Fifth Harmony is so close :'( What is the new radio tracking week, again? If it ends tomorrow, it'll be extremely close, and more than likely won't make it next week </3 I guess radio tracking week ends today, so 5H will probably be 11 again. But it might be up to #9 in a couple of days. Guess Worth It will be top 10 in both airplay and sales next week. If it can pick up on streaming, it'll probably get a new peak.

Sugar also had a +1M update. Something to do with July 4 airplay being deducted?

Any rate, I don't mean to offend anyone who loves tracking AI records. In the not-too-distant past, I was keeping tabs on the "Riptide" "record" on the Hot 100, which I'm sure was totally uninteresting/pointless to many others. Different stuff within the realm of popular-music-charts is bound to attract our individual attention, so whatever brings out your passion, just keep on enjoying it. :) How close did Budapest come to breaking Riptide's record?

not even close
it's spent 23 weeks on the chart so far, that's actually not uncommon for songs that peak below #20, hell "Slow Motion" just reached its 21st week despite only peaking at #26 so far

Elastic Heart is going onto its 27th week and, although it peaked at #17, only spent one other week in the top 30, at #29. In that time it became a huge viral hit, caused extreme controversy, has had a complete rollercoaster on iTunes (started in teens, fell to 30s for weeks, fell to 60s for even longer and now back to 40/30s), made it the top 15 on pop, and after spending months stuck in the top 50-41 range on HAC, has now gone top 30 and still gaining.

pretty sure it's been broken approximately 5,246 times after "blurred lines" so nothing really to worry about Perhaps the Mediabase record has been broken often, but...IDK, I would think that if the Billboard audience record were ever broken that they'd take the time to mention that one. Even with constant audience recalibrations, that record's always carried a little more weight than the random "X weeks in the top such-and-such positions" records that have constantly come up over the past several weeks.

I love that song and wished it had gotten a higher peak.

So predictions will have to come out on Sundays/early Monday then?
1. Cheerleader (finally breaks through) 2. See You Again (stays in two mainly due to the airplay gap) 3. Watch Me (maybe takes number 2 next week?) 4. Bad Blood (other than streaming, still beating Watch Me) 5. Can't Feel My Face (outgained Cheerleader on radio this week) 6. Trap Queen 7. Where Are U Now 8. Fight Song (sales are important) 9. Shut Up and Dance 10. Hey Mama
Next 6: 11. Good for You 12. Honey I'm Good (loses the bullet) 13. Worth It 14. Uptown Funk 15. Lean On (regains its bullet and a bit of momentum) 16. BBHMM (streaming wonder, but a perilous lack of sales)
Others: 20. The Hills 25. Cool for the Summer (I think it goes up some)

So this chart's sales/streaming is based on the period between June 29-July 9.
But what about radio? If it were an eleven-day tracking week, it would be July 1-July 11, but that would leave a one day gap on the chart (since Radio Songs is switching to Monday-Sunday).

I was wondering that too..... maybe it will be 12-day for Radio this week.

I'm so confused. Is the next chart tomorrow or Thursday? And then the next one is next Tuesday?

Weird how tracking week pushed three days, but now we have to wait 5(!) days for results. Funny, everyone else has found a way to get stats and data out faster, but not Billboard.

The tracking week was shifted to accommodate the new international release date, right? It had nothing to do with getting the charts out to fans faster. We've never been their top priority, and since most of us aren't giving them a dime (unless you have a subscription), it's not surprising.
Individuals actually in the industry do get the data sooner, as we've seen from artists Tweeting about chart achievements before any articles have been published for the public, though I'm not sure if anyone knows exactly how early they can/do get the data.

And yet the Spotify charts still struggle to update on time. Which I really don't get at all. The UK charts had to go with Spotify data completely absent this week cuz they couldn't submit on time...

Prediction:
1. Cheerleader (I dread the thought of this being wrong...12 weeks is way more than enough for that other song...) (5% lead) 2. See You Again 3. Watch Me (might fall next week due to sales slide and hopefully streaming decline) 4. Bad Blood (continues to increase in radio) 5. Can't Feel My Face 6. Trap Queen 7. Shut Up And Dance 8. Fight Song 9. Where Are U Now 10. Hey Mama (airplay a key factor here too)

I'm well aware of the reason for the change. My point is that Billboard has always been slow when it comes to churning out data. And, the Top 10 has been published on their site on Wednesday - not just for the fans. Are we to believe that Billboard somehow has been releasing the chart to industry subscribers prior to the previous first postings? I don't think so.

Yes, industry subscribers do get the charts before they are posted online for all message board fanatics to see.

Of course people in the industry can and do get data before the Top 10 preview article is posted on the Billboard website. As I mentioned, artists have Tweeted about chart movements prior to any articles being published. For example, we (the public) first learned about "Fancy" hitting No. 1 because Iggy Tweeted about it. Why would industry subscribers pay what they do if they just had to wait to see the same article that the public gets for free? That said, I don't know exactly how much they know in advance, or when they're given the data.
