Calvin was the winner of the Patron Tequila Solo Artist of the Year in the GQ Awards in London.

Since 2012 Calvin Harris has risen as one of the UK's best talents. His album 18 Months saw him collaborate with the likes of Rihanna, Ellie Goulding, Kelis and Tinie Tempah, producing some of the best songs of the 21st century. His second fourth album Motion was equally as successful and he holds the record for the artist with the most top ten singles from one album - currently at nine.

2016 saw his music triumphantly overshadow his personal life (he and Taylor Swift called it a day) and he released hits such as "How Deep Is Your Love" (in which Gigi Hadid made a cameo). Next came "This Is What You Came For" which again featured Rihanna and has been viewed over 500 million times on Youtube. Perhaps one of his greatest achievements of the past year was winning Best Male Video at the MTV VMA Awards last month, beating both Drake and Kanye West to the top spot.

And let's not forget the fact that Giorgio Armani selected him to front his Emporio Armani underwear campaign.

Calvin posted two outtakes from the GQ photoshoot by Gavin Bond on Instagram.

Also, an extract from his British GQ interview was unveiled, where he spoke about his break up with Taylor Swift and the strains of living his personal life in the public eye.

"It's very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly. The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicised than the relationship itself. When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus. She respected my feelings in that sense. I'm not good at being a celebrity.

But when it ended, all hell broke loose. Now I see that Twitter thing as a result of me succumbing to pressure. It took me a minute to realise that none of that matters. I'm a positive guy.

For both of us it was the wrong situation. It clearly wasn't right, so it ended, but all of the stuff that happened afterwards..."

I know that the sales of the albums tend to be low for EDM producers, but I hope Calvin could re-evaluate this because I want another album from him.

That said, he also doesn't have enough material for this either. I mean, when he was interviewed by Annie Mac during the premiere of "My Way" last month, he mentioned that he only has two tracks done, which one of them was going to be released instead of the aforemetioned, but he decided to switch this around August. As a consequence, I think those two tracks are the John Newman and Ellie Goulding collaborations, respectively, being the former the one he was supposed to release instead of "My Way".

Personally, it's so great to see that there are two songs from I Created Disco and four from Ready for the Weekend, being one of them an album track, which I didn't expect that to happen.
