Beatles 69, Taylor Swift 67, Elton John 67, Kanye West 65, Nicki Minaj 63, Stevie Wonder"

I thought it was continuous up to "The Monster"/"Can't Remember...". How many weeks was the gap between that (2009-2013) and "The Monster".

How many weeks was the gap between that (2009-2013) and "The Monster"/"Can't Remember..."? It was 5 weeks in between "Stay" dropping off and "What Now" debuting ("The Monster" debuted the week after). She also spent 118 straight weeks on the Hot 100 during the Good Girl Gone Bad era. The 2009 gap (between "Live Your Life" dropping off and "Run This Town" debuting) was 16 weeks.

I don't mind "Watch Me" that much until he starts repeating "bop" 40 times. That has always annoyed me.
