this is superb. i like the lyrics - simple but clever spin on the usual heartbreak topic. I find this very fresh-sounding evolution of her sound.

Prediction: #1 Hot 100 debut Top 10 CHR/POP debut (first everrr?) and top 10 Hot 100 Airplay debut Biggest first week digital sales (The record is Right Round 636.000) Biggest first week audience impression (More than Born This Way, over 100 million) The first two aren't happening. The airplay tracking period is still happening for the next chart. This will have strong enough airplay in those few short days to debut in the lower section before streaming and sales take over. So it likely won't debut top ten on Radio Songs either. As for top 40 radio: depends. If you're talking about Billboard, then maybe? Mediabase is a no. It's not getting spun 10000 times in two days. That's the equivalent of the top 1-3 songs over the course of four days. Unless you mean its first 7 days, in which Born This Way already did that. |

Her voice sounds better than ever. When you had such big era like she had with 21, coming back (specially if you wait that much) is tricky, but this is going to be a smash. Perfect song for fall season.

I loooooove this. It's great. I agree with the posters saying it wasn't as good as "Rolling in the Deep" or "Someone Like You," but I'm all here for this and for her comeback.

Underwhelmed. Not as strong as the singles from 21 or some of the album tracks. It's a good track nontheless and really can't wait to see it debut at #1 across the world!  |

I was hoping first song out of the gate would show that side of Adele we've all been hearing about - the one that's moved past her broken relationship and found herself rejuvenated by a new one. The Adele that is enjoying motherhood - I have to think all this is on the album, so I'm not all that disappointed.
That said, Adele can do heartache like nobody's business.
Since we've been waiting four years, that opening line was probably too irresistibly a fit to not consider it as the first single.
She looks stunning in this video.

This was the PERFECT lead single, I like it far more than "Someone Like You" (I was never a fan - I get why people liked it, though).
I'm here for the more "Rolling in the Deep" and "Set Fire to the Rain" sound, and "Hello" fits.

Such an amazing 80's inspired power ballad with a few R&B undertones in the vocal inflections. When they played it on the radio my only instinct was to turn it up full blast and struggle to try and imitate her.
