Well... Looks like I was about right on 24k Magic's streaming, but f**ked up the sales. Glad it hit the top 5.  Looks like it might hold decently during the second week, too, considering it's at about 75% of its peak on the pop bars still. Also happy that Side To Side might actually end up being Ariana's biggest hit off DW, seeing as... well, you can see where it ended up on my list. Also, wow, how long is Heathens gonna stay at the exact same spot in terms of points? It's been around the 36k mark for weeks now. |

It's just sad that some songs like "The Sound" can't even chart on the Hot 100 and crappy meme like PPAP makes it to #77

Honestly, I'm kinda expecting Closer to stay on top for a while longer, until something lower in the top 10 with a bunch of room to grow like Broccoli (no pun intended) dethrones it when it's weak. DWK and 24K lack the streaming necessary, and Heathens and Starboy are pretty much maxed out right now, using slowing airplay gains to plug up falling streaming. Same with what happened to One Dance when the much weaker Cheap Thrills took over. I'm expecting 24k Magic to stick to the 3-5 range for the next few weeks (after the week 2 slump), and DWK to be a little lower than that due to pretty crappy youtube. Unless one of them ends up getting absurd AI peaks above 220m, I doubt they'll be contenders. |
