Not bad, but man, I really wish Curb could've kept his last single afloat. I loved "Crazy Over Me" and it seemed like it had potential to be a slow climb to the Top 20 or so, potentially. I like this one well enough, though it's mostly for his voice. His last single was definitely stronger overall.

NO. This song isn't bad...but I am in the same boat as .indulgecountry. Curb should've fought harder with "Crazy Over Me." I saw Dylan live at a country fest a few summers back. I liked what he played, but "Crazy Over Me" has been the only single to impress me. I feel like it could've done more. "My Girl" isn't bad either, but it's no "Crazy Over Me."

I think Curb tried as hard as they could with "Crazy Over Me." Dylan's name just hasn't been up there with programmers compared to other newcomers and it must not have connected as well as one would believe with local markets.
"Crazy Over Me" did give him his first true substantial airplay, so hopefully that helps him going forward.

I feel like Dylan is one really good song away from hitting that next tier of country stars. Great voice, great look, great performer, just lacking that one really good song that grabs everyone's attention. When you look at an Old Dominion, Tyler Farr, Brett Eldridge, Cam, Dustin Lynch, there's one song you can point at for their success(This isn't to say there aren't other really good songs, but one song that fueled their career). Once an artist gets that really good song, they're able to have more ok/good songs. This applies to a good portion of the big name artists when you start to think about it, those are just a few examples.
Unfortunately, I think this is another ok/good song, but not enough to break him through. Interested to see the reaction My Girl will get, hopefully it does become big, rooting for him.

Whoa, this one is in the top 30 of the iTunes Country chart. Did Dylan perform this one somewhere? It virtually has zero airplay so far.

This guy sounds like a better version of Lee Brice to me. Would love to see this one take off and be a hit where his last single came up short.

I think he has some pretty dedicated fans. Not sure how to prove that but my girlfriend has known about him for at least 3 years.

I think you're right but man that's still something that takes me back a bit. Dylan's songs are not original or ground-breaking in any way, shape or form but he has a distinct voice and the looks of someone who could be a star at radio. The problem is that he rotted away on Sidewalk Records (subsidiary label of Curb) for a couple years and even being bumped up to Curb's main roster has proven to show how far this label has fallen in promotion. If Dyan was on UMG or Sony, he would have broke out with "Makin' This Boy Go Crazy" or "Crazy Over Me". I don't think either of those songs were huge sellers or connections in the making but they showed plenty of promise to make me believe a stronger label with more clout would've proven vital. I'm not quite sure "My Girl" is a song that will be Dylan's first top 30 but given the fact he and his label are coming off a top 40 placement with his previous single, I suppose it's possible.

I also just need to express how much I love the single cover for this... like, damn. The color palette is great and he just looks amazing.

"Crazy Over Me" sold quite well. Due largely to a discounted price and Sirius/XM play.

I think someone in the albums thread said that he had an album available for pre-order now, so that's a good sign that maybe they're actually going to release one at some point. I wish Curb would start making a habit of that... y'know, actually releasing music in a semi-timely manner.

"Lay It On Me" and "Crazy Over Me" are on the album, as is Dylan's version of "Ball Cap."

This song is good not as "Crazy Over Me" but I liked it and I think Dylan has such a nice voice and I see some potential on him.

"Living Room" just got released from his new album (on iTunes) and my oh my is it a good ol' country song. Best song he's released so far for sure.

It looks like Dylan Scott got added by the Cumulus block as "My Girl" is showing 16 adds right now.

This song is currently in the top 170 of the iTunes all-genre chart (discounted at 69 cents but still a good number) and is probably going to finish the week inside the Mediabase top 50 this week.
I see this song having reasonable odds making the top 40 but I don't really see Curb pushing this "My Girl" any further than "Crazy Over Me." The Cumulus block adding this helped and KKBQ in Houston has contributed over 1.0 million in audience for Dylan this week.

Other than the Eminem namedrop (which I can't believe no one is spewing vitriol over in this thread), this one seems pretty forgettable to me. He definitely has pipes though.

Other than the Eminem namedrop (which I can't believe no one is spewing vitriol over in this thread), this one seems pretty forgettable to me. He definitely has pipes though. Eminem is also more than just a trendy rap name to drop, like say Lil' Wayne or T-Pain. He's a cultural icon more in the vein of Madonna or Willie Nelson. Anyways, finally heard this song today (or I finally cared enough to listen) and I was pleasantly surprised. Is it the best thing I've ever heard? Absolutely not. But it is solid fluff and a little bit of fluff never hurt anybody. Seems like there is some general interest in Dylan (decent sales), but sadly he is stuck with a crap label. Too bad for him because his potential is mostly being wasted.

The Chainsmokers "Closer" is definitely one of, if not the biggest hits of the year in the pop genre, so considering that I think it's smart for Dylan to cover it since he might gain more fans. I'm definitely a fan of this song. I like Dylan's cover too. Whenever I'm at the gym or out I'll listen to pop. It's pretty remarkable what "Closer" has done. I'm pretty sure it was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for at least 10 weeks. It still is number one on pop radio. I swear it's been there for 2 months.

Somewhat off topic, but I'm surprised the Chainsmokers recovered from that "Selfie" song. That had "novelty one hit wonder" written all over it. Kudos to them for escaping the stigma.
