Drake's at 94% of One Direction. Hopefully a top 10 debut as well. I definitely like the idea of two Top 10 debuts. I think the last time that happened was the 11/16/13 chart: 1 1 1 18 #1 6 wks Royals, Lorde 1 2 3 3 11 Wrecking Ball, Miley Cyrus 1 3 0 Hot Shot Debut 1 The Monster, Eminem Featuring Rihanna 34 2 2 13 Roar, Katy Perry 1 5 4 4 19 Wake Me Up!, Avicii 4 6 0 New 1 Story Of My Life, One Direction 67 5 5 13 Hold On, We're Going Home, Drake Featuring Majid Jordan 4 8 9 12 28 AG Demons, Imagine Dragons 8 9 8 15 20 Counting Stars, OneRepublic 8 10 7 9 12 Applause, Lady Gaga 4 Somewhat amusingly, that instance also involved 1D and a rapper.

One Direction Headed for Hot 100's Highest Debut of 2015 With 'Drag Me Down'Belying its title, the boy band's new single is set to surge onto the Hot 100, likely in the top five. One Direction is set to blast onto the Billboard Hot 100 with the chart's highest debut of 2015, as its new single, "Drag Me Down," appears headed for a debut likely in the top five.Highlights of the next Hot 100, dated Aug. 22, will be revealed on Billboard.com on Monday, Aug. 10, with the entire chart posting the following day. Industry forecasters suggest that "Drag," released July 31, could sell around 340,000 downloads in the week ending Aug. 6. That handsome sales start, along with building streaming and airplay data, should enable the track to launch so loftily on the Hot 100. "Drag" already debuted on Billboard's Pop Songs airplay chart (dated Aug. 15) after only three days of airplay, at No. 37 with 10 million in radio audience, according to Nielsen Music. It will continue leaping up the list following its first full week of plays. And, prior to the release of a proper video, "Drag" is trending toward more than 5 million U.S. streams through streaming data collected so far for the Aug. 22-dated tracking week. "Drag" is 1D's first recording released since former member Zayn Malik departed the former quintet in March. The track is the lead single from the group's forthcoming fifth studio album, due later this year through SYCO/Columbia Records. Upon its Hot 100 debut, "Drag" should instantly become One Direction's fifth top 10, and likely fourth top five hit. Its introductory smash, "What Makes You Beautiful," soared to No. 4 in 2012, followed by "Live While We're Young" (No. 3, 2012), "Best Song Ever" (No. 2, 2013) and "Story of My Life" (No. 6, 2013). www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/6655950/one-direction-hot-100-highest-debut-2015

How many artists have at least one song peak at each spot of the top 10? The only artist I can think of close (who I pay attention to..) is Ariana with #2, #3, #4, #7 and #9

Using sales/12 + airplay/10000 + streams/900:
"Can't Feel My Face": 140k/12 + 150M/10000 + 16.5M/900 = 45k
"Cheerleader": 144k/12 + 145M/10000 + 15.3M/900 = 43.5k
"Drag Me Down": 340k/12 + 20M/10000 + 6.0M/900 = 37k
"Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)": 90k/12 + 50M/10000 + 18.0M/900 = 32.5k
I'm expecting DMD to debut at #3, just like Payphone, Problem, etc. even without a #1 debut, a 3rd top 3 debut for One Direction is still an impressive achievement!

Madonna jumps to mind, who's had at least one song peak in all 10 spots. Trusting Wikipedia, Aretha has too, but I'm not as personally familiar with her catalog/achievements. Rihanna comes close, but she's never had something peak at No. 10. Same with Taylor, except she's missing a No. 5 hit (counting all of her entries, not just official radio-promoted singles.)

I figured I'd just keep editing that same post while I was digging, which I won't do too much longer, since most of the acts I can think of don't seem to have done it.

So, Can't Feel My Face is essentially back to its relative position as before (minus Drake surging). Judging by how about 4 hours were playing slow catch-up once people realized the song was buyable again, I'd say the song lost a total of about 12.5k sales (10.5k from a half-day and 2k from part of 4 hours). As long as I didn't fumble the math, I think CFMF is still set for a good lead on Cheerleader this week; radio is still a slim margin ahead, the sales gap was wider than 12.5k, and streaming should either be close or ahead.

I think most of the people who wanted to buy CFMF and coudn't because the glitch now bought it later when the glich was fixed, so most of the sales aren't lost

Not sure it is a "glitch", doesn't this happen everytime the "album version" comes out? The song will survive. If it was meant to be #1, a few hours "glitch" on itunes will not matter.

The Beatles are missing #9, but John Lennon and Ringo Starr each had a solo hit reach #9. Other acts missing just one position include Connie Francis (#3), Daryl Hall & John Oates (#10), Elton John (#10), Rihanna (#10), Rolling Stones (#4), Stevie Wonder (#6) and Taylor Swift (#5).

Drake has had a song peak in every spot in the top 10 (if you count featured credit songs)
1. "What's My Name" (Rihanna ft. Drake) 2. "Best I Ever Had" 3. "She Will" (Lil' Wayne ft. Drake) 4. "Hold On, We're Going Home" 5. "Find Your Love" 6. "Right Above It" (Lil' Wayne ft. Drake)/"Started From The Bottom" 7. "Take Care" 8. "Forever"/"F**kin' Problems" (A$AP Rocky ft. Drake, 2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar) 9. "Make Me Proud"/"Love Me" (Lil' Wayne ft. Drake & Future) 10. "I'm On One" (DJ Khaled ft. Rick Ross, Lil' Wayne & Drake)

That's like if you wanna get your art famous, don't be yourself and just follow the formula they make hits..

