Meghan Trainor is dropping a new single in March and depending on the quality and reception of the song, it could challenge for #1. She said she's going for a more urban sound for her next album which could work in her favor.
Also, any word on a new Ariana single? If she has quality material, she could definitely be a #1 contender.
Even if Gaga drops a new single, with her momentum, she could definitely go #1.

I'm not sure about a new single, but I know they are dropping Focus from the album and are renaming the album Dangerous Woman (I believe). Maybe a new single from that soon.

Uptown Funk returned to chart??? How did that happen? I thought Billboard strictly keeps every song from getting back!
Anyway, since it's back (even just for 1 week probably), let's look at the updated prediction of all-time hot 100 chart:
1. THE TWIST 27,150 2. SMOOTH 22,300 3. MACK THE KNIFE 21,150 4. HOW DO I LIVE 20,000 5. PARTY ROCK ANTHEM 19,850 6. I GOTTA FEELING 19,850 7. MACARENA (BAYSIDE BOYS MIX) 19,800 8-9. UPTOWN FUNK 19,600* 8-9. PHYSICAL 19,600 10. YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE 19,450
102. THRIFT SHOP 14,300 131. ALL OF ME 13,700 132-133. SEXY AND I KNOW IT 13,700 132-134. RADIOACTIVE 13,700 133-134. SOMEONE LIKE YOU 13,700 146-148. COUNTING STARS 13,450 146-148. SHAKE IT OFF 13,450 146-148. SEE YOU AGAIN 13,450*

Failed memory doesn't mean the prior hits did not happen. If we use that criteria ANY artist regardless of prior success could be a one hit wonder By that logic PSY isn't a OHW either then since Gentleman reached the top five. I wouldn't consider Gentleman or Please Don't Go to be hits, even though they had a small amount of impact. I barely even consider "Cooler Than Me" a hit (it made year-end top 20 so it was pretty big, which gives it hit criteria IMO, but still not a BIG hit). I'm just saying I'm hoping ITAPII is much bigger than PDG. For now I consider CTM to be his only real hit, not so much because the others aren't memorable, but rather that their success was not sizeable enough Please don't go hit 16 on the hot 100, and number 8 on pop radio and sold over a million units. It was also on chr for 22 weeks . I fail to see how this can't be considered a sizable hit . If anything id say bow Chica wow wow is More up for debate. It hit 30 on the hot 100 , 21 on pop radio and spent 16 weeks on chr . It also sold a million units

The only current single on the charts I can see challenging Work for the top spot sooner than later is 7 Years if it explodes like in other territories, and maybe an outside chance for Mike Posner. I don't see 7 Years or ITAPII even making top 3

for all time weeks at number 1? Absolutely not. I can promise some either completely unknown song or new single from some huge name drops before it reaches 7. Also if it manages to do so, I'd be severely dissapointed in America forever. I could see Work getting 7 potentially, but can't see it getting 17 lol. Yeah, Mike Posner and Yo Gotti are doing very well with their songs. Flo Rida's song is doing very well too, but it's probably going to peak around the same time and Work and seems to be basically doing worse than it, so I think #2 is the best it can peak at. The song to really look out for is 7 Years imo. I've never heard it before, but look at its current stats... It's doing amazing! I think either it will go to #1 or it will be a really long-running hit that is so successful it might as well be a #1 (like Shut Up And Dance, Thinking Out Loud). Good info

Which just adds to the messiness of the definition of "one hit wonder"

When we cross 10 weeks at #1 for Work, let's talk of the record Anything can surprise really, I mean after her so-so run in the chart last year, who knew Rihanna can get a #1 this fast again? Who saw Zayn getting a #1 first than One Direction? A lot of us thought When We Were Young will easily get #1 but look what happened So far this year have been exciting with the chart movements, I don't think it will be like last year where songs stayed at #1 and in the top 10 for such a long time

When we cross 10 weeks at #1 for Work, let's talk of the record This needs to be a rule on Pulse tbh lol. Just kidding of course, but this is an excellent rule of thumb to establish, in my opinion. It's really silly to talk about 17 weeks at #1 in the first few weeks - when the possibility is still a few MONTHS away xD

7 Years is just taking off naturally. It flew to #1 in the UK (24-6-1) and Australia (20-1) out of nowhere, really, and currently has a massive iTunes lead in both countries. So it's not leaving anytime soon. If any song is destined to be a 10-week Hot 100 #1, it's that.

I hope Sorry can break the Starships/Sugar/WDYM? record I think LY, Sorry, and Hello will all pass 21, but LY will do it I have this feeling that Hello might get 20 because of the rate that she is falling. But I also have this feeling that she will stay at #9 or #10 on it's 21st and 22nd week in the top 10 and fall off after the 22nd. At the time Hello is #9 or #10 on her 22nd week, Sorry will be #8, and Love Yourself will be #6 or #5. So, I predict: Hello - 22 weeks (not too sure on this, but it is possible) Sorry - 23 weeks Love Yourself - 25 weeks

7 Years - the big one-hit wonder song of 2016 in the US. It just has that vibe to it - no offense to Lukas Graham fans.

#1 in multiple countries, rising fast here. Yes - one hit wonder
"One hit wonder" in this case means yes he has one hit because he has only released one. The "wonder" part would be that we are in awe of how fast it is rising.
More often than not where there is a fast rising hit, a second follows.

If they do release more singles after 7 Years they'll still be a OHW in the US if they peak at #38 lololol. Hopefully they won't be one though because they're quite good in my opinion.
