Hoping they announce the next single and the tour as “The Voice” promo starts gearing up. Can’t wait this out much longer. I’m sure that’s the plan. Also hoping for a tour bundle, maybe with a live version of the album from the Nashville Sessions.

What are the songs about RCA on MOL? I'd say it's safe to say these are about RCA/Clive: Medicine Didn't I I Don't Think About You "Cruel" and "Don't You Pretend" feel less relevant to RCA, but who knows. Kelly said she wrote "Would You Call That Love" after she heard a few couple friends of hers broke up and someone said they never loved the other person, and she found that to be both an odd and s**tty thing to say. Not a lick of evidence but when I heard her say that I was convinced that it was some serious Miranda shade.

I put this album on and let it play. EVERY. TIME. Officially dethroned My December as my #1 Kelly album. Getting my life to WLW right now. Y'all gotta roll and rock with that EWF horn section and that bass. That trap beat too and the ending is so carefree. I can't, y'all. This is creeping up on my favorite album of 2017 for the sheer mastery of it all. Dedicating Medicine to the company that laid me off last week. JAMMMMMM. I am so in awe of this masterpiece of an album, even when I think about it.

Sorry not sorry for double post but I love Kelly and this album so much. Don't You Pretend brought tears to my eyes with its maximum level achieved. By the end of that song, I have to pick myself off the floor but then Go High comes on and I continue on! She is a genius with that being her final song.

Hitmakers: Kelly Clarkson reveals the secrets behind her huge ballad Because Of Youby George Garner October 24th 2017 at 9:37AM It’s hilarious that this is one of my biggest-selling singles because I was told it didn’t rhyme and it was a s**tty song. Good old record executives. I tried my damnedest to get this song on my first album – making that was a real wake up call for me, like, ‘Oh, I’m in a boat by myself paddling upstream’. I tried to reach out to other writers and [thought of] Ben Moody, who had success with Evanescence. I said to my lawyer, ‘Is there any way you can get hold of this guy, I think he’ll get my writing on this song because Amy Lee tends to write in this style too – like it’s from a journal’. Everyone always says, ‘Don’t trust your lawyer,’ but he’s one of my most trusted people, he actually hooked me up. I went outside the label and met up with Ben. For the second record, I’d just had my wisdom teeth taken out so my whole face was swollen – I couldn’t really talk or sing – but I sat there on this little keyboard in my apartment in LA and played him Because Of You and said, ‘I really believe in this song, it means a lot to me and I just feel a lot of people can relate to this... But I want to warn you that the label hates it and it’s got no chance in hell of making the record, but I’d really like to try’. Ben fell in love with it. I had the melody and those chords and words for so long. I was 16 when I wrote the song after a conversation with a bunch of friends when I was just trying to figure some stuff out for me personally. Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill was such a turning point for a lot of us girls who wanted to voice a lot of things. She helped pave that road for us to bare it all, whether it was nice or not. I like creating songs like that. I’m definitely one of those people who takes on not only my own emotions, but also everyone else’s in the room. I watch a commercial and start crying, so that doesn’t help when recording a song like Because Of You. But I do feel like I’m supposed to be a vessel for these kinds of songs, because they’re the ones that helped change my life, and made me feel like I found a safe place with music – a place to exorcise those emotions. It’s really important for me to be able to be that vulnerable in the studio. Piece By Piece [Clarkson’s 2015 single that positively frames her own marriage by re-addressing the experiences raised on Because Of You] is the perfect bookend. At 16, when I wrote Because Of You, I thought I realised the entire situation, but I didn’t until I was pregnant with my first daughter. All of a sudden it hit me, like, ‘Wow, how can a parent not want to see their kid through to fruition?’ Not so much that I was sad that I didn’t have a father to see that [with me], but I felt sadness if I wasn’t able to see my kids throughout the lives, and see what my DNA is doing, I would miss out on so much. I don’t think I really understood the gravity of the situation [of Because Of You] until I became a parent. It was a very important song for me because it was the one song we really worked for and then [the label] did all their testing **** and it tested well, all of a sudden they made it a single and it did better than all of them. You have no idea how vindicated I felt. The most bold thing that ever happened is that somebody started taking credit for it that hated it. It was a very big learning curve for me on how people worked in the industry, and just how ugly people could be – just straight up demeaning you and making you feel like nothing just so they can win. Obviously, they picked the wrong girl with that argument. www.musicweek.com/interviews/read/hitmakers-kelly-clarkson-reveals-the-secrets-behind-her-huge-ballad-because-of-you/070245

At Town, an epic gay bar in DC, and they just played an amazing remix of Love So Soft. Everyone was living for it. Yes, we are drunk so that contributes to the enthusiasm, but there’s no denial that it’s a great song and that she’s a gay icon. We stan for the right pop diva, and we should be proud of it.

