I love his mission statement for 2017 and him going back to using live instruments to create a vibe. Slide and Heatstroke are great feel good songs and the collaborations are actually meshing well together organically. I like this shift of him doing something that doesn't rely on a drop of some sort that people are "used" to. Who would've thought Pharrell and Calvin would actually produce something together after Pharrell's vocal only stints on work by Swedish House Mafia, Daft Punk, Axwell Λ Ingrosso, and other EDM producers.

King is back with the word 'soon', although he added 'pretty' before now.

Anyway, my guess was proven wrong because I thought that he will drop his new song on May 5, following the pattern of five weeks between the releases of "Slide" and "Heatstroke". That said, he's maybe planning to release this sometime this month? Time will tell this though~

Oh! As a side note, I'm glad that he tweeted about "Let Me Know", the very first track he did with Ayah Marar.

Calvin's five tracks in the last two years (from "This Is What You Came For" to "Heatstroke") made him to be included inside the Top 10 of best-selling recorded music projects (formerly known as albums) for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017. King of making Sony to change the report of album sales! :)

Calvin Harris hasn't released an album for nearly three years – since 2014's Motion, which went top 5 on the Billboard 200 and to No.2 in the UK. He's released a lot of tracks, though.

Last year, there was "This Is What You Came For" featuring Rihanna (US No.3; UK No.2), "Hype" with Dizzee Rascal and "My Way", on which Harris took lead vocals (UK No.4). Already this year there's been "Slide" featuring Frank Ocean and Migos (UK No.10; US No.34) and latest single "Heatstroke" featuring Young Thug, Pharrell Williams and Ariana Grande (UK No.25). Five singles in two years... and no sign of an album.

Every quarter (and every year), Sony presents a list of best-selling albums to its shareholders, based on revenue generation in the period. At least, this used to be a list of best-selling albums. The goal posts are shifting. Last year, Sony categorised the list as being comprised of 'recorded music releases'. It was still a Top 10 of biggest-selling albums, essentially, led by Adele's 25 – but the Japanese company explained that it was made up of 'albums and digital tracks included in albums'.

This year (for FY2016 – the 12 months to end of March 2017), Sony has instead labelled the list as a group of 'recorded music projects'. Its explanation: "Projects are the aggregation of revenue from albums and digital track exploitation. Revenue within the quarter may also include revenue from individual tracks not associated with an album, or associated with a future album." Why was this subtle change necessary? Calvin Harris.

Harris put out Sony's fifth best-selling global 'project' of FY2016 – but the thing is, it wasn't really a single 'project' at all. It was a sporadic series of tracks. Indeed, the title of Harris's 'project' in Sony's latest fiscal filings is simply – brilliantly – annotated as 'Collection of tracks'. Respect to the individual who plumped for this say-what-you-see approach.

So... what's an album, what's a 'project' and how the heck do you categorise what Calvin Harris is doing when he seems to just release singles whenever he likes? Welcome to the difficult-to-define record business of 2017: when you never know if you're dealing with an album, a mixtape, a 'playlist' or a 'collection of tracks'.

Calvin Harris has minted his place on Scotland's rich list after boosting his wealth by £25 million (USD32 million) in a year. The superstar DJ broke into the nation's top 60 wealthiest for the first time after banking £120 million (USD156 million). And the "Ready for the Weekend" hitmaker's spectacular earnings make him the 21st richest UK music star, according to The Sunday Times Rich List.

LA—based Harris, 33, from Dumfries, first appeared in the rankings three years ago after raking in £30 million (USD38 million). He hasn't put out an album since but made millions from his singles and writing hits for others. It's thought he commands up to £400,000 (USD518,000) for a night's DJing and also has residencies in top Las Vegas clubs including Hakkasan.

Last year he was 27th in the music Rich List and the world's highest-earning DJ ahead of Dutch star Tiësto, who pocketed £29 million (USD38 million).

Looks like there's going to be an announcement tomorrow and Calvin's new single will be out this Friday!

He tweeted the wave emoji today, which was an indication when he revealed "Heatstroke" in March, so he may be following the same pattern with this release, despite that he's not doing a countdown like the aforementioned.
