I get that you are a new member, missamerican, but you MIGHT want to look at the rules before accusing someone of something they clearly didn't do. I could just as easily claim you calling me "sweetie" is a personal attack since it is demeaning, condescending, and degrading but...that's another issue. You literally know nothing about me or what "screaming" (LOL) looks like, but I will tell you that Bieber is far from a fave of mine. I like his last couple albums and his new song. That's it. I probably played the loosies YOUR fave left the last couple years more than anything released by Bieber, but keep writing this bizarre narrative you are writing. Also, I'm not nearly as "worried" about Yummy "not selling" as you seem to be. That said, I hope for your sake that the album DOES sell, but I am not a psychic or fortune teller, so I cannot predict that. Calling somebody "sweetie" isn't comparable to asking somebody how often somebody's on their mind. Anyways, I apologize if you found it aggressive. And, Selena isn't my fave but that isn't too relevant right now. You kept on mentioning the lack of excitement towards the album with very little evidence, and it seemed silly to base that off of a small amount of thread pages when the album thread is far bigger on other music discussion sites. But the point is, I'm sorry if I came off as rude or judgemental in anyway and I hope we can avoid this happening again. I accept your apology. Like I said, I actually HOPE the album does well, especially if it's as good as all the singles that have been released (counting the Target exclusive tracks). When I talk about lack of excitement, I am not on social media much, but I assume her stans are excited. I am talking more about the general public. Also, even though she has millions and millions of followers, we have seen time and time again when that doesn't translate into actual album sales. That said, I think she can do at least 100k.

God, y'all are messy as f*ck.
Anyways, there's been several hashtags trending, the album has gone #1 on pre-order's multiple times (definitely better than when Revival released), "Lose You to Love Me" is still in the Top 10, and Pulse also isn't the whole world? The other forum's thread has been very very active, and it feels like Pulse has been a lil' slow lately (but maybe that's just me). She's gonna do fine!
Anyway, I've only listened to the title track because we've heard most of it and lord, the new additions to the production are everything. I'm not against this being the next single, (which it appears it is as it's the song being promoted to New Music Friday, and the music video is being teased). Her vocals are so flirty and the harmonies are amazing. A great opener indeed! Probably going to be a favorite.

Hoping the Kudi and 6Lack features can bring some people into streaming the whole album. Anyone heard them yet?

UUUGHHHHH it's finally here!! I liked most of Revival but I became a fan during the droplets era because all the songs on the deluxe version are ace, especially the godly Bad Liar and THE Fetish. Hopefully there's something reminiscent of those on the standard edition.

Why are they pushing rare (the song) as the next single? Such an odd move

Yeah I agree - there's next to no hype for this behind her fans on Twitter. Not even a promo single since LAHN. Hopefully they can get Rare to be a nice hit for her, or else this era will end very quickly.

On a positive note, the sound of the album is very current and doesn't sound dated at all. The production and singing style remind me of a lot of Billie Eillish.
Rare and Vulnerable are highlights of the album. If she plays her cards right another #1 isn't a far-fetched idea.

I like it a lot on first listen. It's a nice continuation of what she built with Revival. I'm beyond stuck on the title track though, such a subversive little pop song.

"Taki Taki" "We Don't Talk Anymore" "It Ain't Me" "Wolves"
I would like to point out that she could not have achieved this without Charlie Puth

K this is actually pretty decent. I didn't expect to actually listen to the full album but it flows really well and is an easy listen. There's too much-spoken word stuff spread throughout the album that's annoying, but for the most part it's very chill good weed music which I didn't expect. The title track is the best thing she's done since BL.

Holy hell. I was not expecting Selena to SERVE like this. I knew it'd be good but not this good? The production is absolutely insane and phenomenal! Such a fun and free record, something I really needed right now.
Ranking:
1. People You Know - There is something about this song that I can't put my finger on. It's so chill and vibey and the lyrics are excellent. I love the way she sings the chorus too. And the production is excellent 10/10 2. Vulnerable - I knew this song had something big in store for me. I was expecting a ballad but the electronic tints, the lyrics, the production. It's such a pretty song. The chorus gives me chills, and I love the use of the vocoder. 10/10 3. Dance Again - The production on this song is INSANE. I love the 80's vibe it has going on, and the chorus is insanely fun! 10/10 4. Rare - A perfect pop song. I can see this song aging either amazingly, or badly but for right now I'm so obsessed with it. Glad the classic "Burning toast in the toaster" lyric is still there hehe. 9.5/10 5. Kinda Crazy - It was difficult to figure out which song out of 3 was going here, but there's just something about this song that I love. I love the guitar, the lyrics, and the chorus is so fun. I love the sass. 9/10 6. Cut You Off - Now THIS is how you do R&B. So chill and vibey and I love the lyrics. The chorus is really infectious to me as well. 9/10 7. A Sweeter Place - I was a little worried about this track considering the feature and the snippet we had, and while Kid Cudi's verse needs to grow on me, it's a fantastic outro to the album and I love the production on it. Very fresh and chill. 9/10 8. Crowded Room - Another great R&B track. I love the build up as well as 6LACK's verse. He never misses on a feature. 8.5/10 9. Fun - There's a lot of mixed emotions on this but I really like it! I love the quirky and jokes in the verses and the bass in the production is really nice. Kinda 80's too? Or 70's? 8/10 10. Look At Her Now - Still a great song. Aged really well. 8/10 11. Ring - This took a second to hit with me, but I really love all the instruments they used honestly. Cute song. 7.5/10 12. Let Me Get Me - Ugh this was so hard to put here since I REALLY like it. It's super fun and the chorus is great! 7.5/10 13. Lose You to Love Me - I'm not much of a ballad person, but I still really like this for a ballad. The chorus build up will always be amazing. 7/10
Anyway give this album all the awards. Not a single skip for me so far, and really hard to rank. Still unsure if my #1 is People You Know or Vulnerable, but leaning more towards PYK for now. Make that sh!t a single and give it a video please.

The only track that I'm not quite fond of is "Rare". Everything else is great but I can't get into it for some reason. "Dance Again" "Ring" "Vulnerable" and "Crowded Room" are some of her best tracks yet. "Cut Off" had so much potential to be a great record, but it lacks a great bridge. This album is a really solid effort from her. I rank it below Revival as her second-best album because it doesn't reach its heights. It's a more honest and cohesive effort than Stars Dance for sure, so I place it above that.

It's so diverse and amazing.
You like rock? Here's Cut You Off. You like pop? Here's Rare. You like R&B? Here's A Sweeter Place. You like Latin? Here's Ring. You're depressed because your boyfriend just came out as gay and left you? Here's Lose You to Love Me.

Overall the album isn't bad! I really like Dance again and Let me get me. I'm not the biggest fan of Selena so I went into this with no expectations and was overall happy with the album. I do wish they added another feature at the start of the album somewhere to mix it up a little more.

fuck.
this is good.
Surprised at the so-so response here. I've never been a fan and I'm pleasantly surprised with this album. I do think it would've fit better as a Spring release though. That's the vibe I get from the album.

The vibe is all over the place and you can definitely tell some stuff was recorded ages before some of the other tracks, but overall I really like it. She's never been quite an album artist (save for Revival, ofc), but this is a strong effort.
There are several single worthy tracks. "Dance Again" is an early fave.
