Glad that Meghan got another top 10, but I wish it were DFH instead, which I liked better.

radio gave her the cold shoulder. callouts for "dear future husband" weren't the best, but it was still selling very well.

Why Drink You Away didn't debut?

Drink You Away needed top 50 to debut, it did not get that.

So Hotline Bling could be a contender for the most weeks at #2 without reaching #1. Quite an achievement but I would still much rather it had reached #1.

^It's only spent 5 weeks at #2 -- still a long way to go before it matches Missy/Foreigner's 10 weeks at #2.

Beat me to it. Just going to post that.
Any song is a candidate to break records until proven otherwise if you try to predict far enough ahead.

The iTunes performance of "Focus" in week one didn't seem too far off from Gwen's "Used To Love You" the first week (peaked at #2, a few days in the top 10, and remained top 20 most of the week) but that only debuted at #82 last week. I wonder what made Gwen debut so low (even though she was bound to fall off the chart in week two anyway).

The fact that pop radio was always going to eat up Ariana's new single no matter what (it's already top 20). The video also has 60 million views.

It was released in the middle of the week, so its big sales were split between two weeks, pretty sure it was something like 34k first week and 32k second, but it worked out alright because she snatched the #2 peak two days before Adele came crashing in.

And their sales numbers differed quite much, as well. Ariana was #2 with bigger number than Gwen was.

Drink You Away needed top 50 to debut, it did not get that. Ah of course and it didn't have a lot of time to sell enough for this week
