Let's not forget the record-breaking, career starting #1 hit that was A Moment Like This and her soulful sister The Trouble With Love Is. Even among stans Thankful is forgotten lol. I’d love to see her being back “The Trouble With Love Is” on tour. With a bit of tweaking, it’d fit with her new sound.

I loved The Trouble With Love but it hasn't aged well for me for some reason.

It has always amazed me at how few true ballads she has had on her records, much less how few became singles. The only two real ballads that she had as singles were BOY and AG. BOY went #1 in the World. AG could have done better without the Halo controversy but it still did very well. I will be very curious to see how this does. She is past the point in her career where a good song guarantees success, so it will depend whether radio even wants to play her at all. I think they are smart to send this to HAC first. If it doesn't do much then no one notices and they can quickly release something else to CHR. The performances will hopefully be amazing and as a fan that is all I really want at this point, good music and amazing live performances! Piece by piece would count as a ballad. The ballad version is the one that attained the vast majority of sales and AirPlay

That's true. It was the ballad version that I always heard on HAC.

The ballad version is the one that attained the vast majority of sales and AirPlay Yes, but I still consider its success as something you have to attribute to the viral moment on American Idol. Had that not happened would anyone even know it was a single? And the production on the album version really takes away from it being a true ballad, IMO.

I was responding to your sentence “ the only two real ballads she had as single...” your points are all valid but none of them take away from piece by piece being a “real ballad”

I was responding to your sentence “ the only two real ballads she had as single...” your points are all valid but none of them take away from piece by piece being a “real ballad” But the only version of Piece by Piece that was a "real ballad" was the one she recorded after Idol. The original version, which was the plan all along, was not enough of a ballad with that strange production on it. I mean, it had howling wolves for goodness sake! So I guess that is where I disagree. Yes, it was a real ballad but only because it was re-recorded after a moment that could never have been foreseen or planned for.

That is great news and quite good timing (better if they did it before LSS release). Every time a Kelly video was released back then I would get notifs on my phone because I was subscribed to her vevo channel, and that channel has 2 Million subscribers. Imagine how much of that was lost when they moved to her personal channel. Hope they are able to do this before her next music video release.

I sat down at my desk with my morning coffee and partook of the glorious mess that is this performance once more. It warmed the crevices of my dark soul. So, so terrible but yet so, so entertaining. I have tears. Thank you Gods. I just had to point that out. Carry on with your day good people.

The wait for the first performance of this song would be UNBEARABLE.

Poor girl thinks being from Southern Indonesia is the same as being from The South. Bless her heart.

Also, I consider Invincible as another ballad in the same vain as AG (don’t they have the same tempo?) AND the only single that matters off My December: Sober, such a masterpiece -and undeserved flop!

I hope singing the song over and over won't be too demanding on her vocal cords.

One of my best friends back home just sent me a Google Home and I am in the process of getting to know it. I told it to play Kelly Clarkson Heat and it was like sorry, that is only available for Google Music subscribers but it played WLW. Then, I said play Meaning of Life and it was like sorry, that album is only available for subscribers and played Heat? LOL. Oh well. I am just glad it will play Kelly!

I hope singing the song over and over won't be too demanding on her vocal cords. The high end of a falsetto doesn't hurt vocal chords near as much as belting in chest voice as most of her songs do.