So I think that NYE performance finally tipped the scales and I’m fully basking in the empowering, glorious Kool-Aid of Whole Lotta Smash. Am I crazy for not hating the idea of it being the next single?

Personally, I doubt any song on the album is going to do much of anything commercially (outside the HOT AC format), with "Would You Call That Love" having the most potential. If I were Kelly, I would just throw out my personal favorite.

I am back fully onboard with team Heat. It did not burn on me like I thought. I actually like it better than ever. With the right recipe of promotion and performances I really think it could smash.

Same. Given the live performances, Heat and WLW are best for promo and this album seems to only make any progress when kelly os on tv lol.

Starting to think there won't be a second single.. This switch to Atlantic might not have been a good idea after all.. I mean.. We're halfway through January already, LSS peaked 2 months ago and still no words on a second single.. I hope I'm wrong, but by the time they finally decide on something, it'll be just so late that no one will even know about it.. They're gonna let this era just end like that with an amazing album to work with, just like they did with Jojo..

...She's about to get four months of twice-weekly television exposure on one of the biggest network shows, and one that already has a reputation for being a promotional vehicle for its judges. It's also the mere third week of the year in an industry whose executives spend a solid month around the holidays out of the office. There will be a second single.

I mean, if it weren't for the Voice I would be thinking that maybe they are going to let the era go already. They would be fools not to launch at least one more single with the Voice though. I think they are just regrouping especially since I kind of think they expected Love So Soft to do a bit better. Like, maybe not a lot better on pop, but definitely Hot Ac. Like, I am sure there are some intense conversations going on about the possible directions they will take with Single #2 right now.

Saw this paragraph in another article. Sounds like they have a long term plan in place for this album and they're not going to give up on it. With the album out, the plan to deliver it to the masses in 2018 is ongoing. And Clarkson, more than most, is an expert at playing the long game: only ever one live performance away from reviving interest in her albums. A prime example being Piece By Piece’s title track – its third single – going viral after her sensational, tear-riddled performance on the final series of American Idol. Clarkson and her team at Atlantic are in this for the long haul.
“We’ve already seen huge promotional looks in the form of Strictly Come Dancing, Graham Norton and Carpool Karaoke, coupled with an incredibly strong radio picture around the launch of the album and across the first single,” says Chris Ruff, senior marketing manager, Atlantic. “This rich run of form is set to continue long into 2018. Due to the time of year of the album release it is currently skewed towards physical product, but it’s incredibly encouraging to see the streaming picture of Kelly growing week upon week. We’ll be working closely with streaming partners in the new year to ensure the longevity of the album campaign.”www.musicweek.com/interviews/read/since-she-s-been-gone-why-kelly-clarkson-is-embracing-a-new-chapter-of-her-career/070912

Kelly/Atlantic/God, if you're listening, I desperately need live performances of 'Cruel' & 'Don't You Pretend'. It can be Nashville Sessions/Cracker Barrel/Live from Applebee's; whatever you've got. K thanks.

In lieu of any shred of important/significant news, I think I'm due for an updated album ranking from my initial one-week-in list: 01. Meaning Of Life 02. Didn't I 03. Love So Soft 04. Cruel 05. Go High 06. Don't You Pretend (biggest mover so far) 07. Slow Dance 08. Heat 09. Medicine 10. Would You Call That Love 11. I Don't Think About You 12. A Minute 13. Move You 14. Whole Lotta Woman Today, I'm more like: 01. Meaning Of Life 02. Didn’t I 03. Cruel 04. Love So Soft 05. Don’t You Pretend 06. Medicine 07. Heat 08. Whole Lotta Woman 09. Would You Call That Love 10. Go High 11. Slow Dance 12. I Don’t Think About You 13. A Minute 14. Move You "Don't You Pretend" and "Whole Lotta Woman" have been the biggest movers in a positive direction. The only song I really find myself less enamored with since the album's release is "I Don't Think About You." I get it, am glad to have it, worship the vocals, but I don't think the whole thing together works as well as others do. I don't dislike "Go High" anymore than I did at first, I have just grown to like other songs more. Months in, the whole thing still sounds fresh af and I've yet to tire of it at all. I still rarely even skip "Move You" so I'm hopeless. The GP needs to wake the fuck up to this album this year in a big way or we may as well just have stayed living in 2017 hell tbh.

More Grammy performers announced today but no Kelly. Looking less and less likely, though I don’t think this says anything negative about Atlantic/Brandon. She got a surprise nom for a category they don’t always televise, and she isn’t some big commercial success right now, so it’s not like they had a lot of pull to work with. As far as I know it isn’t a “complete” list of performers so it’s still possible, but I’m not holding my breath.
