I don't get people saying 'oh I only know a few songs' when links to literally every song have been provided. It makes sense if what they're really saying is "I'm busy and don't have time to listen to 20-plus new songs rn" - I sort of get it. But even then, that in turn only makes sense when you're near the deadline - if you've got a full month it's less "I don't have time" and more "I'm not really interested enough to check this person out." Which is also fine, just a bit more blunt. This, I understand; but at the same time if they only know a few songs and have plenty of time before deadline (not the case in this particular rankdown) then could they not listen to just a few unfamiliar songs before deciding whether or not they're interested in jumping down that rabbit hole?

I was halfway done making my ranking and my laptop crashed before the deadline. 😩 If you send them in quickly, I'll still accept them! I finished going through looking for errors today. The reveal will likely start on Wednesday.

Alright, so I've decided that the final score will consist of a formula that combines the average, median, and standard deviation of each song. I feel this formula takes all of the variables into account and really makes the list look like a great sum of everyone's rankings.

As host of this rankdown, I will be posting honorable mentions to my favorite JoJo album tracks that couldn't make the rankdown tracklist.
So before we get this reveal started, let me just ask you one thing. ARE ARE ARE YOU YOU YOU READY READY READY READY??????
"Breezy" is the lead track on JoJo's debut self titled album. A perfect start to an album that launched this amazingly talented girl's career. Until Mad Love., JoJo had a history of picking the perfect songs to kick off an album (arguably her best album intro is in the rankdown).

27. Beautiful Girls ReplyAVG: 21.7826087 MED: 24 SD: 6.842092461Final Score: 16.32207556Notes"Beautiful Girls Reply" was a one-off track JoJo released in 2007 for her fans towards the beginning of her label turmoil. It is of course a reply to the Sean Kingston smash hit, " Beautiful Girls," with the lyrics replying to Sean Kingston's track, but from the female's perspective. The track was never given an official release, so don't be expecting to purchase it on iTunes or listen to it on Spotify anytime soon. However, it did manage to scrape the bottom of the rhythmic airplay chart here in the states! WTF EVERYONE!!!!! Horrible song to be out first. I have to say, as someone who actually likes her rendition of this and the original, it definitely was one of the songs I always expected to be out first simply because her discography is so damn strong. (I mean, it's my #24.) I did not expect it to be first out, though. I expected the #26 to actually be the first one out. Quite insane, actually! This wasn't dead last until the end of the submissions. Suddenly it was like everyone got together to make it dead last. 27 after 27 after 27! Submissions 15-19 and 21 all put it at #27. In fact, the bottom four all kept bouncing around being last until all of these 27s came in. I was so tempted to put this as number 1.. Anyways, I love Beautiful Girls a lot, so I obviously ended up loving this too, and it was my 1st listen as well. Don't get the hate for this and the actual Beautiful Girls, but whatevs. If you had ranked it at #1, the new score would have been 16.25052837 instead of 16.32207556 (an increase of 0.07154719). It still would have been last. Damn...I love this song...almost as much as I love the host of this.

26. Back and ForthAVG: 21.17391304 MED: 23 SD: 7.049514322Final Score: 15.72583729Notes"Back and Forth" was an interesting promo single choice. It was intended to be her debut album's final single in select European markets, but was scraped last minute and delegated to promo single status. The track is also only on the European edition of the album along with a track entitiled " Butterflies." (Sorry, US fans!) Well at least my 27 was out next. Makes up for my number 3 getting out first. Although I wish that they changed positions.
Anyways, I hated this song on first listen. It was horrible, sorry to say, the only song here that Id say I hate. The other 5 I ranked above it, I dont really hate, just find it boring.
Glad that others didn't feel too well on this track either.

Honorable MentionGood Thing."Good Thing." was first released through live performances between her III. EP and third studio album, Mad Love.. The track was an instant success amongst fans, many begging for the studio version, several claiming it was better than anything on III.. Rumours even circulated that it could potentially be the lead single for her third album. Alas, it was not, with "F**k Apologies." being the lead instead. In fact, "Good Thing." was never a single, nor was it on the standard edition of Mad Love.. It can, however, be found on the deluxe edition of Mad Love., which is only available through online medium. {Previous Honorable Mentions} Breezy

That's all for tonight, everyone. See you all tomorrow for 25-21! Here's to some fun speculations:
Tomorrow's honorable mention: Total 90s hip-hop throwback.
25: Was someone's #1, and also someone's #27! 24: Our first track not to be someone's #1 or #27. 23: Despite not being a big hit (and apparently not too popular amongst listeners here), JoJo still performs this one quite often. It also has the highest SD of any eliminated song thus far. 22: The final scores finally leave the teens. 21: The loss of our first true full-fledged single.

Gotta be honest. "Good Thing" is fine and all, but it's one of my least favorites on Mad Love. It's just so generic, I don't really get the love.

I remember seeing the "Back and Forth" single on iTunes back in like 2006 and thinking that she had covered Aaliyah's "Back and Forth," due to the whole label collection and all. I was disappointed to find out I was wrong.

26. Back and Forth
Losses #1: 0 Top 5: 1 Top 10: 2 Top 20: 4 #27: 3
The bolded are off by 1 (there are 2 top 5, 3 top 10, 5 top 20 losses) Also, not at all sad to see these first two songs go. B&F doesn't stand the test of time well (and was merely cute even when it was released) and BGR is just a no for me dawg. But I AM sad that Good Thing must be relegated to honorable mention.
