I fail to see how this is a problem.  If people aren't paying as much for the song, why should it chart as high as something people are willing to throw more money at?  And if record labels raise prices, sales will be lower, so it's not a magic button to raise revenue.  I'd say this is a more accurate representation of how well a song is doing.

My only problem with this chart is that it doesn't show airplay revenue.

Rise didn't get that much boost from the Olympics unlike Philip Phillips's HOME which had a resurgence in the charts after getting exposure in the London Olympics

Looks like Into You has peaked and won't enter the top 10.

If they were to include royalties they would/should also have to include royalties from when songs are played in clubs, shopping centres, restaurants, TV shows, movies, adverts, etc, not just from when songs are played on the radio, and royalties from when songs are covered and sampled. It would be interesting to see how it would come out though.

Wow, "Ride" is at number 2? I can't see it taking #1 spot on airplay but it's very impressive nonetheless.

Not even airplay can save "Into you" from peaking at this point

With Ride about to peak and with there being really no close competition right now, I also think Send My Love will replace Cheap Thrills. I mean, Cold Water is still 58 million behind Send My Love, so I don't see why Send My Love wouldn't reach #1 on airplay at this point.

I actually think Cheap Thrills is going to hang on long past its welcome like Love Yourself did until Cold Water replaces it, which will quickly get replaced by Closer.

Ouch, latest Fifth Harmony single is already collapsing. Well, that went nowhere.

So "Hymn for the weekend" is finally in the top 40 but its gains are not very impressive. This might be a bad sign.

The lack of any real change/momentum on the airplay chart is interesting. Nothing near the top is making super huge gains.

Since it started, I believe.

Music video plays weren't initially included but I think they started adding those earlier this year or end of 2015? It was sometime after Hotline Bling.
