Yeah, I didnt write the song but it always hurts a bit when someone insults songs I like. It does. It's human to be upset, hurt or irritated when people criticize a song we enjoy. The reasons might be understood but they can still be hard to look at, especially in large quantities. But this board breeds any opinion. It's a dead horse we've beaten six feet deep in the ground but negative opinions of songs happen here. I personally think "My Girl" is pretty bad myself, so I concur with jhomes87 , but we are but two people lol. The song's chart success and Mediabase callout scores indicate many people enjoy this song and others you enjoy, so don't be hurt, even if it's just a bit, if some hate a song. :)

Ugh, I hate seeing this become a hit. It's terrible, imo. I'd also like to see Curb go away so any success will keep them afloat

I'm not that big on this song, but some of his other stuff is pretty good. So I'm still a little happy to see him get a breakthrough hit, especially if that means he might have more of a chance at radio with future singles.

I love his voice and I think he's got some pretty promising stuff on his debut record.

I think "Living Room" would be a great choice for the third single.

Wasn't the line "Hey baby girl you gone and done it again" almost a word for word repeat of a line from another terrible song recently? The problem is I can't think of the other song, but as soon as I heard that line, I know I heard it somewhere else.

At least he didn't also copy "Get your little fine ass on the step, shimmy up inside". Or Chase Rice's demeanor.

I mean it's word for word just about. Just goes to show how little creativity mainstream country music has right now. Not only are the songs sounding the same, they are now becoming exactly the lyric, lol!

Scott ripped off from one of the least country songs in history to make top 5 and go platinum. Is "My Girl" making a run at the top spot here in the next 4 to 5 weeks?

It probably is, the sales are good and the feedback is good enough so why not try and make a run for the Top spot.

Curb Records has such a low batting average that they would be dumb not to try and push this as far as they possibly can, too.

Posted a new deluxe version of the album today which includes 1 new song (so I'm assuming it will be the next single.) it is called Hooked.
Think very catchy, FGL C-side.

I don't know what's worse: that this song has stunk up the charts for a full year, that it has a shot at #1, or that they dragged a good producer like Jim Ed Norman out of retirement

I've been hearing this so much on the radio in the past few weeks and it needs to stop.
Seriously, "Ooh, she got me like, yeah baby girl, you gone and done it again" is embarrassing.

What's most disappointing for me is that because "My Girl" took off at radio and tested well nationally and locally, Curb will feel the need to release more songs to radio like "My Girl" and "Hooked" (which isn't much better). I loved "Crazy Over Me" -- it had a throwback melody of a few years ago at Country radio and much better lyrically than "My Girl", if you ask me.
Dylan's got a great voice but that voice being sung on material like "My Girl" is just a waste.

I absolutely love the track to this song and then the lyrics ruin it. It's so frustrating.

I saw a Max Spins ad for this song in the Billboard Country Update so I take it that Curb is pushing this week and trying to get this song to leap ahead of "Craving You"?

Maybe the label stopped the push week this week as Dylan Scott gained basically no spins today and hardly anything in audience. Perhaps they are waiting for next week?

Is the label pushing this song this week? It seems like he's barely gaining any ground on Thomas/Maren. This maybe the song that misses #1 if they are pushing it this week.

If this is going to overtake Thomas this week though, either he needs to drop faster or Dylan needs to step on the gas harder.

Then we'll have "Yours If You Want It" at the top aka the worse selling song in the Top 15 and a song that shouldn't be preventing another song from #1 when the song itself has no business being #1.

Nah, they can fall too. Let's just give it to Keith and Carrie for the next 3 weeks to make up for all the room we just freed up at the top of the charts!

Once Keith and Carrie are done can we sneak Lady Antebellum and Midland a few weeks as well? "You Look Good" has been a pretty big hit all things considered.

"My Girl" gained 150 spins in Saturday's Mediabase update and overtook "Craving You" for #1 on the rolling chart, so Curb should be able to hold on tomorrow for the MB #1. Thomas/Maren started the Billboard week ahead of Dylan by nearly 1.2 million and since then, "My Girl" has made up that total in MB audience, while "Craving You" lost 800k in total audience. If Curb pushes through Sunday, they can get the Billboard #1 as well.

This is ahead of Thomas in audience now so Dylan looks as if he will get the BB #1 and providing he doesn't have a hard fall this week coming up he may squeak out 2 weeks at #1. He's quite a bit ahead of the next closest rising song which is Flatts.
