Hope it manages 10 weeks at #1. The airplay gap between Adele/Justin should increase, with Adele getting gains thanks to AC radio and Justin losing AI due to year end countdowns.

Ya I bet this easily gets a 10th week at #1.  AC radio is far from done and it really is strong at so many formats of radio now.  Our rock station is really playing the heck out of it and it is like the only ballad they are playing.

Wow, so this is seriously killing it now on ALL AC formats who have prob. been dying beyond belief to play this! Have a feeling since sales, streaming are holding up and esp. now that it's basically getting a major second wind on radio this may roadblock 'Sorry'. Not 100% but looking very likely we have another Uptown Funk/ Ed Sherean situation. Looking like Love Yourself or WWWY are def. the only songs that are a 'major' upcoming threat. Just think it may not be as quickly as some think due to the mega second wind on AC/radio. No doubt they knew what they were doing.

There has been some discussion, but no confirmation. This is from an interview Billboard did with the organizers a few days ago:

Adele is obviously the talk of the industry. She wasn't eligible this year, but what are the odds of her opening the Grammys?



PORTNOW The reality is that the show is centered around the nominations. We actually had our first academy television committee meeting on Monday night (Dec. 7) and our first meeting with Ken and the production team on Tuesday, so we're really just beginning the booking process. The honest answer is, "We'll see."



EHRLICH It's important to represent what happened in music this year. And if an artist has something that's really significant late in the year, past the nominations period, we'll look at that. As in the past several years, occasionally we will honor that by bringing that artist on. So let's put it this way: Adele is definitely on our radar.

It helps that you can watch ANYTHING UNDER THE SUN (from J. Cole to 90's Sheryl Crow to Paul Kalkbrenner) and this comes up as the next autoplayed video. not mad though!
