I liked this cover from Dylan so that I could pay more attention to the lyrics lol.I guess he is good doing these pop covers and leaves some of his mark on it.

His album is pretty good, and I loooove his voice! But I will add myself as another one of those saying that Crazy Over Me was better.

Anyone think "My Girl" has a real shot at being Scott's 1st top 10, 5 or #1? Great song, always liked Scott. I always thought he needed a major label (got that with Curb) and a Top 5 maybe Platinum selling song. I hope this can make a long run.

Like I have done with Chase Bryant and Garth Brooks. I decided to go against what I normally do and see how this has done on Billboard the past few weeks.
Like with the other two men in question. Dylan Scott is struggling badly, he is up only 310k the past 3 weeks. Also, it has been while since Dylan Scott had his #38 peak on Billboard (back in early December from what I remember). With this song at 21 weeks old he and Chase Bryant both need to get moving. Dylan Scott has better sales so I wouldn't be shocked to see this last into the spring months, but, the signs are showing Chase Bryant, Dylan Scott, and Parmalee all not lasting that much longer. Even with the Top 30 and how many songs there are looking weak.
Dylan Scott has the potential since he has solid enough sales, but radio seems rather flat with this song since the new year.

They are just trying to find that song that connects his voice to the melt-like-butter female P1 song.
Not that there's anything wrong with that. Careers have been built on less. This is approaching pandering but Curb needs all the help they can get.

I still think "Crazy Over Me" is vastly superior to this song. That one cracked the top 40 but it should've been Dylan's first career top 20 single.

Dylan's debut album is quite good imo, but "Crazy Over Me" was the star of it. Like sabre14, I really wanted to see that one be a breakout hit for him. I like this one well enough, but it's not nearly as great of a song.

Congrats to Dylan for 1 million units sold (digital downloads+streaming)! The record label surprised him yesterday during his concert with a plaque.
Incredible he sold 1 million equivalent downloads with no major radio hits. This just shows future in country music is streaming. Shame on country radio for not playing more of his song. "My Girl" sounds like a huge smash hit song.

Actually, this song has done pretty well if you ask me. Curb's radio promotion department has been a shell of what it was 20 years ago (if I had a dime for every industry source I've heard make fun of their radio department...) but "My Girl" is up to #33 on Mediabase this week and has gained 76 more spins and 400k in audience this week. There's a small chance Dylan can reach the top 30 next week, since Rhett, Granger and Maren are going recurrent next Sunday. The song's streaming has done well and its sales are admirable.
I don't know how much longer it can lasts (I suppose it could chug along into the top 25) but this is definitely one of the quieter top 40 hits we've seen of late.

This song just keeps chugging along and has had a couple bigger weeks here. Top 20 is a definate at this point, with top 10 not out of the cards.

"My Girl" has caught fire the past few weeks. It's gained over 800 spins and 5.7 million in audience the past three weeks. Curb's radio staff struggles has been well documented on this board over the years but they've got a young, solo male artist, singing radio-friendly uptempos, so even they can get some airplay success here. lol

"My Girl" reaches into the MB Top 20 at #20. Dylan Scott looks to shoot into the Top 20 on Billboard as well at either #19 or #20 depending on if Dylan Scott can get back ahead of Lady Antebellum "You Look Good".
Does anyone know any higher this one will get? I think Top 15 is certainly in the cards, but the age of this song makes me hesitant to say it can get Top 10 or higher.

In this day and age, I don't see multiple weeks charting affecting this song's performance. Dylan is pretty much a brand new artist to most listeners, so he will probably get a little leeway with radio this go around. It's hard to fully predict this one's chart run because its Curb, but I'm thinking there's a strong possibility of top 10 here. Its a safe uptempo song that radio loves and the recent updates have been pretty great.

I'm thinking Top 10. It's not like Curb has anything else to promote except for perhaps another Tim McGraw greatest hits album.

This song has been completely under the radar. There're no reviews of it. Saving Country Music didn't give it a "27 guns down" and openly insult Dylan and his fanbase. Rolling Stone Country has been silent. And it didn't even get a Wikipedia article until just now. (Still not quite as bad as "Hurricane" being at #9 and still not having a Wikipedia article. Seriously, everyone makes song articles on every song on the charts... why did that one get the shaft?)
Also, why did Curb release the album back in 2016 when he didn't have much on the charts? Isn't it their normal pattern to not release albums until the song's been on the charts for 95 weeks?

I actually think this song is awful and if it weren't for the good sales (which surprise me), I'd be legit shocked that this looks like a potential top 10, maybe even a future #1.
"Ooh she got me like yeah baby girl you gone and done it again"...what the heck does that even mean?
Every line in this song is extremely cliche and the production is so minimalist...which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the awful cheesy lyrics and generic production make this sound like a demo or a song from some sort of "regional" act that you'd only ever hear on secondary radio.

Thank you! I'm very surprised this trash has become a hit... Outside of Brantley Gilbert, this is easily my least favorite song in the top 20. I hope it dies off soon. Ps you've been sorely missed jhomes87

This looks like this will be his first top 10 hit next week. I'd love to see them re-release "Crazy Over Me" after this peaks kind of like Chris Young did with "Voices". I highly doubt it will happen though.

