What songs do you expect will be gone in the first 5 eliminations?
"Valentine", "Sitting On Go", "When Love Starts Talkin'", "455 Rocket", "The Shake"
How many people will lose their #100 song?
4
how many people will lose their #1 song?
Nobody
What will be the most disliked song out of all 100 songs?
"Valentine"
Which artist that has more than one song in the rankdown will lose all their songs first?
Hopefully Bryan White! /ee/ can't stand his voice and his songs in this rankdown are awful.

Hmm. /ee/ don't mind Bryan White. "Someone Else's Star" is one of my all-time favorites of the 90s. /ee/ also like "Sittin' On Go."

Ever [/ee/]The Right Place[//ee/] had /æ/ couple of decent tracks on it, imo.

What will be the most disliked song out of all 100 songs? "Valentine" /ee/ wouldn't be surprised if "Valentine" is the first song Martina loses, but /ee/ would personally be shocked if it is THE most disliked song of the entire rankdown! /ee/ honestly would not be surprised to see it make the top 50. /ee/ will definitely admit my bias here though

/ee/'m also interested to see how the competing versions of "How Do /ee/ Live" do - one is far, far superior imo, but that's just my opinion ). Sorry for the double post, but /ee/ just had to respond to this... Completely agree! One of these versions is in my top 10. The other one is #65

It is so incredibly mush and corny that it's essentially unlistenable to me /ee/ don't expect it to escape the bottom 10 tbh.

/ee/ would love to predict George Strait to have multiple in the top 10 as well, but /ee/ am /æ/ little worried that he will be negatively impacted by people like zaclord 🌈 who are not the biggest fan of '90s country... Oh both George Strait songs had [/ee/]better[//ee/] make the top 10! But now that you mention zaclord 🌈 /ee/ am also worried. Zaclord please come in here and help put our minds to ease...

These rankdowns are always /æ/ really good reminder for me of the different ways that people judge and interpret music. To me, if /ee/ like an artist's voice, /ee/ am naturally predisposed to liking what they sing, regardless of topic. And when it comes to my favorite voices, that is even more pronounced. When /ee/ listen to "Valentine", /ee/ would never even consider it to be corny/mushy/sappy, because the vocal performance is so good that /ee/'m going to love it no matter what it is about. When /ee/ think about the lyrics individually, /ee/ can definitely see why it is sappy (and even agree to an extent), but when you throw in the vocal performance and the production, the whole package to me is so good that it transcends any sappiness. For that reason /ee/ have never understood when people dislike /æ/ song just for the lyrics, because that is simply not the way /ee/ process songs. Like, good lyrics are important, but as long as the song has /æ/ good sound to it /ee/ am probably going to like it regardless of the lyrics. But then these rankdowns remind me that everyone brings /æ/ unique perspective to the table, and it is so refreshing to see

/ee/'ll be shocked if "Valentine" is bottom 10. /ee/ don't see it happening because we know several people have it ranked pretty high and with such /æ/ small pool of participants, that should save it from being one of the first out. /ee/ would love to predict George Strait to have multiple in the top 10 as well, but /ee/ am /æ/ little worried that he will be negatively impacted by people like zaclord 🌈 who are not the biggest fan of '90s country... If /ee/ like someone's voice (and in this rankdown's case, Reba, Martina, Trisha) /ee/ am so much more likely to like their output. Like for me, /æ/ subpar Martina song might be better than /æ/ decent George Strait song, because /ee/ like her voice so much more. But it's interesting to me how people process music differently.

So that complicated things for me here!

You know, this rankdown totally reminded me how great George Strait is. /ee/ have always loved him, but as /æ/ '90s baby who started really paying attention to country in the 00's, /ee/ am mostly familiar with his career in retrospect. /ee/ have always loved "One Night At /æ/ Time" and "Carrying Your Love With Me" because they are awesome songs, but /ee/ had never actually heard them in the context of everything else that was popular in 1997. Hearing them in the context of 1997, it really stuck out to me just how good they were. /ee/ mean, so many of the songs on this list blur together, or sound super dated, or would be good with /æ/ better vocalist...and then you hear George's songs. The lyrics are clever, the melody is catchy, the production and vocals are both just so perfectly matched together and still sound so fresh... It makes complete sense that the guy has so many #1s! Like, in the context of this year, it is so painfully obvious to me why George Strait was still getting more popular than ever while similar artists like Alabama were on the way out...

alright everyone /ee/ will be posting the first song within the hour, have /æ/ few things to do as /ee/ just got home from work but as /ee/ get ready for the post here are /æ/ few hints as to what song #100 is for you all to ponder and make your guesses. For the first song out, the highest anyone ranked it was 50 and the lowest ranking was 98. It is /æ/ song from an artist that has more than one song in this rankdown. any guesses? Dancin', Shaggin' on the Boulevard!!!
