Ride had a HUGE week, it climbs 74-66 despite Prince and Beyonce Remove the Prince and Beyonce songs out of the Hot 100 and it would chart at #46 this week. Holy s**t, is that a huge boost! Are we looking at a potential second Twenty One Pilots hit?

Ride had a HUGE week, it climbs 74-66 despite Prince and Beyonce How is that even possible? :O I was expecting it to be somewhere in the 90s this week. Though I don't know why people are surprised that they're getting a second hit. It's obvious from their album sales and ever-growing fanbase that people already like them for more than 1 song. It was bound to happen eventually, though I am a bit surprised it didn't take until the next album for it to happen.

R.I.P. Hands to Myself, Hello and The Hills.
But do Hello and HTM have any kind of chance to re-enter, should they rank in the Top 50 next week or so? Or they are completely out now?

Probably not, the criteria about week over week gains in multiple metrics will probably block it.

Ride had a HUGE week, it climbs 74-66 despite Prince and Beyonce I imagine it will explode into the top 40 next week or the week after. And I wouldn't think "Hello" would re-enter even if Billboard allowed it; at the rate it was dropping this might have been its last week on the Hot 100 anyway!

I think HTM is out for good. Hello might re-enter.
Edit: Gary is right. I forgot Billboard has some weird rules that might prevent it from returning since it's going down on all metrics. Oh well, here come the "HELLO IS SUCH A FLOP FOR A 10 WEEK #1!!!!"312!" posts.
BeyoncΓ© did really well. I wasn't expecting Sorry at #11!

I hope it can reach top 10 on the Hot 100! Or if I am lucky, let them get the #1 that they deserve!!!

Everyone!!! I just noticed that the only Non-Prince and Non-Beyonce songs in the top 50 that have a bullet are Panda, One Dance, 7 Years, ITAPII, Work From Home, DLMD, and Needed Me.

I know we've mentioned Beyonce's near twin debuts in the top 10, but it is unusual to see Prince have two songs move into the top ten in the same week. I'm trying to think of when that may have happened before - Adele after the Grammies?

Just realized "Hello" got knocked off. That's one huge drop off the chart for a song that was descending so slowly all along.

Personally i wish this kind of thing would happen more often. Get rid of the old songs that are - for the most part - just passively lingering on their way off the already fairly stagnant, stubborn chart full of lingerers. #BYE

Songs that spend 10 weeks at #1, would otherwise be considered a major flop if it did not have a longer chart run

We all know that whole 25 era is a disaster and Adele is over, pratically will be in two years where Susan Boyle is now.

it's interesting how longevity-sensitive today's younger chart watchers are. i guess i'm not that into longevity because I was around in the 80s when a song lasting even 20 weeks was considered long. some of the biggest hits only had 16 week runs. That's 4 months. That was plenty. Kept things moving, even if totally inaccurate. haha.
* I am aware of the differences and the reasons why (BDS/Soundscan and now streaming) - I'm just saying that 25 weeks (6 months) of charting is PLENTY for ANY SONG, even today. But I digress - it is what it is.

And I wouldn't worry about Adele, she still has a large fan base, she's still a high-profile name and will continue to do well regardless of what happens with the rest of the singles. Adele won't be going away that easy.

Adele '25' wasn't going to have a '21' style chart run.
Chart-run-wise, '21' is the #1 album of all time, no where to go from there but down.

I'm trying to think of when that may have happened before - Adele after the Grammies? They mentioned a fact like this in the Periscope yesterday. I'm not 100% sure what it exactly was, but I believe the last time Prince had two songs in the top 10 at the same time was when Purple Rain and When Doves Cry were originally in the top ten at 1984 - both in the same positions as they are now

How weird! WHat a crazy coincidence. Though I didn't mean the last artist to have two songs in the top etn together, I meant the last artist who saw two of their songs move into the top ten the same week.

acharts.co/us_singles_top_100/2012/09Someone Like You climbed 11-7 Rolling in the Deep climbed 17-5 (and Set Fire to the Rain held at 2-2) So, 2 songs by same artist climbing back into top ten has happened before.

I know what you're saying, but just to nitpick: James Cameron had the #1 movie of all time with Titanic. Until he topped that with his next film Avatar. It's borderline impossible and "25" has certainly been HUGE, but it was possible to go somewhere other than down...
