I wish Sorry would boot off Hello. Already tired of the song.

I wish Sorry would boot off Hello. Already tired of the song. It looks like it will at this stage. Certainly has a much bigger chance at getting #1 than In The Night lol.

Hasn't "In The Night" been making very big gains lately everywhere? Yesterday it was Top 4 at ITunes and it's airplay has been skyrocketing. A week ago I would have said the same thing but "In The Night" seems to be becoming a legitimate hit.

Every song doesn't have to be #1, I'd be happy even if In The Night would have a decent run in top 10

The fact that the Justin Bieber songs are following each other and peaking quickly is not a bad thing. It's not the perfectly paced run that us chart nerds are used to but trying to spin Bieber's current chart status to a negative is weird. His album sales are killing it, his radio airplay is killing it, his singles sales are killing it, his streaming is killing it. And the songs are very good. He's doing amazingly well.

I'm so happy that What Do You Mean? is having such great longevity. My favorite single of the year.

Why would Yahoo post that with 3 weeks left, including the post-Christmas gift-card week. And with "Hello" rising.

^Paul does it each year. He'll updated the column in January.

Why would Yahoo post that with 3 weeks left, including the post-Christmas gift-card week. And with "Hello" rising. Because Paul has nothing else to write about? :) We all the data and ability to get data so quickly, there is no reason why we can get 'true' calendar year sales during the first week in January. It's about as logical as the chart that ends December 17 is dated 2016 with TWO FULL weeks in 2015 remaining! So the first THREE weeks of Billboard's 2016 charts are really 2015. They had a chance to shorten the gap between chart and Billboard 'publication' dates and instead they expanded it.

I'd put my money on In The Night being the song to dethrone Hello in about 4 weeks time, Sorry will have to settle for being another Thinking Out Loud (sucks for you JB)
