Hey, it'll be her 4th Top 10 debut, so that's not bad.

So for this year Katy Perry and Rihanna* will cut their streak of having a #1 per year this decade.
*Rihanna may not be considered for this since "The Monster" might be counted for only one year (2013 or 2014)

^ This will also mark the first time acts like Katy Perry and Kesha will not be present on the year end charts since they got famous. The list will also not have Iggy Azalea, Britney Spears AND Lady Gaga. And even though Rihanna had 2 hits this year, it didn't really feel like it, I almost forget she did before I'm reminded of the year end predictions. Not a good year for pop divas (at least the established ones). Btw, I consider "The Monster" more of a 2014 hit than a 2013 one, so I'd put it on 2014.

Let's take Hotline Bling for example, what were the original numbers and how did you figure out these points? what formula did you use for the 3 categories? I have been wanting to know for a long time. And where in the world do you find streaming points for Hotline Bling (or any song in this case)?

Well, thanks to "Hello," it brought her previous album, 21, back to #11 on the BB200. If I recall correctly, the last time it was that high up was the chart dated March 16, 2013.

Last time your prediction gave Hello 30m streams while in reality it's over 60m, but it's okay.

I have been wanting to know for a long time. And where in the world do you find streaming points for Hotline Bling (or any song in this case)? Sales can be estimated from Kworb's popbars. Airplay can be estimated from the Mediabase figures provided here, multiplied by a factor 0f 0.82-0.85 depending on the song. Streaming is mostly a guess I make based on last week's rankings and the trend it is showing. For example, songs late into their run decline on-an-avg. 5-10% every week. In Hotline Bling's case, it jumped to #2 last week (should be around 20M) surpassing The Hills (which should be around 18M), and I'm expecting it to be relatively flat this week. The Hills on the other hand should go down. As for the formula, I use...... Sales/12 + Airplay/10 + Streams/0.9

I totally agree. Style is a masterpiece, the highest point of 1989, but ruined by the worst music video of 1989

For me, out of the 1989 singles, "Style" is better than "Bad Blood" (which is the worst track on 1989), but not as good as any of the other (very strong) singles. "Clean" is probably my favourite song on the album, and that isn't even a single.

I like "Style," but "Blank Space" is my favorite of the singles.
JL- the "Hello" hype brought 21 back to the top 10 in album sales- what was the chart in which it was last top 10? ;)

Thanks. :) So it was that very week that it was last top 10 in sales. Impressive that a lead single from a new album could cause such a bump to the previous studio album. But, not all previous studio albums are 21.

I wish "Style" had more of a bridge, but I like the vibe of it a lot and like it in general. I love "OOTW" overall, but the chorus is too repetitive. If it had a bit better of a chorus, it would be truly genius.