Maybe even quite soon if they get the My Way remix on iTunes, release a music video for it and Billboard credit him (the original, less popular original version has already managed to peak at #7, so if this happened it'd get top 5 at the very least imo).

Just to clarify, all 3 tracks mentioned (The Hills, Often, and Can't Feel My Face) had already been moved to Beauty Behind the Madness several weeks prior when the album was revealed (this deleted their singles, though some outlets like Google Play still carry them). You could preorder at this point and the 3 tracks could be bought individually or be obtained as instant grats for the preorder. However, on the day mentioned, the three songs, starting with Can't Feel My Face, switched status from individual purchase to album-only. This also meant, someone correct me if I'm wrong, that, even if you preordered, you couldn't get the tracks as grats. This lasted about 12 hours before the situation reverted and the songs were switched back to normal purchase.

If you wanna get your art famous you should be happy enough to be #2, since you most likely already achieved your goal. Unless you really want that #1, which in that case I'm not sure it's about the art anymore.

It's pretty much impossible to say for certain that it being briefly unavailable made it "lose" any sales at all. If a person sought out the song to buy it, they likely returned to try again later. Did it lose out on some sales? Probably. Enough to have a major impact on the tracking week total? Probably not.

You could probably get pretty close to how many sales it lost based on probabilities, iTunes buying habits, and general human buying habits. I bet iTunes has that info, and makes these changes at times when sales are slowest. Labels and iTunes are into maximizing sales not randomly making changes. There's so much data they can sort through to make sure the effect is minimal.

For example, last week I googled Del Mar Beach in San Diego to view the area, beaches, for a website I am creating. Within 3-4 hours I got a call on my cell and the area code was for Del Mar, California. I live in TN. It kinda freaked me out cause I've never googled Del Mar before that. It was some real estate agency or something.
So they have a lot of info on us! Scary.

The Weeknd songs will be fine. Call it a "glitch" if you want, call it something else if you want. At the end of the chart week it isn't going to matter, those songs will ultimately peak at the positions they were meant to peak at.
And I agree with others, if people who were looking for those songs during those few hours of uncertainty and really wanted them, they would have found a way to get them. The "oh OK, I am not buying this at all" group is probably rather insignificant.

Mondays were radio charts, Wednesdays top 10, Thursday Hot 100, and Friday the Irish charts. At least the change was made during the summer so I had time to adjust. Can't Feel My Face back to #1 on iTunes.

Wiz Khalifa's smash has led Billboard's Songs of the Summer chart through the first 10 weeks of the season. But can OMI's debut finish at No. 1?
Never mind back-to-school sales. Displays in stores are already up for Halloween (or, depending on the early levels of holly-jolliness in your specific locale, Christmas).
So, here's some food for thought as you buy candy corns (or candy canes): what hit will win the race for Billboard's No. 1 song of the summer of 2015?
So far, through the first 10 weeks since our annual Songs of the Summer chart returned after Memorial Day, Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again," featuring Charlie Puth, has led the list each week. With five more weeks of tabulation to go, we're two-thirds of the way through the Songs of the Summer tracking period.
As a reminder, the 20-position Songs of the Summer running tally (up from 10 in previous years) tracks the most popular titles based on cumulative performance on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 chart from Memorial Day through Labor Day. At the end of the season, the top song of the summer is crowned.
Below "Again" on Songs of the Summer, Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood," featuring Kendrick Lamar, ranks at No. 2, having held the runner-up spot behind "Again" each week this summer.
It's the song at No. 3 on the Songs of the Summer chart, however, that could have the best chance of dethroning "Again" as the season's top title. OMI's "Cheerleader" has climbed from No. 16 on the season's first tally thanks to its ascent to No. 1 on the Hot 100 dated July 25, replacing "Again" after 12 weeks at No. 1 (beginning April 25). For now, "Again" boasts a fairly comfortable lead in overall Songs of the Summer chart points over "Blood" and "Cheerleader," but, in recent weeks, "Again" and "Blood" have been tallying similar points totals on the Hot 100, leaving Swift's former Hot 100 No. 1 unlikely to catch Khalifa's on Songs of the Summer.
More key to this year's top honoree: with "Cheerleader" at No. 1 on the Hot 100 for four weeks running and "Again" at No. 5 and descending, the breakthrough hit from OMI (born Omar Samuel Pasley) should make the race close for the winner on Songs of the Summer over the next five weeks.
Rounding out the Songs of the Summer's top five, Fetty Wap's "Trap Queen" ranks at No. 4, followed by Walk the Moon's "Shut Up and Dance" at No. 5.
What will ultimately wind up as the hottest season's hottest song? Keep checking out the Songs of the Summer chart, week-by-week, on Billboard.com.

Not a huge fan of the charts coming out on Mondays. I liked looking forward to it midweek. I'll be ok tho. lol. Same lol, got me through the school week. Mondays were radio charts, Wednesdays top 10, Thursday Hot 100, and Friday the Irish charts. At least the change was made during the summer so I had time to adjust. Can't Feel My Face back to #1 on iTunes. Can't Feel My Face also climbs to #1 on radio.
