I don't get how the f**k Sorry is still ahead of My House. That is some bulls**t. Also I hope they just forgot to mention Stressed Out #1 on Pop Songs rather than it not being #1 on Pop Songs this week :( EDIT: I just found out that this is true, it's not #1 on Pop somehow. What the actual fuck. I get that there's a discrepancy between BDS and Mediabase but the mediabase difference was fucking 250 spins, not 25. How the fuck is the discrepancy that severe??? Sooooooo fucking aggrievated right now.

I WAS OFF BY 1 FOR ZARA! UGH. But at least it is higher than I predicted :) That's expected, though :) That you didn't get it right. We have a good idea of the top 10, maybe even the top 20, so if you put your mind to it, you can guess pretty close where things will be. But below that, especially under #50, is just too vague to guess. Any song could be there. It would be easier to guess where it would be in terms of "the top 40, the top 60", but guessing a song will be at #72 is a bit.. unlikely to be right.

"One Call Away" is such a waste of chart space.
"Down In The DM" ftw.

"One Call Away" is such a waste of chart space. "Down In The DM" ftw. I like OCA, don't love it, wouldn't bother me if it never hit the top 10. But DITDM...

I'm calling it right now: Work is going to be #1 for 10 weeks. I'm not too happy about it (and hope I'm wrong) but just preparing myself. There doesn't appear to be anything that could dethrone it anytime soon (now that I think about it My House *could* get to #2 with nothing in its way ATM). Didn't want to accept it at first but it's time I do. I like the song, but I'm ready for a new #1 by the end of March tbh. Also pleasantly surprised that CBTO actually went UP this week :O I predicted a #9 peak for it, and I am quite satisfied with it having made it this high. Of course it's a shame it wasn't released to peak in the summertime because it feels like a summer song and would've quite possibly hit the top 5 then but oh well. Also really happy for SITWYM getting higher this week than any of us thought

I'd normally criticize them for releasing the video mid-week, but it actually was a smart move in this case. The song was probably going to be #1 no matter what, and the few days of extra streams sealed it.
Now, they get a whole week of streams this coming week, thus ensuring another week on top.

Would that 22k be enough to chart this week? Gary and Emily seemed pretty clear that it didn't make it during the Periscope today. Always the possibility that they made a mistake. If not, it should be on the Bubbling Under chart with that sales total -- *unless* Billboard decided to disagree with NM and count all the Thursday night sales toward next week (I'm not sure that would ever happen - just accounting for all possibilities to not get hopes up).

Well with the official music video out it's a safe bet that the number of views for the lyric video/audio clip decreased significantly. I think 30-32 million is what Work will get in total. I just can't imagine it getting almost 50% of its streams from outside of YouTube official clip + Spotify. Well, I guess we just have to wait and see, then Pay up, Mark

I'm so impressed how Rihanna turned things around after that chart run last year and the very messy release of the long delayed album. She's killing it in the charts again like it's 2008 but now successfully transitioning to the streaming era.
Katy Perry ruled during the digital sales boom, but she didn't have new material yet when streaming became huge last year. I'll be curious to see how she will perform when she releases new material
Hello at #8! I hope it does get 9 and 10 for the next two weeks, it's not really significant factoid but for chart geeks it's just fun to see a chart run like that

Rihanna's status as a streaming force was known prior to Work, it's just being reconfirmed now. She was the #3 female in the US for Spotify last year and #1 worldwide. That was with only 1 song that reached the higher regions in most international charts, and that didn't even have longevity or reach as high as her biggest hits. The generation that's powering streaming is the one that grew up with hearing her around on a near constant basis for a decade (if you consider The Monster still lingering around in early 2014, there wasn't even a full year between that finishing and FFS being released and its initial vault).

Damn her album came out only last year and was only selling around 35 copies a day? That's just embarrassing.

From Billboard: ""Work," released on Westbury Road/Roc Nation, holds atop the Hot 100 boosted by an 80 percent blast to 46.5 million U.S. streams in the tracking week ending Feb. 25, according to Nielsen Music, following the arrival of its official music video Feb. 22. Notably, the song sports 13.9 million Vevo on YouTube clicks for the week, up from 575,000 the prior frame. "Work" leads the Streaming Songs chart for a second week and tops the subscription services-based On-Demand Songs chart (18.1 million streams, up 19 percent) for a third frame. It rules Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for a fourth (nonconsecutive) week."
Total: 46.5 million Vevo: 13.9 million On Demand: 18.1 million
There's another 14,5 millon streams outside vevo and on demand. I'm wondering where are they come from? I believed apple music, tidal, etc are included to on demand chart, aren't they?

The streams will probably be from non-VEVO Youtube videos (because you're right that Apple Music, TIDAL, etc. count for the On-Demand chart). Songs like Watch Me, UOENO, Not N*gga got loads of streams from non-VEVO Youtube videos too, so it's not the first time.

So after looking at this week's chart, a lot of hip-hop/r&b songs went up & entered this week (some moving up 10+ positions in the top 40) which makes me think streaming has a bigger impact now.
