Any word on if physical editions will be available? I think it would have been included in this announcement if so, but hopefully I'm wrong. I'd love a vinyl edition of this deluxe edition. This album would sound great on vinyl, I think. |

I have all these mixes but it’s nice that they will be widely available now. I’m sure some of my friends will be happy the “radio” version of Go Deep again (did anyone else’s urban stations play the Timbaland remix over the original?)

Yeah, I got so excited and texted my Beat Shazam teammate (who is the biggest Janet stan I know), but then I saw it was only digital. Ugh. I remember buying the CD on release date and being amazed by it. Such an amazing body of work.

One of the articles said "Pre-Order Now" so perhaps there will be some physical product.
EDIT: Never mind, that is to pre-order as a download from iTunes.
I wish her Virgin albums would have the full maxi-singles released to streaming the way Rhythm Nation 1814 did.

This album is so special to me. It was my very first CD that I had own, the one that I had begged and pleaded to my mom to have.
I remember it was given to me by my parents as a gift from Spec's music store, along with the Aiwa boombox with a remote control. I also begged to have a cd player. I can still remember being full with excitement when I heard "Twisted Elegance" as my dad started to show me how to work the Aiwa boombox. I can also remember the fresh new smell of the booklet pages as I opened up the cd. Memories.
A girl never forgets her first! I was 10 at the time. 😊

TVR is a great (and misunderstood) concept and I love the album, but like most Janet albums it's a bit bloated for me. I make my own version as such:

Ugh, listened all the way through and it's such a journey. This album has aged devastatingly well and overwhelms most MPG's entire careers when it comes to quality.
Also, "Go Deep" is such a goddamned JAM. I love when she does an acapella outro.
You know you make forward-looking classiques when the issues they tackle are more socially relevant 25 years later.
Finally, the "You" video has been uploaded to her YT channel. Is "Every Time" next?

Listened to the whole deluxe edition at work today and it still holds up. Control-Rhythm Nation-janet.-The Velvet Rope is the most flawless 4-album run is history. She is truly the blueprint.