I highly doubt it will happen though. Dylan Scott just doesn't have the momentum or the label to afford a re-release of "Crazy Over Me". Curb as a whole sucks when it comes to promoting songs to radio and it'd be downright idiotic for them to re-release an already peaked song. I think this song can hit the Top 10, but I am unsure about this songs #1 chances. As Dylan Scott is on Week 39 he has approximately 6-8 weeks before peaking at most. If he can hold off songs from like Thomas Rhett, Midland and Cole Swindell then I believe he can hit the Top spot. If those guys pass by Dylan Scott them I believe a Top 10 finish will be it.

If William Michael Morgan can reach the #2 spot on Billboard / #1 spot on Mediabase, then so can Dylan. I'm pretty sure that this will make it to #1. It caught on late but I don't see why it can't spend 45-50 weeks on the chart. I'm still surprised that out of all the songs Dylan has released, this is the one that radio took a liking to, as to my ears it sounds like a demo that you'd hear on secondary radio from some artist on a no-name label. The lyrics are cringe-worthy bad, too. But it's testing really well on Mediabase Callout and that seems to be what radio programmers use to determine whether a song will be a big hit, or whether it will come up short. Sam Hunt has been #1 in MB Callout for weeks, Luke Combs and Brett Young are right up there as well, along with Dylan, Dierks, Darius, and Thomas. Kenny Chesney didn't test that well and as a result he barely scraped the top 10, Tim and Faith aren't testing that well and I have my doubts that they can make the top 10, ZBB isn't testing well (and likely won't even make the top 15), Kelsea Ballerini has one of the highest negative ratings which is probably one of the reasons why she couldn't get past #3 (along with the stiff competition), Keith and Carrie have a high negative rating and have slowed to a crawl on the cusp of the top 10. The Medibase Callout report seems to be make or break. I think it's really flawed, especially when you consider an artist like Midland...their song has the highest negative score in the callout report, and yet it's selling really well. Well, they're a new artist, and their song is ultra country, so I doubt it's pop radio listeners who are buying it. Country fans are clearly the ones who are downloading "Drinkin' Problem", and yet it's testing poorly. Recently Dylan was as high as #2 overall in callout and right now he's at #5. That bodes well for the future of "My Girl", which I think will go at least top 3 if not #1.

True about the testing #s. I'm more or less just trying to figure out some scenario where this absolute asinine piece of crap doesn't hit the Top or at least isn't a Mediabase only #1. Part of me feels like you used my post to rant about Midland's testing numbers.

Curb as a whole sucks when it comes to promoting songs to radio and it'd be downright idiotic for them to re-release an already peaked song. I don't think it would probably be the best idea because "Crazy Over Me" made it to the 30s on the charts and was out for awhile (as opposed to something that barely charted and for a short time), and you're correct that he doesn't have nearly the momentum going for him that Chris Young had when they re-released "Voices," but it's a much better song than this one and I'm still surprised it didn't catch on the way "My Girl" ultimately did given the way it sold during its run. He's on Curb so this could very well be the only hit he ever gets, but there's also a decent possibility he can score another slow-climbing hit with another single too, whether it's a re-release of "Crazy Over Me" (which I would doubt happens, but I personally would LOVE that tbh) or something else. Lee Brice is finally coming back into the equation (in his absence they really only had Dylan Scott to even worry about), so we'll see how he does with "Boy" and if they can manage two artists at one time. Jerrod Niemann and Love and Theft were nice "gets" for the label, but it doesn't look like either of them is going to probably do much at radio for Curb. Also, like jhomes87 stated above, even with the age of "My Girl" (like that even matters much these days at country radio anyway, lol), it's doing incredibly well and it's got a real good chance of going all the way to the top or at least quite close to it.

.indulgecountry I am about 95% sure whatever will get released next won't be "Crazy Over Me". That song spent about 20 weeks on BB and it would make no sense especially given how crappie Curb is and despite this being a hit, I don't believe Dylan Scott has the most momentum, I do think that it'll be another single from the album obviously. Also I know that it'll probably hit #1 (what am I? f*cking stupid?!) but I like to at least entertain the idea as 1) I hate this song and 2) I desperately want to find a scenario where this doesn't hit the Top of the chart because that'd make me happy as I can't f*cking stand this song.

And I'm 100% sure that I never said "Crazy Over Me" will be getting a re-release so you can re-read my post again if you got the wrong impression from what I said. I highly doubt that will happen -- I said as much -- and don't think it would be a wise move because it probably did a little too well the first time. I just personally love the song and said I would like that if it were to happen. Just like you've expressed how you'd like this one to miss out on hitting #1. You literally just said this: I think this song can hit the Top 10, but I am unsure about this songs #1 chances. Nobody has a crystal ball and this could still miss the top (if it does, it'll probably be a Top 3 peak though at least). Also, I think you need to just calm down a little bit here. We get it; you dislike the song.
