Thoughts on the likelihood of a 30th Anniversary edition of the janet. album next year?
Her official website is promoting the 25th Anniversary of TVR, so maybe she finally worked something out with Universal.

I love the love that this amazing album - and her discography as a whole - is getting! I feel like there is a resurgence in appreciation of her music and I am so grateful to see it. She deserves all her flowers. Talent does win in the end. f**k you, Les Moonves.
Interestingly, for the first time since I've started tracking, she has her 80's, 90's and 00's material represented among her top 10 Spotify songs.
The Velvet Rope is starving to be rediscovered.

I remember sooooooo many teen pop stars around the turn of the millennium mentioning TVR as one of their favorite albums. Even the members of the A*Teens talked about it.

Yeah, I bought that for the videos. They crammed quite a bit on one DVD so some of them are pretty cruddy in terms of quality. But overall it's a nice collection.

Ling, how bad is the quality of the videos? As bad as showing somewhat pixelated sometimes or just not HQ? Most of them look acceptable to good IMO, definitely nothing in HD quality. There are several that look a tad blurry or pixelated though. And keep in mind, most of her vids were filmed 4:3 ratio. And they haven't been adjusted for wide screen TVs. Which is good, because you can lose footage/quality that way. But just wanted to give a heads up, because the bars on the side throw people off. |
