My husband got me tickets for Christmas! π. This will be my first time finally seeing her! π. I had tickets to the last show and was so gutted when Covid canceled it.

Janet's always been such a beautifully stunning woman and soul.
I feel she is undoubtedly criminally underrated. It feels like she's left out of mainstream consciousness in the music sphere/pop culture which is crazy to me given her actual impact, sales, talent etc. I mean this is a woman who should be just as respected and revered as your Mariah or Madonna, yet she doesn't really get the same kind of reception and I feel like a lot of that comes from the concerted effort to destroy her career and legacy after that disastrously overblown Superbowl "incident" (if you want to call it that). This woman is an icon, a legend, a pioneer, and she truly deserves much more recognition than she receives and it simply has to be said. Hopefully she's given her flowers while she's here, because she's certainly earned them!

Listening to her music tonight and realized that I would compare her vocally to Diana Ross. She doesn't have the power, but she has a unique-in-the-world tone and can effortlessly inhabit different characters in her songs. Janet has emotional range and a great intimacy to her voice. And her vocal arrangements are truly peerless. New York and Atlantic City are almost sold out.
I pepper the Portland date and so many tickets are still on sale. I was at her Portland show for SOTW tour and I thought βIβd be surprised if she booked here againββshe must feel some loyalty to Portland since TVR tour.
They better do some more promo there! I was there for Christmas and there were some big billbords - itβs the nose bleeds that are still available

I know βCall On Meβ got some love from radio but num. 10 most streamed song from Janet in 2022β¦ The song is nice enough but I remember when it came out. I was driving with 3 other people and they premiered the song on our local Rhythmic station and everyone in the car was pumped. Then the song ended and everyone kind of just shrugged and agreed, it was ok I guessβ¦ |
